I legitimately have a list called “When Rom Coms Aren’t Your Thing” on my profile because my preference is thrillers and horror (So, I know Uhm Tae Goo from his many dark roles.), but I can’t get enough of this.

You are not alone. I try to watch other stuff, but I somehow end up either rewatching or on YouTube watching the JTBC uploads. This show is exactly like the candy-looking drug in the show lol. Even the opening theme song is constantly on loop in my head.

So far there hasn’t been any murder or gore apart from a flashback that is most likely a misunderstanding. The ML and his roommates/employees are all reformed ex-cons who run a legitimate meat processing company, but people (including the 2ml) are prejudiced against them because they are ex-cons. This social commentary about ex-cons attempting to rebuild their lives in a world that thinks poorly of them is a refreshing perspective, and not one I expected from a drama that is otherwise a total fluff fest of romance and comedy. Going forward, the previews make it look like there will be some thriller-y moments, but previews are deceptive and even the scenes with actual gangs and criminals so far have ended up being funny. If light and funny is what you’re looking for, I recommend giving it a try.
