I was reluctant to watch this drama as suspense is not my cup of tea. However, I have enjoyed this one. Totally worth my time.

Title Cry Me a Sad River Spoiler
oh and also im confused with the text message, isn't yiyao the one that send the message to sunxiang letting her…
hii i watched this drama quite a long time ago so i may not remember everything clearly but from what i rmb, yiyao is dead, and qiming just decided to move somewhere else i guess (having senxiang and yiyao both passing away around the same time would have hurt so much for the male leads :()
i think yiyao's mum decided to quit her job (?) since that job was what caused yiyao's disease which was part of the reasons that led to her death

regarding the text message, iirc, the bad guys messaged yiyao with a message related to "qi ming's girlfriend" so that they can meet her to beat her up, but yiyao thought that the bad guys sent the message wrongly and that it was supposed to be sent to senxiang, so yiyao forwarded the message to senxiang. since sunxi once saved yiyao's number on senxiang's phone as "sister-in-law"? or smth , shunxiang thought that yiyao messaged her about qiming wanting to meet her, so thats why she went to the school and thats why everyone thought that yiyao was the one who set everything up(?) (i dont think they can tell its a forwarded message with those phones?? sorry i cant rmb the details very clearly haha) hope this clears up some of your confusions!

I’m surprised by the low rating. I binge watched this in a week. Haven’t had the urge to do that for any drama in years. It was very relatable and FL is a great role model. She was smart, independent, and didn’t bow down to societal norms. Also liked ML, if all men were as confident as him, they wouldn’t feel intimidated by strong women. Wish there were more men like him in real life. Maybe it was just me but it felt like Shanghai was a main character in the show. They talked about its dialect, cuisine, culture and it was all fascinating. The shots of the skyline were mesmerizing. Lastly I just want to mention Qin Lan is so pretty. When she smiles, she looks like an anime character coming to life. I would have liked the romance to start about 10 episodes earlier but other than that, it was a great show .No idea where these low ratings are coming from.

she is a nice actress but she is still very big for a child like DYLAN to play as a lover!
that's the point of the show, you get that? age gap?
you're not a fan of the storyline? fine, watch something else, there are plenty of dramas out there

I do hope it will air this year.I'm so excited to watch this.I'm really inlove with lusi.
Sadly it should be next year as much as we can't wait for this beautiful work UwU. They need to work on the post production since this is period drama.

Tencent is spending S+ class amount for the promotion so I'm sure they will do the post production carefully and will take some time.

Can't wait!! Lol I'm also in love with Lusi.

I’m watching less and less Cdramas now. The creativity has really suffered due to government bans and censorship. I like the lead actor in this one, however the storyline seems like it would be a perfect way for them to inject government propaganda. Which is another thing I’ve been seeing alot in Cdramas. Even dramas that are romantic are interjecting government propaganda. No thanks. I will stick to Jdramas, Tdramas, and Kdramas. They are creative and critical thinking is still allowed.
