A very enjoyable sitcom.

Oh, finished this drama and I gotta say, it was a really nice slice of life/sit com. I get that many people might not highly enjoy it since the slice of life genre can truly get boring and draggy to some, I know cause I watched tons, but still found myself bored to death while watching a good amount of them indeed, but this drama was very easy to watch. Didn't really feel bored, it wasn't flawless, but still very enjoyable.

Now about my personal opinions:

Positives:

1- I love Seul Ki character and most of the characters. Seul Ki is strong mentally, able to fight physically and protect herself and others, fair, active, loyal, and hard working/ambitious. Suk can be annoying as hell at times by being too moody, pessimistic, a professional overthinker, idealistic, and grumpy, but other times he was very pleasantly relatable, loveable (For being logical, loyal, friendly, and very straightforward), and funny. We have very similar personalities honestly so I couldn't help but like him.

Loved the bromance between him and the Pil Su, with the whole older gen + younger gen being friends/basically mix of past and present concept. Hyeon Su was also cute even though he barley had screen time, I would totally want to be his friend. The wife's brother, the "author", and shark Loan lady were also very likeable and the old lady's house is beautiful, wish I lived in such a place lol
Even Suk's father and Alex were a fun characters.

Overall cast were great, even though I didn't see most of them acting before in other dramas.

2- Pil Su is so loveable, very social, and cheerful, I loved him and wished I had a father like him. He was my favorite character which is new to me cause I rarely have an old/middle aged character as my favorite. The actor nailed his role and carried the drama. Also I guess he handled the whole thing between his wife and the author in a very open minded way, instead of instantly throwing hands and assuming shit just like he said. In a way it showed how much he trusted his wife. Although he started getting all childish during the dinner by bragging too much.

3- The drama was both realistic and relatable, but also funny and absurd. It was a good balance.

4- The romance between Seul Ki and Suk was the only romance I truly liked, that scene when he almost fell and Seul Ki held him then they stared at each other for an hour was funny, it was a good change from the typical ML holding the FL to keep her from falling one. I mean yes! It's 100% normal to have the woman be the physically strong and badass one while the guy is the smart yet fragile one or whatever, not all women need to be the weak damsel in distress.

Though did they need to make both Seul Ki and Suk motherless? Like seriously, that was over dramatic. Might as well make Seong Mi die so Jun Pyo can join the club lmao reminds me of action shounen animes where almost all protagonist characters are orphans/have at least one parent dead to add too much drama and angst.

Negatives:

1- Why in these types of plots they always make the wife the "villain" character and the husband the fun parent?! The wives are the controlling, scary, gloomy, nagging bitch who love spreading misery and making everyone stressed and suffocated. The wife didn't only suffocate her son and husband but also me. Like damn woman, if you don't like being poor and working like a donkey why didn't you marry a rich doctor or something?

Especially since she was the "May Queen" so she could easily make a rich dude fall for her. No one forced her to marry her martial artist husband, yet she act as if everything they went through is his fault and she is the only victim.
At least the dude respects her, is very faithful (Especially when many men think they have the right to cheat while their wives should be loyal all the time. Having a faithful husband who care that much about his wife and kids is like a rare treasure), caring, funny, optimistic, and hard working.

Also the fact that she forces her son to like study all day long everyday is just horrifying. He wakes up early to go to school, then go to an English academy, then a study cafe supposedly, then come back home at 8-11 PM? To study a bit then sleep and repeat. What kind of life and childhood is that?! The fact that he didn't commit suicide is great in itself, and like he said the parents be like "Oh, you can have fun after you become an adult so fuck your childhood and youth".

Like all that drama when they could just allow him to have like 2-3 hours in that Hip Hop place every now and then after studying or after school to have fun and recharge his batteries and mood...studying is important and useful, but having fun is as equally important to keep your sanity, and giving kids support may lead them to become more excited to study and make their parents proud as a repay just like Anna said. At least the wife started to calm down a bit after episode 11 and did what I said before.

2- The whole romance between the kids, couch No and Bok Soon, were all cheesy to death! I can barely stand high school romance dramas, let alone romance stuff between actual kids, and to make it worse they made it a love triangle by adding that other annoying, nosy, stuck up, chubby girl to the formula. Like girl, you already knew Jun Pyo liked Anna so why decide to fall for him out of the blue, then try your best to make him pissed off and ruin their relationship along with getting him in trouble with his parents?!

Then Jun Pyo's guy friend ends up hating him because chubby girl liked him to add more stupid drama. Not gonna lie I was glad Jun Pyo finally started having a personality instead of being utterly meek, but at times he was indeed too bratty, still having an overly controlling parent could lead to that, and it was obvious that Anna was into Jun Pyo...glad they didn't make the kids kiss or something after confessing, I for sure wouldn't wanna see that, especially when the actors are clearly kids, not adults pretending to be kids.

Also just because Anna got dyed hair and some visible make up she is considered a delinquent/thug?! Really?

The romance between that coach No and the woman he likes was also very cringe and stupid...wish they spend the time they wasted in these lame romance scenes on developing the romance between Seul Ki and Suk more, I was kinda sad that they weren't officially dating in the lat episode. Like seriously how come the kids had more romance related scenes than the adults?!

3- The rap/hip hop subplot/moments were also painful to watch, like damn everyone from Montana to Jun Pyo and Anna doing/acting lik that made me cringe. I do love rap music, but in this drama it was just not great or necessary. They all were sweet personality-wise and the actors good at acting, but I just wish they got rid of the hip hop bullshit. Their outfits were great though.

Couldn't care less about Anna's audition and both of her and that Chae Yeon barley knew how to dance for people wanting to become idols...
To add insult to the injury Jun Pyo had to interfere and pretend to be able to rap so that Anna could continue her audition, that was awful, and then all top companies want him yet he wants to study...lol

4- Sharon, I hate her, all her comedy scenes were over the top and lame, I also hate her two best friends, and how she basically almost lead to a serious issue between Pil Su, Eun Ho, and Seong Mi when she said that crap (That Seong Mi went to the author's house, instead of her house) during the dinner, but I guess Seong Mi had to pay the price for lying to her husband anyway. Even Sharon's son looked retarded with his ugly hairstyle outdated and outfits (not hating on the kid himself but the style, I was dying to fix his hair and give him some decent clothes).

Watching these hag characters act like retards is just...too much! The scenes of them and Seong Mi complaining about being mothers/wives was just...did someone force you all to get marry and become mothers?! (I know I may sound like a bitch by saying this, but seriously, if you want to have your life be filled with career success, fun, and freedom don't marry nor have kids, everyone knows doing such things ain't easy and it's filled with responsibilities and hardships so why complain later when you already know it? Especially when someone isn't rich marriage and parenthood is a literal nightmare! And the kids pay the price for everything when they have zero fault and didn't have a choice).

5- Eun Ho and Seong Mi's one sided love thing was pointless, like why? It almost made her seem as if she was having a love affair, Eun Ho was just tragic, felt sorry for him getting stuck for years with his first love thing, but also pissed off that he is kinda chasing after a married woman with a kid. Glad they didn't turn it nto a cheating plot, I really can't stand cheating and cheaters (Like La La J's rude and fake fiancé) even if it's just a drama. Eun Ho's actor has a very soothing aura and a gorgeous smile though, would love to see more of his works in other dramas.

To be fair it was his fault for not confessing before she met her now husband, just like it was her fault for not marrying a hot rich dude to make her live the luxury life style she keeps complaining about and wishing for. Also it will be better if Seong Mi was honest about the whole friendship thing between them to her husband since the start, this is why so many relationships get ruined easily, cause people lie, hide stuff, overthink, overreact, and lose their shit over the stupidest things.

If people be 100% honest so many dumb misunderstandings would be solved in like two seconds, and just like Pil Su said both Eun Ho and Seong Mi didn't need to hide it cause they didn't do anything bad anyway, you only hide things so hard when something bad happens.

6- I really hated Suk's two friends who betrayed him. Especially the perverted, talkative, airhead, hypocrite, and annoying one. At least Mr. Lee knew and admitted he was an evil and selfish bastard.

7- The whole issue between Suk and his two past friends was a bit illogical to me. Like they could do the Golden Cupid app then after they get famous and rich enough to have their own fucking company or something, they could start developing the Neighbor 24 app together afterwards. Was it really that much of a big deal to Suk that they must do the Neighbor 24 app first?

Like the Golden Cupid one could be focused on romance and profit related stuff while the neighbor 24 other stuff like friendship, finding people/places/stuff, memories, and values...etc why not make two apps that make everyone happy and benefit instead of one?
Besides Mr. Lee didn't need to rush and sign a contract with the frozen witch without talking to Suk first to see his point of view for the last time.

8- The lame thugs plot, Frozen Witch trying so hard to be a villain, Eun Ho having to resign, and that foolish landlord wanting to buy the restaurant were also not necessary. It added too much pointless drama and made the plot a bit too repetitive.

Like landlord was the reason Pil Su and his family had to suffer and almost got thrown on streets and then he decides to ruin their business again, and the witch who is basically the only truly successful woman in that field or something according to the plot and they had to make her a total low bitch..really? Of course every woman in a high position and able to accomplish grand things that are good as men or even better is supposed to be cruel, cold, bossy, and stuck up! I have seen that trope a bit too much and they refuse to let it die Lmao

Episode 15 got a bit overly heavy and dramatic. Especially for the episode before the last, but the ending was happy and satisfying. Glad that Eun Ho started working with Pil Su to help others, and Suk finally got his investment.

One of the best historical Kdramas I've ever watched!

I started watching this drama while having low expectations honestly, I saw Cha Eun Woo as the ML and so I decided to give it a chance, but wasn't sure how it will turn out since his acting in his previous works (I mean ones before True Beauty and Island) weren't that good. But his character's personality was pretty close to his one in Island so he done great actually, he is improving clearly, and I liked his spoiled, adorable, and meschivous prince character. He looked flawless and stunning in the traditional style.

FL was very likeable too and had a real personality, she is brave, smart, logical, funny, honest, hard working, fair, and strong mentally, not just your typical dense damsel in distress or annoying rude bitch. Yes, she gets in trouble and the guys do try to help her, but still she also make accomplishments and help them back. She also didn't have her whole life revolved around ML, she truly cared about her passions/career as well. Actress is cute and her acting was good. Their chemistry was pretty good as well.

I highly enjoyed the romance between them, it was healthy, fluffy, cute, chill, realistic, straightforward, and simple without too much angst, stupid misunderstandings, and zero toxicity. They are now added to my top straight couples list.
Her older brother was sweet, I enjoyed their relationship.

Plot was pretty good, it has some nice political issues that kept me focused, without feeling bored not even once, a perfect balance of comedy/romance moments and the serious/dark moments, and surprisingly it didn't get draggy nor overcomplicated and dramatic although it has 20 episodes (40 episodes if watched in 30 minutes duration version).

Loved the relationship between the ML and his older brother, they had such heartwarming and unfazed bromance, and the crown prince totally deserved to be the king instead of their shit father. They both grew up as good men although the king is messed up.
The supposed 2nd ML (Historian officer Min) was also a decent and respectable guy.

The ML's servant eunuch was funny, loved the way he acted around the prince, he sometimes acted like his friend, while other times as his humorous and energetic grandfather. The price would turn up all cold and depressed probably if it wasn't for the eunuch and his brother. The two servant girls of the prince were also cute, even though they barely had lines.

The leader of the historians (Officer Yang) was annoying as hell at first, I mean yeah most of them were misogynic as hell (Which isn't surprising considering the era), but damn I wanted to slap him at times. Surprisingly he later became among my top characters, and I couldn't help but laugh whenever he appeared. The male historians overall became likeable when they stopped being too mean to the girls and started viewed them as equals.

The budget, outfits, hairstyles, make up, filming sets all looked quite beautiful (Especially the outfits of prince Dowon, I especially loved that dark purple outfit and the pink and blue outfit with the hat that has a green peacock feather, beads, and red ribbon he wore when he went to the plague filled village. The color pink fits perfectly with Cha Eun Woo, he looks majestic with it, and for the first time I thought a guy looked hot while wearing that type of lame looking hat), the OSTS were good, and I ended up binge watching the drama in few days and enjoyed it quite a lot. Every episode was better than the previous.

They also showed girl power/feminism in the plot in a good way (Unlike the one shown in Love To Hate You for example in which the women and men just existed to bash and hate on each other), in this drama they did show that women can be capable, ambitious, hard working, and brave just like any man if they are given the opportunity to use their talents properly, yes they face misogyny and harassment, they struggle to have equal rights and find themselves constantly controlled by unfair men, traditions, and laws but:

1- Not all the men are awful. Some like the crown prince, that chief of the military, the dethroned king (Who was the true supporter of equal rights no matter their gender or status), officer Min, prince Dowon...etc are pretty decent guys. They didn't try so hard to make everyone a scum. And the rude male historians started changing when they realized that the girls aren't as incompetent and stupid as they believed at start.
The men like the princes also struggle to be free and have to follow the royal rules, the can't even easily be with the women they love nor do what they want all the time. So in a way both genders face issues.

2- Mostly the girls had a very healthy relationship with each other, I thought the girls historians would hate on each other for some lame reason like over men, but nope, they helped ad liked each other. Even the queen dowager (Whom wasn't at fault, her on was wrongfully killed and had his reputation ruined, then his son was treated like shit), that doctor woman, crown princess, and few others were good women. Not sly, envious, slutty, and calculating. They also didn't need to be tomboyish or act vulgar to be considered strong or anything (Since many shows make it seem as if a strong woman is the one who tries to act as much as possible as men, all violent, or literally crossdress, while being girly and physically non tough makes her weak). The FL managed to use her words, brain, and actions to make everyone admire her and admit her ability to make a difference, including the king himself.

3- Like I said before the romance between main leads was pretty healthy, not that much cringe moments, no abusive ML with toxic masculinity. He can be soft, a coward, insecure, clingy, childish, naïve, awfully innocent, kind hearted, and romantic, not just a hero/knight in shining armor wannabe type. I liked that FL was the bold one in the relationship, and even was the one who would constantly kiss and hit on ML without hesitation instead of acting overly coy forever. Both of them supported and helped each other equally.
They had a big age gap with FL being the older one, and although I'm really not into age gaps that are more than 2-4 years, I didn't even care about it in this drama cause I simply loved them together.

The historians job, although important clearly, is still very boring, like imagine spending your days writing all day long about every fucking thing and breathe the royal family takes/does. Even writing about what they eat and them taking a dump lol The royal family as well always have to spend their days being watched by someone who stares at them as a hawk and writes about everything they do, like having CCTV everywhere in your house, it's horrifying! Lmao

The main villain (Officer Min's father) was well written, he wasn't your typical overly greedy and cartoonish type of evil who laughs loudly and tell his evil plans to everyone, he was actually very scheming, creepy, and had a pure selfishness about him that I liked, kind of a psychopath who didn't seem to have emotions nor care about anyone including his family, he was a total jerk who believed he was completely right till the end, but a good written one which made the plot even better.

The only thing that bothered me about the romance is that the FL kept saying she doesn't want to just be a wife and stay locked in her house serving her husband according to what I got, and I do understand that logic fully, being a housewife isn't bad or anything, but not wanting to be one is also not a bad thing. Still if the FL knew that was her goal since the start then why she fell for the prince and became his secret lover?! She gave him hope and made him get all obsessed with her like a child (Which makes sense since he is very young and was sheltered since birth so of course he will be naïve and reckless and will fall in love pretty quick), didn't she know it could end up with them marrying and her having to play the housewife role?? That part kinda upset me. Also the kiss scenes weren't as romantic as I hoped them to be, they weren't literally bad, but not great either.

The ending was logical and satisfying, it's refreshing seeing a historical drama filled with rightful people including most of the royal family. I like that in the end the leads became official lovers without even bothering to marry, the gender roles went out the window with FL going to do her job early in morning while ML stays home and waits for her (Unless he has to go on a trip to find inspiration to write on his books) while trying to come up with ways to look hot and romantic and seduce her lmao. It was basically a historical drama with a modern mindset and vibe.

Anyway what started as a drama that I had zero expectations for, ended up in my favorite historical & Korean dramas lists, and with a 10/10 rating, and I although I'm not into rewatching stuff, I wouldn't mind rewatching it someday in future. Especially the romance moments between leads.

Well...I guess it was better than season one?

Well this season was a bit better than the first one I suppose, but it was still more on the boring side to me. I don't know why, I just didn't feel as hyped and immersed as many other watchers in the plot nor the characters and at some point I became more interested in ML than FL.

Most of the villain characters were kinda one dimensional to me including their leader Yeon Jin, I liked Jae Jun the most among all of them (I loved all his outfits. Personality-wise he was the most realistic, and to be honest, he is really hot lol that mullet hairstyle fit him well). I was a bit surprised by how he instantly became all affectionate towards his daughter and acted like an actual father when he realized she was his child. Also most of them constantly cursing and acting as vulgar as they can was cliché as hell, they were all cartoonish evil at some point.

One is a selfish drug addict who swears more than she breathes, one is a gross and perverted thug who supposedly likes the slut, one is a pure evil bitch, one is a dumb slut that is into the narcissist, and the last is a narcissist who pretends to love the evil bitch. (I seriously found the addict, thug, and the slut gross as fuck as characters, not because they were bad guys, I do like some evil characters more than main ones at times when they are well written, but the way the characters in Glory were written was gross and lame to me, got tired of seeing them instantly, the actor and actresses done pretty good though acting-wise)

Another gross character is that male teacher with heidious hairstyle who liked to bother the FL, he was a pedophile, and gave massive sexual offender and incel vibes lmao why did he exist in first place?? Yes it's okay to show these things in dramas to raise awareness about such problems, but we didn't need more drama and fillers in the plot, not literally everyone needs to be a piece of shit and harass the FL.

Besides what was the point of the scene where the slut/Hae Jeon takes off her shirt and shows off her boobs, now she indeed has nice boobs and I'm all for nudity and mature content/graphic and kinky sex scenes in dramas/movies, but when they have a point and serve the plot. Some examples about what I'm talking about are A Frozen Flower, Call Boy, The Naked Director, and . All these movies/dramas had nudity, graphic sex scenes, and even BDSM stuff but they never felt gross or odd cause they helped the plot a lot and were the focus. Some of the scenes were even hot and enjoyable.

Here this scene was just for shock value and that's it (Netflix just love to fill shows with pointless nudity and sex scenes out of the blue, that even includes animes), so it made me a bit bothered, I really like this actress and I know she was a member of SNSD/Girls' Generation, which all made me even more uncomfortable having them make her show her chest out suddenly.

If the actress is fine with it, that's the most important thing, but I just don't like it when they use women naked bodies and private areas for "artistic", shock value, or fan service purposes (Yeah I know they also do fan service with guys, but they mostly show their abs and upper half of body which aren't private areas, sometimes they show their asses which isn't that big deal to me, but they never show their dicks at least). If this was a drama about mature romance, porn/sex related jobs, sexual crimes (Like the movies/dramas I mentioned earlier)...etc then I wouldn't care even if they literally show someone's dick or vagina, but it's not so why?

Yeon Jin's husband was a boring character, he just existed. Like he literally realized his wife is a cheater, sociopath, murderer, and liked to do heinous stuff, yet he still didn't instantly divorce her. Like really?! Who cares if she is his wife or his daughter's mother, such a woman shouldn't be out on streets, let alone raise a child (Yeah, I know he also did something bad at the end, but well Jae Jun earned it in a way).

That middle aged woman who helped FL in exchange of getting rid of her husband was stupid as hell, grew tired of the melodramatic sub-plot about her and her daughter pretty quick. Yes domestic abuse is an awful thing, but I just couldn't get into it in the drama. One good thing about her is that she knew her daughter didn't have any fault at what happened and she shouldn't pay the price for her mother picking to marry a shithead.

The romance between ML and FL...I didn't feel it at all. First it was quite clear that ML is way younger than FL (I mean the actors, I know their characters supposedly are of close ages in the plot, but it was still clear that the actress is way older than him). Well, it's not a big deal as long as both are adults I suppose, but wish they made them fit more.
The ML tried his best to play the obsessed, loving boyfriend role, his acting was pretty good and convinced me.

The chemistry though was barley visible to me. Even when they said "I love you" to each other, the FL seemed dead inside and ML was trying hard to make it convincing, but it didn't work. They should've just made them partners in crime/revenge and that's it instead of the forced romance that didn't really fit with the overall plot. I know they added it cause they are obsessed with adding romance to everything and maybe to have the FL be less lonely and more humane, still when it comes to horror, thriller, psychology, action, sci fi, and crime genres it's better to not add any pointless romance that might effect the plot negatively. It's fine when it helps the plot, but not when it doesn't.

Honestly I couldn't help but think that the ML and Yeon Jin's husband wouldn't give two fucks about FL if she wasn't pretty...it's her beauty and mysterious vibe that lured them into falling for her charm, then since ML is a bit of a psycho himself (And it's clear from the fact that he latched to FL too much even though they didn't interact that much or long to begin with, too much that his mother knew he would kill himself if FL dies and had to chase after FL to make her get back with him, that whole part made me dislike the romance more).

He became even more into her since he realized they both had serious mental issues and dark past, so basically put two utterly broken and suicidal people together and make them a couple since misery loves company, that is a toxic concept lol they both need serious therapy sessions instead. Making your whole life revolved around someone, and if that someone breaks up with you or dies you kill yourself as response, it's creepy and sad, not romantic. I personally have experience with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts so I know damn well this type of shit isn't the best solution/cure.

Yeon Jin's husband liked the intelligent and serious aura of FL, she is quite different than his materialistic, fake, and shallow wife.

Anyway it felt the plot was trying so hard to be as complicated and dark as possible, and the characters were supposed to be as disturbing and smart as possible, but everything fell flat. Everyone were either evil, or self-loathing and mentally crippled. I couldn't like the FL, yeah her story is sad, although they tried to make her a bit overly tragic by adding her mother being a scum as well, like we get it, she is miserable! But I still couldn't like her. I just couldn't like any of the characters that much.

Only interesting thing about the plot is that it's inspired by a real case in South Korea and that's it. The scene when that shaman died due to that girl "ghost" made the plot more stupid to me. I thought they were trying to be more on the realistic side, why add supernatural elements to it?!

The ending was well...happy? Everyone bad got punished, everyone good kinda got revenge, FL and ML supposedly will live happily ever after, yet it didn't feel that happy nor greatly satisfying yeah, it was just depressing and cliché, I guess that fits since the plot is overly gloomy anyways.

One of the best dramas to watch when you mostly want to chill and have some laughs.

It's been long since I watched an adult rom com Kdrama that is this wholesome, chill, realistic, straightforward, and funny. The FL was awfully likeable and sweet (Yeah she does start as kinda stuck up and whiny, but changes greatly pretty quick. Besides I related to her about being impatient and caring a lot about honesty in relationships), I loved all of her outfits too, especially that pink one, the white dress, and green & red dress in eps 12 and 13, they fit her perfectly. Everyone's style overall was nice.

Both the main and second male leads were a 10/10 boyfriend materials, I would be okay if FL chose to be with 2nd male lead too which is rare (Only other Kdrama were I also loved both the male leads along with the FL was True Beauty), since most of time only one of the male leads will be super likeable while the other will be a total jerk, or the FL will be annoying as heck and unworthy of both of the male leads' attention.

The main leads here had very strong and natural chemistry so it felt like watching an actual couple goofing around and being grossly lovey dovey, I did feel jealous not gonna lie. Their way of behaving mostly after they became a couple luckily wasn't painfully cringe for their ages, just moderate level, FL did get quite childish at times, but it wasn't irksome, just amusing. I think I will add them to my top 10 straight couples list. I just dig healthy adult couples <3 the marriage proposal scene killed me, love it when for a change the girl propose first, but his reaction was hilarious.

They all handled their feelings in a very healthy and mature way, confessed straightforwardly and simply. The upbeat friendship between male leads was adorable to see (I highly admired how Director Ji decided to stay friends with ML and treated him normally even after knowing him and FL are into each other instead of turning into a bitter prick), also I liked how that FL decided to reject him instantly after ML told her he liked her back, instead of letting him have false hopes for days and gave the luck charm back. At least 2nd ML still had another woman who cared for him.

The town people were also pretty funny and likeable (Maybe except that Chinese restaurant lady whom I wished would go completely mute at some point lol, but apart from her everyone else were cool). The FL had a very cute and strong friendship with her bestie which was also great to see since in many dramas female relationships gets ruined and they stab each other in the back all the time by them fighting over guys and crap of the sort. I even enjoyed the romance between the awkward police dude and FL's friend. The OSTs were pretty good.

The FL's parents were sweet as well (Glad her father approved of ML and regretted the crap he said about him, he was a decent father and her step mother was decent as well, even though lots of times they like to make step parents evil as hell). The town looks beautiful, wouldn't mind living there myself honestly, and the overall cast were great, the main leads are really good looking (Especially ML, not gonna lie I have a crush on this actor now since I'm really weak to hot guys with gorgeous smiles and sexy manly voices).

Of course there were some typical clichés like:

1- The main leads meeting each other before as kids, teens, and even back when ML wanted to commit suicide she saw him (The whole fate bullshit).

2- Them having tragic past stories is also a huge cliché. Like why are Asians obsessed with making everyone orphans??! Even in anime 80% of MCs have both/one of their parents dead or have messed up/abusive/neglectful parents and cursed family tree. ML here had everyone he cared about die, his parents, his grandfather, Ms. Gam Ri, the man whom he viewed as an older brother (Who happened to be the director's cousin husband to add salt to the wound), there was also the whole thing about that dude's paralyzed father, I was expecting the FL to die as well to complete the cycle lmao that was just overly dramatic and depressing!

Loved how everyone freaking said all that shit was Du Sik's fault, like that dude's father made the choice to risk his money without talking to him first and paid the price for it, Du Sik tried his best to help them financially too. The director's brother in law made the choice to drive the car that day, and yet ML had to handle all the burden for years and even got blamed for everything...yeah they were heartbroken so they lashed out on him and basically made up with him later, but it's still unfair. That whole part just pissed me off.

3- The town people being a bit retarded and weird at first (In this type of shows the town people always start as backwarded and judgmental assholes for some reason then turn into very likeable people afterwards).

4- Also I didn't give two fucks about the love triangle between the Zone chief, Village chief, and that teacher.

5- The ML getting hurt while protecting the FL from some criminal maniac or perverted bastard, male leads always have to play the hero role and save the damsel in distress.

6- That childbirth scene...love how that woman easily gave birth without filling the whole bed, her own clothes, and the FL clothes with blood and sometimes even poop...etc they make childbirth seem like you just pull the baby out of the damn vagina cleanly and that's it, in reality the dentist's bedroom would look like a homicide scene, with blood and horrifying sights everywhere, especially since she gave birth in a house and in a rushed manner instead of a hospital so it will be more messy.

7- The main leads hiding their relationship for a while, I mean I get that yes the town people would tease them to death, but still like ML said they will end up knowing anyways so what's the point of them acting as if they are having an affair and then FL ends up hitting/slapping the ML whenever someone sees them being romantic by accident, that was a bit too cringe and rude for my liking and I felt sorry for him.
Finding out that everyone already knew yet they all decided to punish them by separating them for some time till they admit it themselves was golden though. But all said clichés weren't much of a big deal in the end, and I forgot about them later due to how good the drama was.

8- The ads were so in your face lol, I get they are important and all, but they always get me a bit out of the mood.

Another thing, Bo Ra...why is that kid's hair dyed?! I mean I do dig hair dye and all, and would love to try many colors myself, but a child that awfully young having her hair dyed was just odd, first time seeing a child like that in an Asian drama for me especially since that in Asia they seem to mostly hate dyed/bright unnaturally colored hair, even adults would get judged sometimes for it (Unless they are celebrities) and they ban it in many schools there. I think it makes sense to at least wait till someone is a teenager then try such things, hair dye is toxic and can lead to the ruin of someone's hair if used too much, so kids need to stay away from chemicals as long as possible be it dye or beauty cosmetics/creams to give their bodies a chance to grow properly. No need to rush lol

The revelation about that teacher being a lesbian was surprising, never guessed the reason she never bothered with relationships was due to her being gay, that was a bit depressing since her family didn't approve of it and treated her like a maniac, even forcing her to leave the town to stay away from the girl she liked. Then she gets confessed to by the guy who got married to her first love, that all was just choatic as heck! I didn't care about the love triangle, but still felt sad about the teacher being that miserable, at least the zone chief didn't discriminate against her.

Anyways this drama was a 10/10 for me, I binged it in like four days, it's highly rewatchable (Although I rarely rewatch stuff), and a great way to cheer up my mood and relax (As long as you forget about the awfully sad two last episodes, the ending is happy for everyone though).

Nice movie to pass time, great cast/songs, but no unique plot/characters.

Well, I didn't know what to expect when watching this movie, but since both Satoh Takeru and Kubota Masataka which are among my top 10 Japanese actors are in it (And both looked hot as fuck with those hairstyles), I couldn't help but watch it instantly. Unsurprisingly the movie was actually good, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Although I don't understand why the girl had to be a high schooler...when is that fetish gonna end in Japan seriously!

If ML was a fellow teen then I wouldn't nag, but it's almost always a minor girl and adult dude, it could be a college girl and an older dude instead. There is also that CEO or whatever he is supposed to be guy (Whom mari cheated on Aki with), who is also a total creep. He discovered Mari back when she was a student, then he sleeps with her later. What is this?! I personally would never view someone I knew since they were a minor that way even after they become an adult Lmao

The girl had the typical looks/personality we see in Japanese romance plots. She has the usual short hair that is preferably brown or light colored (Her hairstyle is ugly, but somehow the actress made it work on her so it looked decent, but on most people it will look hideous), cute and childish facial features (Which isn't a problem at all to clarify, I'm not bashing her looks, she is adorable and I know that's also the Japanese beauty standard, besides she is playing the role of a teen as well so it fits), high pitched voice, is "innocent", loud, dense, dull, has bland fashion style, and is utterly clumsy. Also she acts and talks in a kinda anime like way. But for some reason all the guys will get obsessed with her all of a sudden and fight over her cause she is "precious and special" and has the magical ability to heal mental issues of ML/make him change.

The whole "I will protect you from everything" out of the blue made me cringe. Like girl you just met him and you act as if he is your soulmate whom you dated for at least 5 years. Her singing voice was beautiful though, I enjoyed hearing her sing, not sure if that was the actress herself singing or not. They also had to add the misunderstanding thing between FL, ML, and Mari (Of course she had to be a crazy and selfish ex) so that FL will get depressed, avoid ML, then Shinya will get closer to her to piss of ML. Plus the scandal as another hurdle. They sure love doing that.

Anyway apart from the creepiness related to the age difference between the main leads, them falling for each other a bit too quick for my liking, and other clichés, they had good chemistry (Not great but good enough), and the romance between them was overall sweet I guess. Honestly I was mostly interested in the music aspects and the whole issues between Aki with his musical struggles and doubts, that shit producer, and the Crude Play band members than the romance.

The characters overall felt one dimensional, like ML the whole him being depressed over Mari or whatever was boring, I couldn't care less about it. I think since it's a movie and not a drama, the characters didn't get a proper chance to develop and just remained the same till the end. The ending (After the credit) was predictable and cliché too.

The songs they played in the movie were all great, will make sure to download them all later if I find them. The movie had a melancholy vibe to it that I liked. The stage name Mush was cute.

Typical 2000s cliché romance story with toxic ML and utterly stupid FL.

Okay so since I saw the high ratings and how many people seem to praise this drama in the comments, I decided to watch it to see if they are right and guess what? It was trash like seriously what the hell?!

First issue: it's filled with all types of toxic ass tropes that came out/were popular during the 2000s.
1- The overly naïve, weak. helpless, crybaby, irresponsible, indecisive, FL with no braincells and likes to make stupid decisions that lead everyone around her to get hurt and be pissed off, that allows the male leads to control, abuse, sexually harass, bully, and be overall misogynistic as fuck to her, and the bitch just stand there looking either dazed, or scared letting them do and say whatever they want. In this FL's case, she so annoying I don't even feel bad for her at this point like seriously...
She never speaks to clear misunderstandings, just hide them to add more fuel to the fire and make herself seem like the one who is doing wrong things then when people hate her for it, she runs away to cry alone like a brat.

2- Creepy, abusive, overly violent, rude, piece of shit ML who of course has mommy/daddy issues to use an excuse for being a total scum. As soon as he realizes FL is into someone else he goes and decide to kiss her forcibly and create problems between her and her actual love interest in the start. He bully her a lot first then only shows interest after she is into another guy then he decides that he owns her, he knows she is gonna be his step sister yet doesn't care, makes her miserable and cry all the time, put her in dangerous situations, and yet expect her to fall hard for him (Which what happens sadly) instead of attacking him with a baseball bat.

He is supposed to be the tsundere, cold, cool, rarely kind and good deep inside type, but he didn't grow on me at all. Maybe because I despise Tsundere characters, though some of them can be cute and very loveable like few cases in anime (Kyo from fruits Basket, Misaki from Maid-sama, Kagura from Gintama, Erza from Fairy Tail. Inuyasha from Inuyasha, and Yun from Akatsuki no Yona are very good examples). ML in this drama isn't the good type.

3- Some incest elements, like why are people obsessed with this step siblings...etc disgusting bullshit?!

4- Second ML who clearly is a better option, yet FL rejects him and go for the toxic freak after playing well with his feelings.

5- Annoying as hell parents.

6- Nosy ass friends who seem to suffer to keep their mouth shut exposing the leads secretes, and love to include themselves in everything related to ML and FL's love life. To be fair the FL's friends are way more likeable than her and one of them is actually useful at times, scolding the FL which she deserves.
The friend falling for the second ML was kinda odd at start, but then I actually liked it cause at least he is better than ML, and she is better than FL, besides she waited till FL rejected him before flirting with him and before she tried to help them become a couple so I actually support them.

7- Second FL who is an absolute unlikeable gross bitch, with very criminal like behavior and extreme obsession with ML. Of course they give her a sad past which is supposed to make watchers sympathy with her, but seriously she deserves getting bullied for being a bitch, she doesn't deserve pity or help at all! Then make another guy be obsessed with her (And why?) nothing about her is likeable in first place! He is such a simp that he allows her to make him do stupid criminal shit as well.

8- Very boring and typical plot that gets dragged to the point where it's exhausting.

9- Love triangles and crap. Also why did that Ahrang dude exist? He is basically a literal psychopath who stalks and chases after FL and even threaten and tries to get his ass killed to force her to date him and is like "I never had any girl reject me, so even if I have to attempt suicide I will make you love me!" lmao really! Do people really find these fucked up guys attractive and charming?!

10- this one isn't a big deal, but the part where the ML decided to play guitar in a concert and wears some sort of mask that covers his eyes only and all of a sudden no one in his college seem to know who he is, including FL who only figures out it's him from the scarf he was wearing around his wrist, which he took from her earlier. This is actually a thing that became popular from super heroes shows and it never fails to irk me lol

Second issue:
Overacting, it felt as if I was watching an awful live action drama, inspired by some old shoujo manga, and everyone tried so hard to act like anime characters which never works in real life. Every single one of them does it to make it more horrifying.
1- FL tries so freaking hard to seem cute and childlike by pouting, over smiling, and making ugly confused or sulking expressions half of the time. Like the actress is kinda cute look-wise, she doesn't need to be that forcibly childish to be cute. It ruins everything. They are supposed to be in college, whole ass adults, so why make her act like a 4 years old?! Only perverted weirdos will find that shit cute lmao

2- ML does everything in such a hardcore way it's not even funny, he runs, walks, and fight like it's the end of the world. Don't get me started on his smirk thing that is supposed to be sexy I guess? But it makes him look like a maniac that enjoys stabbing others or something. He is really hot though and his odd hairstyle actually fit him, but obviously he looks way better with his hair down.

3- The parents...these two are a walking cancer. The mom acts like someone punched her so hard, she kinda lost it. The father is either acting like a total middle aged creep that love assaulting teen girls like what he does to the FL (Like when he is talking to her and suddenly grabs her arms by both his hands so aggressively while saying weird shit like "Now I have a cute daughter! I will take care of you!" blah blah, and looks crazy while she makes a very startled expression to make it even more disturbing), or he acts like a retard in a very irritating way.

Other issues:
I don't get why they rushed the relationship between ML and FL, I expected them to take at least 10 episodes before officially becoming a couple, to give more time for FL and second ML to interact properly, but I blinked and the main leads were into each other already even though FL was so into the second ML for kinda long time (Which shows she didn't truly like him, cause if she did, ain't no way in hell she would fall for ML that quick and forget second ML instantly).

Good things:
Most cast are very good looking and the fashion/hairstyles were not bad considering the time the drama was made. Their looks kinda reminded me of many shoujo animes that also came out in late 90s - early 2000s. Sadly this is the only good thing I have about the drama...lmao

Honestly only 10-13 years old millennial kids who were raised during the times these shows were made can enjoy this shit, I was very young back then and I'm 24 years old currently so there is no way I can find this kids-teens focused crap good. Even back when I was a kid, I didn't really enjoy most of the overly cliché romance stuff. (Obviously other cliché garbage came out during our gen Z era like Twillight...etc which I also hated, so no offense to older generations, and some old things were very great even better than newer ones, I know well, but most people would prefer things that came out during their time since they feel attached to them).

Painfully unrealistic and dramatic but has very likeable leads and sweet romance.

Well, overall this was a pretty enjoyable and fun drama. Also it got the 2000s Kdrama vibe to it, even though it was aired in 2016 which I really liked. I actually liked all the four "knights". I Expected them to be overly toxic and misogynic (Like most of male characters in older Kdramas) or something, but they weren't really that bad, more on the funny and cute side thankfully. The Sky house is beautiful, I love these houses and interior designs that gives a bit of a sci fi/futuristic style. The OSTs were beautiful.

I really liked the FL, the actress is adorable and has a very loveable aura. All the guys were hot, and the 2nd FL is really beautiful but I fucking hated her character, she was always so depressing and gloomy, agonizing over the playboy and acting all pitiful and obsessed. Crying every darn episode multiple times (Which reminded me of the FL of Hwarang who also cried all the freaking time! I get sometimes we need to cry obviously, all humans do, but that is just too much!), and her acting was weak. Since her role is overly emotional, she must be good at acting for it. They liked each other as literal kids, didn't even start dating properly after growing up a bit and yet they acted as if they were a couple for years, playing Romeo and Juliet, as if the FL and Ji Woon weren't having melodramatic enough.

Her whole personality trait was her love for him and nothing else, I thought her being a fashion designer might be used to show her passion and desire to make a name for herself and have more of a personality, but it wasn't, it was just added for no reason, they barley showed her do anything related to fashion designing, just mentioned it and that's all, and to make her even more tragic they added the whole unnecessary drama about her father to make a reason for playboy to get closer with her again...

she seriously pissed me off so much that I wish Ji Woon just let her get hit by that truck in the first few episodes lol I know she isn't really evil or tries to harm Eun Ha Won greatly, but she gives the vibe of an attention seeker princess who likes to have all men spoil her while constantly acting like a victim, she liked Hyun Min, yet also want Ji Woon to be there for her all the time and don't wanna share him with anyone else even after realizing that Eun Ha Won is into him and that he is into her too.

Why the hell was Ji Woon acting all protective of her?! I thought he loved her, but he was clearly more interested in FL that way, and to make it worse Hye Ji or whatever her name was decides to latch to Ji Woon all of a sudden after she made it clear she is so into playboy and just wants to date Ji Woon to get over him, not out of genuine feelings, and she confessed in a way that makes it hard for him to reject her instantly in front of Hyun Min or he would feel like a jerk when she is the one who is wrong, cause apparently she will die if she doesn't stick to some guy all the time (Which is proven by her also hanging out with that Joon Soo dude).

I despise her cause I hate women like her a lot, the ones who are willing to discard their brain and dignity just to be with a man, and would act as if they aren't worthy of living nor respect without a lover by their side). The whole love triangle made me uncomfortable. I was proud that Ji Woon faced her, told her about his feelings for Eun Ha Won and told her he knew she stuck to him just cause she needed someone to get over Hyun Min.

Of course main leads had to be tied by fate, with the whole thing about their shared tragic past of their mothers and them meeting as kids lol

Love how the grandpa said he felt sorry for Ji Woon, yet he still wanted to repeat the same bullshit with him and Eun Ha Won, that was the reason of Ji woon and his parents ending in that miserable way. "He is your family, you're related by blood, so you should always give them a chance and don't abandon them no matter what" that's one hell of a toxic mentality.

Just cause people are related by blood or whatever, it doesn't mean that you gotta forgive them, handle their abuse and wrong doings, and force yourself to interact with them. Family aren't necessarily people related by blood, who gives a fuck about blood, family are the people who make you feel loved and supported, who care for you, not try to control and torture you till death. That's why many adoptive parents can be way more parent like than biological ones who might not deserve to be called parents in first place due to their neglect for their kids. The fact that Ji Woon knew he could die after the surgery, yet still done it anyways for a geezer who made him and his parents miserable, and didn't bother showing up in his life until he became an adult just to annoy and control him was quite illogical.

The humor was nice, everyone got very nice fashion style (Mostly the guys like usual in every drama I watch, it might be because I'm more into male clothes), loved the drunk scene in ep 8, it was my first time liking a drunk female scene in a drama (Since they always make the girls act in a very over the top ways and get themselves into serious trouble which make the guys forced to take care of them as if they are toddlers or the girls look pathetic and do tons of embarrassing and dangerous stuff like end up having sex with some random guy by mistake. I mean I get maybe kissing, but going all the way to have sex...anyway the kiss scenes were adorable), but the plot writing could be better and of course there were some cringe moments here and there.

Last episodes were overly dramatic, with shit going downhill left and right, even in the freaking last episode, and the main leads having endless hurdles in their path, but since the ending is happy (A bit too happy even) I guess it's all cool (Though why did all the guys end up with a girl?!). The thing about Ha Won's father was weird, like in that case, the first thing someone should ask for is a DNA test, then she decides what to do afterwards, obviously not just anyone who appears out of the blue and says they are related to you are honest, but even if he is her father, I personally wouldn't want to have anything to do with him after all these years.
I know she had a past with him and that he treated her well back when she was a kid, but doesn't mean she should just easily believe him. Like why would he appear at that exact moment other than for taking advantage of her, it's painfully clear. The four guys had some of the most typical character tropes you expect to see in many romance Kdramas and shoujo animes:

1- The arrogant, prince charming, wannabe playboy who decided to become a playboy cause he had some sort of bad love experience with his first love or whatever. Why the hell did he even act that way with Hye Ji if he liked her?! Cause her brother supposedly died because of him? Seriously?! That's dumb!

2- The "bad" boy who acts rude, cold (At first but turns all romantic and nice later after interacting with FL for long time or when she manages to "cure" his mental issues somehow), rebellious, and is great at fighting (I was surprised he didn't have a big black motorcycle or something to complete his bad boy persona lmao I guess they decided to give him more of a car racer style than the usual gangster/delinquent one).

3- The cute, sweet, and cheerful guy (Who happens to be a singer, but for some reason him being a singer felt pointless in the story). Why did he hide his feelings about Eun Ha Won though? Cause he is a celebrity? Who cares, and he can hide it from fans since they already live together and all so they can be lovey dovey in the house (Of course if the contract thing didn't exist in that case) . Yeah, other cousins might also be into her, but he could confess and let her decide if she wants him or not. He had many moments to confess to her before her and Ji Woon became a thing.

4- The manly, serious, and classy dude who barley had attention when it came to the whole romance surrounding FL. Instead he had his own subplot with his annoying mother (I get she done all that as a response to the abuse and misery they went through by her past husband, but taking advantage of another man and plotting against his grandchildren isn't the best solution). The chairman treated him well from what I have seen, yet he tries to betray him...and for his stupd mother who didn't treat him well, then she says it's all for him. If that's the case then wh she wasn't honest since the start and tell him about her plan from the start.

I'm not against any of these tropes or anything, not like it's easy to write many non one dimensional and unique characters in one story and I did like them all.

Also the step mother and sister were overly cartoonish and lame, I knew since the plot is inspired by Cinderella's fairy tale obviously they will be evil and hate on FL, but still they acted like retards and felt like filler/pointless/badly written comic relief characters, they barley had existence. The step mother's hairstyle pissed me off like crazy, it's so freaking ugly! She also overly spoiled her daughter, like I have never seen a woman who does nail polish on toes of her grown ass daughter like that, maybe if she was a child yes, but not a girl that should be about 18-20 years old, and overall she acted more like her slave/servant than mother.

Glad the grandfather's wife got her fired and the stupid father of FL finally realized his mistakes. If he wanted to make sure if Eun Ha Won was his daughter or not, he could just do a DNA test behind her back instead of saying all that crap and hating on her and his ex wife for years. The wife of chairman was more evil than the step mother of FL ironically (How exactly did she hide that the secretary is her son and that she was married before, even saying she is a virgin from the chairman?!) and her lips shape bothered me for some reason, that lipstick which she always used was awful on her. The FL handled the whole thing with her and Ji Woon in the most dense way you could ever think of. Acting all guilty and letting the wife treat her that way, also not talking to Ji Woon properly.

I also hate the "We are dating now, but lets hide our relationship from everyone" thing. Especially when it's for very pointless reasons like the fear of getting teased by others like in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (I would personally be mad if my lover asked me to hide our love for each other, that's not something to act ashamed and secretive about), and they both acted very obvious that the grandfather and everyone saw them acting lovey dovey from the start, yet they thought they hid it well...also even after that geezer gave them their blessing the FL insists to stay away so that both of her and Ji Woon stay miserable, why?! Then the other guys have to play cupid role to make her stop acting stupid.

I get here they done it over the contract thing (Which is highly illogical, like the grandfather put a young cute girl in a house with his three equally young grandsons and he expects nothing to happen?! Even if she sticks to her words and doesn't try to chase any of the guys, it doesn't mean they wouldn't view her that way. Besides if that's the case then they are adults, both of her and Ji Woon could say fuck you to the grandfather and leave Sky House, not like he owns his grandsons, they aren't his slaves.

I really expected all guys would fall for FL, and then she will have to pick one since they made it seem this drama is supposed to be a pure reversed harem concept, but it wasn't really that way in the end and that damn 2nd FL got too much attention for my liking...even more than the actual FL herself. Ha Won's friend wasn't painfully annoying, glad she wasn't too creepy (Considering she is the singer's fan, I kinda thought she would try to harass him/try to make him fall for her by force like the step sister, or something since she got many chances to meet him thanks to FL, but she was mostly chill. Her telling him to not like anyone cause of his fans was irksome tho, I really hate this logic that celebrities are owned by their fans romantically).

Although Ji Woon was my favorite both visual and personality-wise, I still would be okay with the FL ending with any of the guys honestly if they all were into her to begin with. I wanted to really give this drama a high rating of 9-9.5/10 cause I really liked all the main characters (Except 2nd FL), but the last badly written episodes were exhausting to watch. The FL was painfully tragic, also very dense and naïve sometimes, and tragic love stories tire and suffocate me pretty quick. I kinda forced myself to finish the drama at some point.
