She actually plays grey and dark characters well. I can’t see her as a lead in a romcom or something like that . But serious characters that are complex - definitely!

Thirty episodes in and this drama is so good! Thoroughly loving every minute of it and I am thoroughly invested in the characters and the story. This is definitely one of the best dramas this year. I am blown away by all the actors in this ensemble but Bai Lu shines in this role again and her character is so beautifully written.

Yeah I was frustrated with her and then I was really mad at Xingchi- I don’t find him likeable at all and can’t put up with his antics anymore

Yeah she is a serious actress . Even her negative roles have been amazing . She really gets into it and it’s great to watch that

ZHY’s dad is the most shady character in this drama. I think he is deceiving everyone including the audience with his so called ‘goodness’. It is very evident from how he married the FL’s mom that he is not a nice guy. I don’t think he is an idiot either . He is still playing that game in prison and asking his daughter to rescue him and the family but I don’t believe this charade at all. Again there is more than meets the eye here and it needs to be revealed. Our FL of course is blinded to this again!

She is definitely a good actress DW!

I think she is already ruthless and as you said savage . But I am not saying the ML is good. If anything they are both ready to do what ever it takes for their agenda. Both are morally grey.

They both use each other but she is definitely more ruthless and manipulating than him. I think he has more bottom lines than her. Because her background adds to all that

I am a little frustrated with Feng Hua. Fine she is sick but she needs to tell her parents and Wang He. It’s ok if she wants to break up with him but she needs to be honest and not brush him off like that or push him away.

Absolutely . She is very manipulative and selfish. That is exactly why the ML is very wary of here . He is always watching her every move and keeping a little bit of that distance .

You are right she uses the ML when she wants to but when things don’t go her way or if he does something against her wishes she attacks him. She is the perfect example of an abused person who has survived. She only cares about herself and that ‘perfect home’. What I am concerned about is that the ML is clearly swayed by her emotions and sometimes changes his decisions because of her. She really does not trust anyone and with the ML she has this interesting relationship- she is ok with asking him for help when she is in dire need but she pushes him away whenever he does anything against her wishes . I want to see where this goes. And this perfect family of hers may not be that great but it’s going to take time for her to come to terms with it. She is a morally grey character

She is definitely clouded by her judgement because she only focuses on having a home and a family. She is blinded as far as everything else is concerned. She called the ML selfish too but I think it’s only her - she does not want that ‘perfect family/home disturbed. There is more to this mystery than what we see. Also we do not know everything about the ML yet.

She believes that her mom has tried to protect her throughout and that is why she wants. To save her. She knows her dad and stepmom and her kids are that clean and the he is in all probability that adopted son of that Pei. But my question is this- is he really he dad or is it the other guy - the one her mom loved . I have strong suspicions that is the case . Let’s see where all this goes

I am not surprised. Feng Hua’s character is beautifully written. Her character is strong yet delicate . Very resilient . I am hoping she will overcome whatever illness she has as well

This is so well analyzed that there is nothing else to say. And you are right Wang He is the most complex character here . And yes he does not act like this knight in shining armor towards Feng Hua. Feng Hua decided long ago that she was not going to rely on men (remember that conversation between Siyi and her) . Wang He started admiring her resilience and her business sense and how smart she is. I am glad that she never asks him for help and carries her own weight and struggles.
And yes we saw all the moms who were smarter and more hard working than the men. This drama gives you a very realistic view
