My thoughts while watching šYi Chen just casually working along side the guy that was happy to help his boss…
Bipolar rep?! You canāt be serious. As someone who actually has bd this is horrible. This is no rep at all. This is actually harmful to those (us) who has bd. To be associated with this kind of behavior when itās so far from the reality is outrageous. Having bd is already stigmatizing, you donāt need ārepresentation ā telling people we are crazy, obsessive, violent, abusive, rapist, homicidal maniacs. So please, donāt call this bipolar rep. Especially if youāre not bipolar yourself.
Edit: and my feelings about their decision to use bd as an explanation to his behavior you ask? Fuck them! Use mental illness all you want, I donāt oppose it, but donāt pinpoint a diagnosis to it. Especially not if you have no idea what youāre talking about.
Taiwan, what are you doing?! This isnāt a series, itās a fleshed out pitch for a series that has potential but the network said nah, we donāt think so but weāre fine with releasing it as is because fujoshis eat all and the nc scene is fire (it is btw but that alone wonāt save this train wreck). I had higher hopes until I realized each episodes were 10 min long. Ah wellā¦
I was so bored every time Hill and Easter came on screen. Their story is so meh and it pains me to say this but Earthās acting is so cringe and the chemistry between him and Pond is weird. What saves this show is Johan and North. Iāve always had a weakness for Bas smile and thereās plenty of that. And he has very good chemistry with Maxky so that was nice. But Iām ngl, I ff many bits with Easter/Hill. I do look forward to season two and Phoon and Fahās story.
Edit 2: I finished it. And my theory about this shitshow is; someone wrote a fanfiction about Nam Woohyun and Lee Sungyeol. And then someone else read it and thought it would be a great tv series since they could cast Woohyun and Sungyeol as the ml. This should have stayed in the ff realm is what Iām trying to say. //
Ok so Iāve only seen 3 ep and Iām not too thrilled about the romance thatās coming. I can see how it would have been an awesome sibling relationship between Woohyun and Seulbi instead. I can also see why they cast a 14 year old in the role because itās hard to get away with that kind of innocence with an older actor. But just couldnāt they left the romance out of it. Idk if Iāll keep watching or not. I want to but also not.
Edit: I give up. 11 ep and they lost me. Remind me again, why do we need 20 ep? And why do we need this to be a romance? Seulbi and Woohyun fit better as siblings than a couple. Letās forget about the kiss please. It could have been good but they are really trying hard to fit in every issue a teenager can possibly have in high school and add couple of issues the Korean society has in general too. Itās too much. Ugh, I give up and just forget all this happened. Itās a shame really, I like both Nam Woohyun and Lee Sungyeol and this is obviously the companyās wish, to have them do this drama. Anyways⦠some might think itās cute, I think itās tedious.
But if ur comment was something that made someone argue with u that means u started the WW3 šanyways feel free…
My comment was in now way warranting a response worthy of a war. But seeing others getting jumped for only expressing their feelings for the show made me rethink my choice to post.
I havenāt watched the og or any of the other versions and I wasnāt planning on watching this either because itās so far from my type of humor one can get but it is EarthMix so here I am anyway. Oddly enough I found myself giggling about the weirdest things and cringing at Hengās childishness, wondering what they saw in him. But Iāll still watch another ep just because itās EarthMix before I decide what I really think.
This is completely useless to watch since Love Mechanics exist. Go watch that one instead, itās the same story fleshed out and date I say one of the best university (and otherwise) BL out there. Yin and War are good in this but their acting skills have improved further in that version. Donāt waste your time. I only did because I needed my YinWar fix and that was the only choice on Viki. But yeah, thatās really the only reason for watching this dumpster fire.
(Ok, ok, I sound harsh but seriously, there are absolutely no sane reason to watch it.)
Hated the last arc so much , not to mention the ending. So unnecessary. They could have wrapped it up neatly with the lies coming to light but no, they had to start a new arc to fill out those 40 episodes and create some more useless drama. I think it was really great up until that point. Then it just all went down into the drain. But Xu Kai is cute in his aloofness all the way to the end at least.
Im confused. I donāt understand why this exist. I watched the first 10 episodes and then put it on hold because I got bored. (And at the time it aired on Viki the subtitles were horrendous. They are good now but back then the team didnāt keep up) Yeah, I couldnāt with it at that point, I had already suffered through the last four before that. It had potential but the potential was lost before it began. Thereās nothing happening.
This is supposed to be the backstory of Ai and Nhai from TonhonChonlatee but the story is changed. The actors too. Not gonna hold that against them but at least get the facts straight. Also, the facts within the series is off. So, how long was Ai in Canada really? Five years? 7? Who knows. Not this series. Theres more but I wonāt spoil it.
Anyway Meen and Ping are cute. So I guess thereās that.
This drama has three parts or storylines or whatever you chose to call it, that intertwines. Itās the mother/daughter relationship, the romantic relationship between the leads and the business part. The main focus is on family and the fl is what ties it all together. Yes, the mother is overbearing but arenāt many Chinese mothers that. She wants whatās best for her daughter but she goes about it in a pretty wild way, sabotaging instead of helping. As for the end, itās necessary for the sake of showing her growth, which is a huge deal in the drama. If youāre here for the romance the beware itās a slow burn. Itās not much of an enemies to lovers either. And pretty lukewarm transition tbh. As for the business part, well, it gets solved in a neat way. I wish there would have been more conflict actually. A little bit more tension. But in the end, this is a drama about family and the importance of family and cherishing those close to you. Everything else is just a side story.
I absolutely love the fl, both the actress and the character. The way she is shifting in mood is splendid. Not to mention how vicious she is. And I absolutely hate the noble consort but I have so much respect for the actress. She is doing such a great job. Not everyone can play a villain that good. Well, Iām only on episode 15 and for that I am happy. I so look forward to whatās to coming. Iām curious about the romantic comedy tag though? Whatās comedy about it? The emperor and his subtle way of getting proud of when heās praised for presents he gives or his looks, and his somewhat comical eunuch. Anyway, Xu Kai looks good even though I mourn his hair.
As much as I liked this drama (Iām a fan of Zheng Ye Cheng very much) I think itās a bit lacking. Mainly itās a whole lot tell and less so show. They tell you he and he got this and this punishment but they donāt show it. They tell you she did that but doesnāt show it. They tell you he decided to abandoned camp but didnāt show it. Iām vague for spoiler reasons and I could go on if not for that but I think you get my point. Iām glad we got a drama with fewer episodes than a regular historical drama but for once I think it would have benefitted from a few more.
But overall it is a sweet drama with good chemistry between the leads and a villain who is good at villaining.
Iām sorry but if youāre that sensitive to critique and bad comments then maybe you should not read reviews…
Oh, I didnāt mean you, I meant Bank shouldnāt read comments and reviews if heās sensitive and starts to cry. And as I said, people might continue to watch for a number of reasons even though they donāt like the show as a whole. Me personally, I watched it mostly for Yoh and Sam, and what little we got of office intrigues. Leaving mean comments though is just unnecessary and kind of childish but then again, how old do you think a lot of the people who watch and comment on a series like SxV are?
The outfit Salin wore on the runway was really pretty. I know nobody likes his wardrobe and all... I loved it…
I had no bigger issues with Banks wardrobe but I wish they would have made his runway clothes black instead of white. They resembled a wedding dress way too much and I think that was a little too on the nose. Also, the necklace would have made a bigger impact on a black canvas.
Okay this serie is maybe bad and disappointing but it doesnāt deserve all the hate and negativity itās getting.…
Iām sorry but if youāre that sensitive to critique and bad comments then maybe you should not read reviews and comments on places like X or IG or MDL or where ever he saw them. Because thatās what itās like being an artist, not everyone likes what you do. Itās extremely hypocritical to pretend to like something and lie about it just because you donāt want to hurt the actors feelings. And maybe people kept watching the series because they hoped it would get better or they liked some part of it/some actors.
Edit: and my feelings about their decision to use bd as an explanation to his behavior you ask? Fuck them! Use mental illness all you want, I donāt oppose it, but donāt pinpoint a diagnosis to it. Especially not if you have no idea what youāre talking about.
