I'm sorry but I didn't like it
Started this with high expectations considering how people were raving about it and some even rewatched it 7x. First 10 episodes were good but went downhill from there. The reason I would continue to watch this is solely because of Arthur Chen. He was the only one carrying the whole drama. Female lead was such a weak character and I disliked her. While watching in Youku, I could read comments about her and some people liked her and some people didn't. The whole story was too long and just felt dragging. Found myself fastforwarding and cringing from some too-sweet scenes where ML just goes out of his original character and becomes the loveydovey loser dude. Sorry but I dropped it.Was this review helpful to you?

Almost liked it
First few episodes were not stellar but because of the female lead's unique character and my fetish for strong female leads, I proceeded to watch and found it entertaining in the first half. Inconsistencies started piling up halfway through. I mean, how could an amazing couple like the Princess Royal and General Ban have produced such a stupid son like Marquis Jingting? Also, how did the female lead become a more responsible, smart and sensible person under a father like that? Same parents but her brother is just as useless and stupid like their father. And the most laughable part is that the emperor wanted to promote someone as stupid as Marquis Jingting as the Deputy Prime Minister! Futhermore, I hate dramas where there's a clingy obsessive second female lead/villain. As typical as it gets, of course the villains always get away with evil things they do just to make the show longer. And so I decided to drop it.Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful story
I wasn't expecting much when I started watching it and even found it a bit boring at the start. I thought it was the typical medical drama with an arrogant but talented doctor who gets away with reckless behavior time and time again. Instead, it turned out not to be just about him, but about his other colleagues and patients too.Xiaofeng, indeed, is a boring character but he is such a good person and doctor. If only all doctors could be like him, what an ideal world it would be! The actress playing Xiaoran really did a good job. She was cute and sunny without being childish and annoying. Even the actors who played patients acted really well. There's just this one guy who doesn't quite fit - Prof. Fang's boyfriend. I'm not even sure what his role really is. Is he her boyfriend or driver or assistant? He only appears when Prof. Fang needs a chauffeur. In one episode, Xiaoran mentioned that he's her mom's boyfriend, but he doesn't act like one at all and he looks younger than Prof. Fang.
For the romance department, there are two love stories. I couldn't really feel the chemistry between Xiaofeng and Chen Yue. Probably because Xiaofeng had to stay true to his character of being a "robot-like" guy, he didn't exude the impression that he really loved Chen Yue. He didn't even cry when they broke up! Plus, they didn't have any intimate scenes at all. The whole drama only had one kissing scene and it wasn't Xiaofeng and Chen Yue lol!

Surprisingly entertaining
The setting might be in ancient China but the premise can be applied to modern times. This drama shows that greed and the abuse of power transcend time. No matter what era we live in, there are greedy people in government who abuse their power to trample on the weak and helpless in order to enrich themselves. Kudos to the writers who found a light and entertaining way to depict this reality without being boring. A lot of other romantic comedies turn out to be childish and slapstick. This one is fun and light without being corny or ridiculous. It's a bit lacking in the romance department though. I didn't really feel that Xioa Ning was attracted to the princess at all. It was more of the princess who pursed him rather than the other way around. Aside from that, this is an enjoyable drama to watch. Perfect for unwinding after a stressful day. Plus, there are learnings on how to run a successful business too.Was this review helpful to you?

Worth a watch
Despite other people's bad reviews, I liked this drama. Admittedly, it's not perfect and you'd have to overlook some of the unrealistic scenarios like:1) Surviving a jump off a cliff and not suffering a miscarriage at that! They didn't show how she survived the fall and how she was rescued at all.
2) Qimin being alive after being stabbed to death which they also conveniently didn't show how and who treated his wounds and took care of him plus he was being sold as a slave when his Royal Surveillance guys could've rescued him from there in the 1st place and no need for Qingkou to rescue him
I liked the fast pacing and how the villains were caught early on and not being dragged out for long like a tiring endless battle in some dramas. For me, Weilong and Angela looked good together despite their 10-year age gap which doesn't show at all! I like strong female leads and Quiluo is definitely it. She's levelheaded and realistic, but she did succumb to a moment of weakness which resulted in her getting pregnant. I like how the characters weren't one-dimensional; they weren't all good and yet weren't all bad either (except for the Chancellor 😅). The most annoying character was the spoiled brat Princess Qingkou. I swear, most dramas have this kind of character! Lastly, Tiger Hu's song was so good it made me have last-song syndrome.

Another masterpiece from Gu Man
Although it's a bit low budget, the story, music, cast, and acting all made up for it. It's a heartwarming and feel-good romantic story wherein both the main leads are both gifted and excellent characters. I like how misunderstandings were immediately addressed and not painfully dragged on like in usual dramas. Lots of sweet moments, enough for some viewers to comment that they're getting diabetes! 😆Was this review helpful to you?
One of the best dramas ever
Came across this while searching for a Leo Wu drama to watch and didn't expect much since i've never heard anyone mention it before. It's mainly a story about the early days of esports and how it evolved into a national sport. It shows the struggles of those who were into esports early on and how they didn't give up, paving the way for the development of the industry. At the same time, it's a story about friendship and family. It's a beautiful story of how two people from different time periods came to have a beautiful friendship with the writers brilliantly weaving the past and present together seamlessly. It's both funny, heartwarming, and definitely a tear-jerker. This drama is a hidden gem!Was this review helpful to you?

The best drama I've watched
I've watched more than a hundred dramas and this is one of the best! If there's a score more than 10 stars I would definitely score this higher. Love both the main leads who have a good head over their shoulders. Story is flawlessly written and coudn't find any fault with it. No typical cold guy syndrome or hate turned to love cliche story. Everything just flowed smoothly into place. All the bad characters got what they deserved. Villains killing each other was an ingenius idea. Hope there will be more dramas like this. Was this review helpful to you?

Worth watching
I watched this mainly because of Johnny Huang; he has a lot of good dramas. True enough, I wasn't disappointed watching this but rated it a low re-watch value because there's no point in rewatching when I already know who the villains will be. At first I didn't even think there would be hidden villains at all! What I liked:
1) Loved the main lead's character - smart, good fighter, upright, warmhearted without being a pushover
2) Raises awareness for the harmful effects of drugs and human trafficking
3) The surprising twists in the story
What I didn't like:
1) There is always this one character in dramas that talk too much, is silly and loud and he is present here
2) A loophole with villains wearing body armor but the police are not? Also, they don't have guns to protect themselves with.
3) The main lead's family being the family of a police officer do not care about their safety at all and act carelessly. They would all be dead and used to threaten the main lead in reality.

Worth watching
It's a bit similar to The Tale of Rose, albeit a faster-paced one. The speed with which she changes boyfriends is faster too and is quite disturbing. But at least in the end, she did make the right choice and maybe learned from her mistakes. Inspiring drama especially for young women. Was this review helpful to you?

Overhyped
I thought Elvis Hans was the main lead at first and watched this because of him but after a few episodes, it was turning out that Ding Yi was the main lead. If he had not taken on the side job pretending to be Joseph Lee, there wouldn't be any story. His decision to earn money on the side deceiving other people led to all his misfortune and also dragged people around him into it. I've got to say that he is a really good actor but his character's stupidity and stubborness was so annoying that I couldn't watch it any further. People who like intense thrillers keeping them on the edge of their seats would like this, but I'm not one of them so dropped it.Was this review helpful to you?

Confusing and messy
Quite confused with the plot. FL was supposed tobe without the 5 senses and yet she could see
and hear right from the get-go. It seemed she was only lacking sense of touch, smell, taste and not all 5 senses. Her not killing Chang was out of character given how she was supposed to be a strict sovereign. I really enjoyed episodes 1-9 and starting from when she gained ML's sense of touch, things went downhill. FL going from being the cool bad-ass sovereign to being a giddy childlike mortal was such a turnoff. Other people dropped after episodes 16 and 28. Midway thru episode 11, I was starting to think about dropping it too. Wouldn't wanto force myself to watch something when there are so many many more other dramas to watch. I like both the main actors and it's really such a shame they were given a project with messy writing.

Educational but boring
It was off to a good start and I thought JCT would be playing a really savvy and smart IT white hat guy, but turns out he's not. A cybersecurity expert who keeps getting duped and his partner kid who divulges info to an online unknown "friend" contradict the main plot. The only thing I liked about it were the safety tips at the end of each episode. Was this review helpful to you?

Dropped after 5-1/2 episodes
After watching The Love You Give Me, which made me like the Wang-Wang chemistry, I decided to watch this too. Same as TLYGM, it's a cliche romantic comedy but with the same old tired storyline of a contract marriage. I have to give it to the writers at how creative they were to come up with ways to get the two main leads to agree to a contract marriage. It was quite pleasant until episode 6 where I couldn't stand the female lead's lack of intelligence and even more her friend, Xiyao's, dumb antics. They were urgently in need of money and trying to return the bridal gifts, but they impulsively buy a Balenciaga blouse instead??? Ugh, where did the brains go? So there, dropped it.Was this review helpful to you?
Boring
Was looking for a modern Cdrama to watch and this came highly recommended with very high ratings. I also like Li Landi but not really a Lin Yi fan. I'm glad that it's not his usual cold stiff guy role and he's actually warm and sweet here. LinLandi's hair keeps getting to me though. It really looks like a stiff wig especially at the back. I wish they could've made her character prettier and better dressed even if she's supposed to be poor. It's not a bad drama but I just found it so boring. It makes for a nice background while doing something else because not keeping your eyes glued to the screen won't make you miss anything. Chemistry-wise, there were no sparks for me. So decided to drop it after six episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
