King Is Not Easy - Review
Well, Im not even exactly sure how to start. This is a funny show. I have read a number of reviews, and have found that they are all about how bad the plot twist and the ending is, and i have to say: i agree. It's like, everything makes perfect sense, and im somewhat enjoying the drama series, and then suddenly the director's mind just gets fucked up, and he decides to pretend the last 17 and a half episodes were all just a dream. Like, if it really was a dream, then what was the point of all those episodes? To show how crazy and imaginative Da Xi's mind is? To make it seem to have depth, when its actully just a whole lotta shit? I really dont know. I think the series would be so much better off just ending when they change back. It would've made it the shortest - not that it isnt either way - series I've ever watched, but it would've had so much potential. Like, the acting was really good. I sincerely think it might've even been really popular and stuff, had it not been for the last 5 episodes. It's probably the reason its THE least well-known drama series Bai Lu has ever acted in.
The little funny comedy bits at the end with Bai Lu and Zhang Yi Jie as a modern day couple was really funny sometimes. It was a tiny bit strange, as it had NOTHING to do with the series itself, apart from having the same lead actors, but it was entertaining, and comedic.
Fun Tip: If it were me, and I'd known that it what such a load of shit, I wouldnt have watched it. Watch 'Till the End of the Moon' intsead. It's Bai Lu's new film, just finished streaming. It's quite a little longer - 40 episodes, i think, but its really good - SOOOOO much better than this one.
