📍As promised… hit the halfway mark. The writing, storytelling and plot are, by far, the super stars 🌟 🌟🌟of this drama. Luckily, we have a solid director and cast that are able to execute a worthwhile watch. Will update again once I’ve hit the finale.

The drama is interesting because of really good writing updates/additions ✍️to what can be considered a familiar investigative type of political plot. Directing 🎥 is solid. BGM 🎶 is pretty cool. I’ve fast-forwarded ZERO times, ZERO annoying support characters. Even with a lower budget production and unfamiliar cast- I’m entertained. 👍

If you are an avid Mini-drama watcher with old-fashioned grace and patience.... This drama is super interesting and might be for you. They repackaged the format into a12ep/40min drama. I ♥️ the idea of the secret guard (in fantasy, not irl) in this drama adding another layer of suspense. Could be farmer, vendor, old, young... Everyone stays cautious because they do not know where or even who big brother is. There are some other pretty cool scenarios that occur- that I will let the viewers discover on their own. I will update when I hit the half-way mark- to post if this continues to be a worthwhile watch... 👍

Going to Dive-In on this one- intro was pretty cool. As was the training/members of the “super-secretive” secret guard. 👍

Havent had time to watch the express episodes (plus Im a tad behind) but I can def say... this was 100% better than most of the K-dramas I have watched recently. (No shade to To My Beloved Thief- that one is actually good!) ❤️

Anyone else applaud 👏 director’s/writer’s for putting a cloth into a newly captured baddie’s mouth so it prevents the death 🪦 by poison ☠️ pill trope? I also cracked up at the blink-and-you-missed-it Zhou Han faking a garbled voice so it looked like they also put a cloth in his mouth… 😂

It's that time again in a drama... where tertiary characters start to have more lines and screen time so its more believable when the 🦚reveal occurs. Off to watch today's episode. ✨✨✨

Plot wise I can’t see the bro being 🦚, bc wouldn’t that mean FL would have to step-down being an Imperial Coroner if her brother is anything but an ignorant participate in any Nanzhao schemes?

I'm totally on board with a eunuch being a betrayer... again. Always so much more interesting to have a long-term enemy plant, in a higher position, within a kingdom. Will have to look at his neck, next time he is in a scene. 👍

Yes!!! I’ve been trying to get better glimpses of people’s fingers, just for that reason! I even took a screenshot of those fingers to have for reference . 😂

I would be very disappointed in the writing, if it means that our 4 leads… and the rest of the kingdom, were shocked that a prince from NanZhou was a baddie. Especially since they allowed him easy access to the three judicials office… 🤦‍♀️ But alas, he does have smooth skin 😂

I'm suspicious of anyone around Xiao Jin Yu that has a smoother neck now... so that is where my mind went 😅.
