since mingyi gave in to his father’s demands because yazala was ordered exiled (basically a death sentence), couldn’t mingyi have just asked nares to protect her? yeah it might count as defying his father, but nares already offered mingyi protection if he left hongsawadi, which is also defiance anyway.
or he could’ve just run away with her to phitsanulok. aside from trying to protect yazala, i don’t really see why he stays in a kingdom that treats him like a prisoner. as the story goes on, why doesn’t he ever leave?
if it’s because he feels a duty to his country, it’d make more sense to leave now and come back with nares later to take hongsawadi back from his father.
i wonder if he ever finds out that his father took his grandfather's life. can't he piece it together though bc didn't his grandfather tell him he was passing on the title to him and not his father? doesn't he know what his dad is like?
