I don’t really understand because I honestly think these days female audiences or even women in general have a great understanding of work culture and they are very mentally strong . I don’t think women expect her husbands to always protect them they are strong enough to stand for themselves.. but this show in my eyes show women as weaker I guess - maybe I am wrong but that’s what I feel
This is just my personal view, and I completely understand if others see it differently—no offence intended.
Overall, I did enjoy the drama. Its strongest aspects, for me, were the warm friendships between the housemates, the awareness it brought to depression, and the consistently strong acting from the entire cast. It also portrays how damaging and complicated a toxic relationship can become.
That said, I found Shang Zhitao to be one of the less well-written female characters. Some of her actions were more difficult for me to understand than Luan Nian’s. At times, she seemed to expect the rules to apply differently to her, particularly regarding their workplace relationship. The company had a policy around dating colleagues, yet she pursued a relationship with Luan Nian and later appeared to expect him to favour her professionally because they were together.
I also felt that her communication was often lacking, both with Luan Nian as a senior colleague and partner. Luan Nian certainly has his own issues especially his harsh manner and poor communication but, I can understand why he tried to keep work and personal matters separate.
Episode 21 was particularly frustrating for me. Workplace promotions can be competitive and, unfortunately, are not always fair. While Yilia’s promotion may have felt unfair, the situation could have been much worse given that their photos had been circulated; if the company had exposed the relationship or dismissed her, that would have had serious consequences. Their breakup was the most comforting thing throughout the drama for me for which I have been eagerly waiting from 15th episode.
So, while the drama had several meaningful themes and great performances, certain aspects of Shang Zhitao’s character made it difficult for me to connect with her.

Do you think I should start this drama again? I watched 7 episodes and dropped but I feed bad for ZLH - not that he is gonna mind it but I feel like betraying him by not watching his drama 🙈

I thought about watching this for the longest time and finally decided to start it a couple of days ago. I’m already on episode 11, and honestly, I regret not watching it when it was first released!
So far, I’m really enjoying it. The story is fast-paced, and there haven’t been many slow or dragging moments, which is something I really like. I’ve seen quite a few comments about the second part of the drama, so I’m a little curious about how it will go, but I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it just as much as I’m enjoying it now.
My only small issue is with Ding Yuxi’s styling. At times, he is made to look a bit too bulky, and personally, I don’t think it suits his usual style very well. Other than that, I’m having a great time watching it so far and would definitely recommend giving it a try!
