if u think he is ugly than you can choose not to watch his drama simple problem solve šŸ™
That’s not the truth. That’s your opinion.

I think he’s got a certain swagger that makes him more appealing than some other conventionally handsome actors. I find him quite attractive - that’s my personal opinion.

To answer your question why he’s a male lead - there must be many others who also appreciate him and don’t think he’s ā€œuglyā€.

The handsomely rude LJX who just crashes someones literature party, shamelessly attempts to throw his weight around…
Grandmother came too, to protect the family and FL, I liked that part as well.

The handsomely rude LJX who just crashes someones literature party, shamelessly attempts to throw his weight around got a big slap in the face by our dynamic duo ML & FL. I really love their tag team style chemistry šŸ˜ā™„ļø

Title The Rise of Ning Spoiler
I watched the first ep and went to the read the novel and then came back. Glad I did, because the drama is going in a much better direction than the novel. Notes to others - the novel contains some trigger stuff, so if you know you’re sensitive to this kind of stuff, don’t read it and stick to the drama. I am making this disclaimer, because I realized there’s no novel update page about it, which shows the tags.

The novel contains incest, pedophile, violence, grooming, and attempt rape

Would be interesting if all the novel readers wrote about the changes between the drama and novel, cause it’s quite a lot just from the few episodes that came out.

Every time I watch this "father", especially with his interactions with LSY, I wish they kept at least some attributes of novel LSY because when things changed, it was so so so satisfying. This man is so annoying.

Title Love in the Desert Spoiler
Ep 24-26 + Ending
Ok this was a rollercoaster of emotions. First off I was so freaking annoyed by how much screen time SML got. I literally got flashbacks from The Princess Royal. ML became a side accessory. SML had all the important scenes again, fighting against the villain, looking for the desert scroll, and don’t get me started on him cozying up again with the FL. Was the fake face switch between the princesses really necessary??

The most ridiculous part is FL saying to him ā€œyou have a pure loveā€ considering he literally tried to r**e her 3 times. And when I saw SML death I realised the writers wanted a memorable death scene so that’s why they focused on him, showing us he actually cares for SFL blah blah

What annoyed me most is that we never got a confrontation scene between ML and NZ. ML freaking witnessed NZ kill his father. NZ has been hunting down ML from the start. This whole thing was brushed over. They truly did Alen Fang’s character dirty.

SML DEATH: When NZ circled him with the horses I knew it was game over for him. The death scene was done really well. I did like the character as a red flag/nasty bandit but not so much his romance. Even though he acknowledged her as ā€œhis womanā€ she always felt like second place since he literally spend the whole drama chasing after FL and disgracing SFL.

ML DEATH: The scene was so anticlimactic and yet I got teary. I literally couldn’t believe he died by the quicksand. Well plot twist, he magically shows up in the end.

ENDING: FL and SFL both stab NZ because his arrogance is through the roof and he underestimated SFL (if only a little bird told him she is called a madwoman). The stabs was the most satisfying scene out of everything. Girl power! Boa Agents (that work for ML) take over. The real edict is revealed and ML is proclaimed the rightful Lord of the Desert. We all believe ML is dead and his subordinate has a fake mask with his face. But then he kisses FL and BOOM magically he is back. FL asks how he survived and he casually says ā€œBoa agents go anywhere and there are many holes under the sand ā€œ. I suppose with so much illogic in this drama, this answer is satisfying enough.

CONCLUSION:
Main couple = happy ending. FL and ML use the scrolls to help all the poor tribes in the desert. They become legends.

Second couple = sad ending but SFL gives birth to SML’s child.

🤣🤣🤣 Finished this last night and I for one was happy they gave Ruo Wen the big death he got since I'm in the 2nd leads were actually the main leads and better camp šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£ So when they tried doing the whole ML is fighting for HIS life and swallowed by quicksand bit I was literally laughing at the contrast. He didnt even get a SONG 🤣 JUST weird background music until he was being almost fully swallowed. Then "poof": "I'm alive..." "How?" "Idk, the writer wanted me to be so I am Yay me!"
