I personally find that this drama is very funny but it also contains a lot of darker, heavy or moody themes. But that doesn't actually make the overall drama feel very dark or heavy. It's actually such a fun and light watch while also tackling serious topics (but in a more lighthearted way, but not toooo lighthearted). If that makes sense haha.

I don't think that Netflix is necessarily trying to copy moving or necessarily following the moving trend. If that was the case we would have gotten a superhero drama from Netflix a lot sooner. Cashero was also an adaptation of a 2015 webtoon (the same year Moving's webtoon came out). Besides, The Wonderfools has been in development since 2018 (originally scheduled for a 2021 release but they completely revamped the whole project) so the full scale production of the wonderfools started in 2024.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a cdrama that is similar to this one ? (especially coming from someone that has commitment issues with cdramas)

I usually adore dramas set in a small town or village, but this one isn't doing much for me yet. Hopefully that will change soon.

I thought this was going to be a cute, fluffy, wholesome but awkward love story. This was not that. Very realistic and I'm actually really glad that they did not end up together. I felt like they were two very incompatible people. He had communication issues, trouble with opening up, and was more reserved. While she was a bit immature, demanding and bit selfish (which honestly made me sad since I did enjoy her character in the beginning but I didn't like how she acted in their relationship a lot times). He definitely wasn't perfect too, he as well had many flaws and could be a very frustrating person to date. Basically two incompatible people and not even due to cultural differences (in my opinion).

Do you have something against women or something? Because there are numerous kdramas where the guy sleeps around while the girl is still hung up on him. Go away with these weird double standards. Drop the drama if it's bothering you this much and move on with your life.

I wouldn't call him a red flag personally, just a big asshole😂 I do think some of his emotions are very understandable. Immature and unprofessional? Totally, but understandable too.

She's not a psychopath (since that's not an official diagnosis) but more likely on the anti-social personality disorder spectrum. And she actually really fits that one really well. You can still feel emotions like anger, boredom or sadness (depression and being suicidal is actually quite common with ASPD). But it's more rare, difficult to feel emotions like happiness, empathy, joy etc. It's also a spectrum so everyone is different. The reason why a lot of people call her a psychopath is because that's what most people would call her, even though it's technically not the correct term. They probably don't know that and to them she probably feels like a psychopath. Also, I believe they stated in one of the earlier episodes that she has ASPD (but correct me if I'm wrong).

I probably didn't explain it well in my initial comment but there is a whole history, decades of horrible transgender representation in media. If you look at researchers for instance from GLAAD, you would see that transgender characters were cast as killers or villains in at least 21% of the catalogued episodes and storylines. They're often portrayed as murderers, sociopaths and sexual predators. And often, just like in this case, them being mental instable deranged killers that is often linked to trauma and them being transgender. It's an actual thing. Simply because you not being aware of it doesn't mean it's not actually happening. It's a continuing pattern. And both La Mante (which I haven't seen personally) and Queen Mantis are following this problematic rhetoric and trope.

A couple of examples I could think of that follow this pattern are: Silence of the lambs, csi, pretty little liars, Dressed to Kill, Sleepaway Camp, Psycho, Troubled Blood a book by Robert Galbraith/J.K Rowling, Sleepaway Camp, Ace Ventura.

So the horrific representation might not be as known as for instance the bury your gays trope in media, it's still a very common thing. It's also not to say that a transgender character can't be a villain if it's well done. If it doesn't follow the rhetoric that someone being transgender is a reason or another way to explain how someone could be deranged enough to do such a thing. It functions solely as a shallow problemaric toxic harmful psychological profile, that the media has used over the years. And the kdrama does this as well. I did appreciate how they made lil comments or hints about other transgender people. But that doesn't take away from them still using a harmful narrative about transgender people in medias. And that is sadly not disappearing (Emilia Pérez is another but different example of harmful bad representation of trans people). And now should be the time for uplifting good transgender representation where characters aren't solely defined or presented as victims or murderers.

IT'S FREAKING 2025..... WHY ARE WE STILL TURNING TRANSGENDERS INTO VILLAINS. This harmful trope should have died out by now..... truly appalled and disappointed. Kinda transphobic as well. Stop villainizing trans people..... also, why is nobody talking about this?

I kinda hate that it's following the original show............. it was on its way to become like a 9 but now it's dropping to a 6

So far my only complaint is the episode about a character with an eating disorder, cause that's not how that works. Girlie desperately needed psychiatric help to overcome it and even then it still stays with you in some sort of way. They totally didn't handle that one correctly.

Meh, it's not horrible but it's also not that good. I did have to force myself to continue watching it.
