It is not that bad. You get to see this really gentle and tender side of Sima Jiao. Every single emotion has been portaged by him beautifully!

Sima Jiao is. Definitely up there with the best XINXIA MLs. The FL’s character is refreshingly different and interesting in this drama . The only other drama where the FL was interesting - in a XINXIA- is TTEOM

It is not a forced romance . From the ML’s perspective he is someone who is pretty much shunned by everyone and all they think about is how to use him or kill him. She is the only one who treats him sincerely and he sees her as this honest person with no agenda . For her part she is in a new world where she knows no one and he cherishes and protects her and lets her be herself. So it is mutual .
