This drama is one of the best when it comes to how real this issue is displayed. I may not agree with his method of treatment but I have to give it to the writer that this is very good writing about a very real condition that affects a lot of young and old men.
I'm a medical student and I can say that for what we've seen so far (only 4 episodes are out by the time of this review) everything about his condition seem very real. I don't know anything about the writer but they may know someone who has it or they themselves have this condition. Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition that affect a lot of men, normally in their later years but more and more people of younger ages experience it.
Many factors can lead to erectile dysfunction like chemichals, stress, life style, a trauma etc.
What we know s far is that:
1. He has had this condition for 2 years.
2. He hasn't been able to write novels since then.
3. He used to have a girlfriend at that time which lead to their break-up.
4. He is "cured" when he is with the main heroine.
This leads me to believe that he had a traumatic experience in a sexual matter about 2 years ago which lead to this condition. It may be linked to the main heroine. Maybe his first time was with our main heroine and when she left him after that and pretended he was invisible it left him scarred and something opened up that scar 2 years ago. I may be wrong as this is all speculations.
The fact that this condition lead to depression and insomnia is very true as most people experience that once they understand that something is wrong with their bodies and they can't fix it. Most people would visit a doctor once it comes to that, and if you think you have erectile dysfucntion I will recommend you see a sexologist and psychiatrist. There are ways to fix this condition, be it medicine or surgery.
This condition affects a small percent of young people like him, about 2-5% and it is very sad to see it affect such a young person in reproductive age.
This is a perfect set-up and I think the main heroine will be able to "fix" his problem.
