🌷 After years on MDL, I've finally discovered its true purpose:
✨ Finding dramas.
✨ Tracking mywatchlist.
That's the list.
Everything else is mostly a masterclass in people treating personal preferences like a public referendum. 🌺
At this point, I'm either outgrowing MDL or outgrowing dramas altogether. Either way, my activity here is about to become rarer than a genuinely civil comment section. 💐
🌼 Also, a friendly note:
If you're rational and respectful, we'll get along just fine.
If you're rude, don't be surprised when the energy is returned with interest. Fairness matters, after all. 🌹
🌸 And because this concept seems unusually difficult for some people:
My preferences are not a public institution.
My watchlist is not a democracy.
My taste is not awaiting certification from a panel of strangers.
💐 Whether you consider my taste exceptional, terrible, refined, basic, elite, or questionable is entirely your business.
The interesting part is that your verdict changes absolutely nothing.
🌺 I like what I like.
🌺 You like what you like.
🌺 This arrangement has worked wonderfully for centuries.
So if my opinions/Criticism disturb your inner peace:
🌷 Block me.
🌷 Ignore me.
🌷 Scroll past.
[ I mentioned both "criticism" and "opinion" because some Idiot people seem to think they are completely different things. They are closely related. When you criticize something, you are expressing your own opinion based on your own standards and perspective, not someone else's.
Many people often hide behind the phrase, "It's just my opinion," to avoid unnecessary arguments. And to those who tell me that I'm allowed to have an opinion but not criticize something or else they'll troll me I have a simple question:
Whether you call it an opinion or criticism, why are you so fixated on it?
If you like something, then enjoy it. Why are you so bothered by my statement? Is my opinion really more important than your enjoyment of your favorite drama? Or is getting my approval for your favorite drama more important to you than simply enjoying it yourself?
If you genuinely enjoy something, then enjoy it. My criticism shouldn't affect your experience. But if a random opinion on the internet bothers you that much, maybe the issue isn't my criticism it's how much importance you've chosen to give it. ]
No reports need to be filed.
No emergency meetings need to be scheduled.
No approval stamps are required.
I'll continue enjoying my dramas without consulting the Department of Public Opinion. ✨
