As the earlier comment said, they are trying to justify Li Mao's actions towards Wuyi while bro is obsessed over someone that doesn't belong to him. He is too controlling of Jia Yu which I noticed in very early episodes and is mad that she chose someone who is better and respsects her as a person and not as some possession. He lost my total respect when he told that justice is perspective instead of objective to Wu Yi. At this point he is simply a thought to be good guy showing his true colors
