Title Love Has Fireworks Spoiler
I have to be honest, Jun was cute only at the beginning, but now he's just a dumb, clueless stalker. And his parents,…
I said it another comment, but I was really glad the show finally had the girl outright reject him. He deserved it, and I'm hoping he learns and grows from there. Yes, his parents are absolutely awful, probably a big reason he's so immature.

Who in the world wrote jun cheng he is like a 2yo stalker with absolutely no personality whatsoever and his mom…
Don't know how far you are, but I was so relieved when she finally outright rejected him. I'm hoping he'll grow and mature from there. And yes, his mom is awful. But the leads are great!

for what i’m reading in the comments, i don’t think it’s worth it to start this…
It's so cute! I'm on ep 13 and absolutely loving it. It's so much fun, nothing too heavy, just an enjoyable, funny romcom with great leads.

Hahaha i agree with u. I am also the same height as WCR and that is tall in asia where im from. Guys have told…
Yeah, I'm around the exact same height as TJC, so a tiny bit taller than WCR. Basically the average height for men in the US, where I am, and definitely tall for a woman here. I think you're right that it's shorter women insisting on taller men, since if they were tall they'd realize how limiting that is! And silly: height has nothing to do with relationship compatibility.

People who praise actors for being tall when they have the acting skills of a wooden post make no sense to me. And it really bothers me when they dismiss TJC over his height (when he's not even that short!) and ignore his obvious talent. Zhou Shen and Yang Di are also great examples.

C-entertainment definitely encourages height fixation, among its other unhealthy beauty standards. This is why I'm happy with LHF for choosing two actors so close in height. I can't think of another cdrama I've seen where the man wasn't obviously taller than the girl. Even in TJC's other shows, the actresses were all clearly shorter than him. As a tall woman, it doesn't feel great to constantly see messaging that women should be short and men tall. It's a bold choice for LHF and I'm here for it.

This is an unpopular opinion in cdramaland, but I may find people who agree with me here. I'm actually glad that they cast a taller actress with Tan Jianci for Love Has Fireworks. I dislike the message that the man always has to be taller than the woman, and I love seeing counter-examples to that. It's perfectly fine for a couple to be the same height or even (shocker!) for the man to be shorter. I'm tall myself, and if I adhered to the standard that the man always has to be taller, that would limit my options so much.

Plus, my type leans toward short-to-average guys, tall guys tend to not be that attractive to me. I hate this stereotype because it discouraged shorter guys from approaching me, when actually I had no problem with their height. I once had a guy tell me, "I'd never date you, you're too tall for me" - and that guy was almost my height! I hadn't even realized he was a tiny bit shorter until he said that. In fact, my husband is about the same height as me now. He's such a good man, we're exactly right for each other, and I'm so glad I didn't miss out on our marriage for a silly reason like "the man has to be taller."

Anyway, I needed to rant about this here because I saw a comment on the LHF page disliking that TJC and WCR are the same height, and it rubbed me the wrong way. And we all know how much hate TJC gets and how much he's had to struggle for being average height. The man is one of the most talented human beings on the planet and there are people wanting to hold him back because ... he's not tall. Height shouldn't matter at all compared to actual talent and yet it's what people focus on. It's just so stupid and frustrating.

This drama has attracted a lot of haters, for some reason. If you liked the trailer, you'll like the drama. It's…
Agree, it's as funny and cute as the trailer promised. In fact, for me, it's even funnier than I was expecting. Sometimes cdrama humor doesn't land for me, but this one is definitely making me laugh. If you like fun romcoms, this is for you.

I'm really happy to see Love Has Fireworks shaping up to be a real romcom, and not leaving out the comedy.

Why does LHF have to air when I'm at my busiest? 😭 I finally found some time to watch all the promotional material,…
Same boat, these past weeks have been crazy busy for me! I've seen up to episode three and I'm loving it so far.

I swear cdramas have made me shallow. The fact that they have no height difference is really poking at my eyes.…
Yeah, I don't get why anyone cares about height differences. They're both doing a great job acting their roles, that's what matters.

I've only seen up to episode 3, but so far, it's exactly what I hoped it would be! Cute, funny romcom. Nothing too serious or heavy, just a show where you can sit back and enjoy the ride. Tan Jianci and Wang Churan have excellent banter and chemistry, and I've laughed more than I even thought I would. Looks like this is going to be so much fun!

Title Dancing with the Tide Spoiler
Whaaaaa!!! After all the things that happens with XQS in whole drama n him losing people left right centre, it's…
Just remembered SMC is ALSO intent on rescuing XQS from the boat explosion, so that scene is actually great foreshadowing of the ending and how the two of them band together to save XQS from his own noble idiocy. If they really do change ZYH’s arc that much so he’s not even around and SMC lets his friend die like that… then this isn’t the same story at all and those aren’t the characters I know and love. I’m gonna hold out hope they have more sense until it airs.

As a side note, XQS in the novel, doesn’t have hope, but he isn’t suicidal. A scene that made me want to cry was when he’s about to blow up the ships and he realizes he DOES want to live. It’s something like “for his family, his friends, his lover, and even for himself.”

And then ZYH comes along and saves him hilariously, in classic ZYH manner 😂 One thing I loved was how whenever XQS got TOO noble, ZYH would pop up to take him down a peg, like “oh come on, no one can be THAT noble!” Loved ZYH’s character and dynamic with XQS. The way ZYH decided to rescue him in the end (against XQS’s noble-idiot will yet again! 😂) made perfect sense to me and it’s gonna be so disappointing if they ruin that.

Whaaaaa!!! After all the things that happens with XQS in whole drama n him losing people left right centre, it's…
Yeah, I’m having a hard time with it. Basically, this was how I saw the dynamic in the novel:

XQS: There’s no light, no hope, I don’t expect to survive and I’m not going to try.
Nan Yi: There is light, there is hope, we should try to survive

Over and over. I read the whole thing hoping Nan Yi would be proven right, and in the end, to his surprise, she was. Bittersweet bc of the loss and his “XQS/XCE” identity officially died so he has to live undercover from now on, but there’s still some light and hope. I don’t want a story where XQS is proven right and in the novel, ZYH didn’t either.

I loved ZYH’s and SMC’s characters and arcs. They have to totally change them to force a sad ending, when so much of the story is already sad. If they really change it this way, it’s just pessimistic and untrue to the source material.

Yeah he always planned to die, which was why him living in the end was a surprise even to him. I really like ZYH’s arc and ultimate decision to save him. It also doesn’t make any sense for SMC’s character to abandon him, unless like you said, they’ve completely changed the characters. If they’ve changed it this much, sadly I’m probably not gonna watch.

Also the argument that he shouldn’t live bc of so much loss doesn’t make any sense to me either. By that logic, no character in a historical drama with war should live - they ALL lose people. He might have ptsd or grief if he lives? Yeah, that’s part of what makes it bittersweet. It’s still sad, but having grief for people’s sacrifices is not a reason to kill him off too. I think it’s better for him to go on living for those people.

If they really turn it into loss, loss, loss, and then he loses in the end, why even bother. Butchering all the characters to make it a pain fest.

I guess I feel the opposite way most people do about this story. The more he loses, the more I want him to win in the end.

Nah, I still think he should survive. Just because other people died doesn’t mean he has to. ZYH gave such a powerful argument in the book for why he should be rescued. It would butcher ZYH’s arc, and SMC’s character too, if they abandon him to an unjust death after all he went through. It would just be bleak, no hope at all. Ofc with all the changes, they may have already butchered both their arcs and characters, but I hope not
