I already loved part one and I thought it couldn't be any better. And here we are... I don't know how you guys did this, but it is even better than the already epic first part. This was honestly so amazing. I loved reading every second of it. You guys made such good points. At times I ws like SAY IT LOUDER! Also, glad to hear I'm not the only one who wished for their parents to divorce as a kid. Lowkey want a part three now
And what is the reason why you hate this drama? Is it the plot or you don't like the actors? Before this drama…
Yeah now I have seen more MDL's who agreed with me compared to when I just finished the drama. But the majority loves it so hahaha it must have done something great if it's this beloved. Besides, I'm super picky when it comes to action or revenge stuff so that probably played a part in it as well.

I mainly dislike the drama for its plot, writing, predictability etcetera and simply not a lot made sense. I personally found a lot of holes in the story & didn't really like certain stuff the writer and director incorporated. But I have nothing against Han So Hee since I've seen her in Nevertheless & 100 days my prince. I especially liked her in the latter one. I also like Ahn Bo Hyun as an actor and I'm really curious to see where he's gonna go next. I also liked the other actors, especially the most predictable wishy washy villain ever. Besides, I do like action stuff and especially if it contains a badass kickass lady. I did think that Han So Hee's character was a bit of a special snowflake for no reason (a bit of a mary sue). I just think it could have been a lot and by a lot I really mean a lot better. It had such potential
I'm pretty much a baby when it comes to cdramas. I don't think I can even call myself a baby cdrama watcher since I haven't even finished 10 of them yet. This probably has to do with the fact that I'm really really into kdramas but also because cdramas have sooo many episodes. Me and my current attention span aren't used to more than 16 or 20 episodes. Especially historical Chinese dramas are soooooo loooong, which is probably why I prefer the modern ones over the historical ones. Also, only recently I became aware how much Korean stuff I watch while I used to think hey my watch taste is pretty diverse in countries (which it's not). So only now am I trying to diversify the shows I'm watching.
From the cdramas that I've watched I really loved make a wish & meeting you. I also thoroughly enjoyed watching perfect and casual & well intended love (latter one is not the best but I watched it when I just started my journey of watching Asian dramas)
I honestly didn't know what some of my favourite dramas had in common but lol you've given it a name. I feel like that the great shaman Ga Doo Shim also fits this criteria pretty well. Thanks for the amazing article though.
Lol as a Dutch person I never expected to see this article or mentioning the show klem. You bet I was shooketh to the core. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the show klem (my prejudiced, biased ass is probably the reason for this since I have only cared for 1 Dutch television show in the last three years). However, one scene from the first season (I believe) has stuck with me and my mother. That scene somehow became a running bag between us for a year or so. Besides, I liked how you mentioned famous Korean actors for the roles too since the original actors are a big deal in the Netherlands. Also, Barry Atsma used to be considered a pretty boy, hot actor, and funnily enough me and my mother just talked about how he has aged (& the shady people we can be, it wasn't meant in a positive way). Haha are you perhaps from the Netherlands as well? Haha if so please ignore some my ramblings.
As someone who hates sports themselves I do love me some good sports dramas. I've realised that cdramas have a lot more sport based dramas than kdramas, but as someone who is afraid to commit to a lot of episodes I'd wish we would get more sport based kdramas.
This is officially my favorite article I've read on MDL now. Damn this was so insightful, interesting, and personal to read about but I've also never truly thought about the kinds of love. This was written really well and the layout was just chefs kiss too. Besides, I love how you talked about all kinds of shows and movies from different regions/countries and didn't limit it to only one. You also get all the bonus points for your thoughts on love alarm. I've ALWAYS felt that song kang's character was the shittiest friend ever. You don't actively pursue the girl (you don't know) but your best friend likes and definitely not if you only met the girl a second ago & have known your friend since childhood. How is that ever not a shitty thing to do? I can understand if the girl was a mutual friend BUT HE JUST SAW HER FROM A DISTANCE..... As you can see I have feelings about this, lol.
It's interesting to read all of these thoughts on villains and I really liked how you presented and discussed everything. It's also such a cool topic to talk about.
I personally don't see like the ex girlfriend in romance dramas as a huge villain more like an antagonist. I don't really think that the majority of romance dramas have real villains like the historical, mystery, action, fantasy dramas. I do think that these female antagonist are 90% of the time horribly written since they're one dimensional, "evil" for the sake of being evil, include sexist aspects etcetera. I truly think writers can and should do better with those.
I personally love a good male or female villain and honestly if they're written well (& aren't like 50 years old) it's basically a guarantee that I will find them hot as hell. Especially a good female villain, which are hard to find imo, is something I love. I do think that there are more male villains out there and that they tend to be written better than the female ones, which I don't like. Writers out there pleeeease gimme all the evil badass female villains. I'm seriously depraved of a good one.
I'm quite surprised a Korean Odyssey wasn't already on it since the poster has two umbrellas in it. Here's the link btw:https://mydramalist.com/24049-hwayuki
This is seriously one of the best articles I've ever read (haha I may be super biased since I love Jung Hae In a lot). I think he's still an underappreciated actor, and I'm like hooow aren't more people stanning this man. He literally can do anything so well.
Also, HOW DARE U TO ASK ME WHAT HIS FAVORITE WORK IS! I can't choose, I honestly can't dfkifsssfv. I am however super excited about D.P. & I am really happy that it's only a month away from being released (still too far away, I NEED IT NOW LIKE YESTERDAY)
I love the mentionings of so many webdramas too. I feel like a lot of times they're overlooked. Also, you get all the bonus points for mentioning Handmade Love.
