There better be a part 2

This is a silly lightweight but enjoyable drama primarily about the FL's storyline. Throughout silliness tidbits of the ML's more dramatic story are periodically dropped in to whet your appatite for what is to come.

But just when the ML's storyline starts to kick into gear... POOF! IT ENDS! What the heck?

Now I am crossing my fingers and really hope this was their cliffhanger for part two. (Come on everyone, let's all cross our fingers and toes and concentrate reel hard on that Part 2.)

But I unfortunately fear that the production company might have run out of funds and just thrown in a quick wrapup on the end.

Music: no clue, didn't really notice it.
Production: pretty good. Not lush but decent.
Acting: I think the actors were quite good.
Story: a little thin but some quite funny scenes.
Directing : well since it held together pretty well and the acting held up, I would say it was good.

NOT a romance & not everyone's cup of tea.

Teenage sexual awakening. Infatuation, lust and hero worship are ultimately confused with love. This dorama is sensual, odd, kinky, sexy, debauched, and the unpredictable ending was ultimately for me unsatisfying but probably fairly realistic.
I've watched it a several times.
I started watching the anime and was surprised that the storyline was exactly the same as the live action.

I happened to already love Sakurada Dori and became a fan of Yoshimoto Miyu by watching this. Her roll was definitely the most difficult. Though many of the characters were unlikable
all of the actors were very good.

Script excellent and true to the anime.

Direction: excellent.

Sound track: no idea if there even was one.

Production: Excellent, though many might miss that because the settings can be quite bleak at times.

Rewatch ability: for me excellent. I've watched it at least three times.

Silly fun..Rewatchability, EXCELLENT

I've watched this half dozen times already. I just really enjoy the lead
actors interaction. The incredibly handsome but cold general his imo very pretty but forced marriage wife. She is goofy but charming. The generals mother is great and there are some amusing scenes of her insisting on a grandchild as soon as possible. There are the loyal, amusing and sweet attendants. The kooky gentleman who becomes enamoured of the wife and keeps sneaking in the back door for her cooking. Lastly there's the villain we love to hate... I hate her so much I've been fast forwarding past her the last few times I've watched... Did I mention I've watched a half dozen times already?

The acting is good.

The costumes and locations are often very beautiful. As is the decor in most cases.

OST... Not sure there is one. The sound gets very weird at times. It seems to be how that production company manages the budget.

Rewatchability, EXCELLENT.

Taboo emotions w/uncomfortable psychological issues

I agree he's a dick, but how does a teenage boy deal with sexual expression? In the US, these emotions are usually portrayed as getting a girl drunk and raping her.

Someone here said Japan is not afraid to tackle uncomfortable and or forbidden situations. I agree ? percent.

Being a dick is not an unnatural response to extreme psychological confusion. It seems to me that many commenters here are either disappointed that there's not a lot of titillation in the film. Or they find even the idea of experiences portrayed here unnatural.

I found the film very realistic though it might have been more clearly portrayed in a dorama with more time for the viewer to tackle these taboo subjects.

Perhaps I understand more because I speak from similar (not identical) personal experience with incest.

As the movie progressed I recalled an article or discussion on twin obstetrics. Twins are naked and in extremely close contact for the first 9 months of life. There have even been cases of C-section births where the siblings were found to be in a close embrace. Toddler twins can go through emotional distress when parted.

LIGHT WEIGHT FUN

the relationship between the two main characters was really sweet but still had sex appeal. the acting was enjoyable throughout.
I also appreciate not having my emotions on a constant rollercoaster.

Unfortunately, in series 1 the sound vanished several times for a minute or two. The fact that I use CC allowed me to keep up with the dialogue but it still disrupts the experience. Additionally, towards the end of series 2 the music track was much louder than it should be. Of course I still had CC but it affects the experience.

Also, as is often the case watching on YouTube, the beginning was chopped off. The FL was already reincarnated. Fortunately, at that point we have her thoughts as she figures out what is going on.

Be aware of the Genre!

Excellent acting, writing, direction.
This is a tension filled horror short about a comic and a "joke" gone very wrong. There is another important aspect which ends up controlling the story. But, talking about it would be a major spoiler. Part of the fun/stress of this story is figuring out what is actually going on before the protagonist does.
When I watched this I didn't pay attention to the Genre. I watched because of the cast and writer. at some point I debated not continuing to finish it. In the end I'm glad I watched it but don't plan to watch again. Nearly the entire time is spent in a windowless space set up primarily as an internet studio.

Tension, Nightmares, Dream Reality. Blood, Beautiful AND Nothing You Expect.

I hope potential viewers read many of the reviews for a more balanced understanding of what is ahead of them. (I usually prefer not to be influenced and didn't read until afterwards.)

If you haven't watched many surealist films (there are actually many) perhaps it will be confusing. There are in a way more than one story being told. The linear movement that leads to the change of location and gives the main character her instructions AND the story which is contained within the nightmares and flashbacks of the main character. The nightmares become clues for the viewer despite not yet being clues for the dreamer. There are also clues to look, AND listen for in the dreamy reality of the daytime scenes.

Some have complained about the subtitles but I didn't even notice. In most dramas or films I usually have to rewind several times to catch what is said.

The music is a nonentity except for the occasions where it is performed by a character. This is when the subtitles are a bit more difficult.

The cinematography is beautiful.

In my opinion the acting was great.

I liked the script.

Therefore I think the director did a great job.

Some reviewers thought there was not enough fleshing out of the family members shown in the actual memories. I suggest this be interpreted as how the main character experienced those people.

Rewatch potential; immediately after watching I thought, well if I could see it on a larger ( TV ) screen rather than my tablet I might.

After reading many of the reviews I feel more eager to watch again.

It is Beautiful AND Nothing You Expect.
