They dub Chinese series because there are so many different dialects and actors have different accents. The series are released in standard Mandarin.
This is from Hongkong where they speak Cantonese.

I dropped this already at ep 6. Reading the comments I guess it was a good decision.

What was it you didn't like?
It's just the beginning. If you don't like the zombie plot or the actors, then I don't know what to tell you.

For weeks people ask for links to the soundtrack. The OST gets constantly praised.

It's mostly sex sells.

I think every country has good and bad series.

Thai BLs have still a special place in my heart. I feel they created the whole genre with series like Make It Right or Sotus. The Chinese could have also led the way with series like Addicted/Heroin, but it ended in a big scandal. Now China is back. We will see where this is going.
When Korea joined the game, people thought now it's over for everyone else, but look how that turned out. Korean BLs are very disappointing lately.

There is something for everyone. 30+ series a week. Madness. I can't keep up!

Yeah, Thai BLs are famous for this, especially GMMTV series. You get a big kiss around episode 7 or 8, and later they never kiss again until the final. You only get those sniff kisses.

Watched the preview. This series doesn't disappoint. We get some romance, but it seems the plot is moving forward fast. I hope we get some more kisses. Not because I'm so thirsty, but I often get the impressions like it's written in the contract of BL actors that you have to do 1 sex scene, 2 kisses or so. It seems so strict. You don't see causal kissing in BL series very often. Or maybe I'm just watching the wrong ones, what do I know.

Despite people complaining about this series being bad, it has over 22k viewers on MDL.
I mean, it is indeed bad, but you see how this works?

I have to disagree with you on two things:
1) Oat can act. He did a pretty good job in My Stubborn. But in this series ... he was so bad. Don't know what happened. Boat was always bad, but you can improve, especially with a partner that acts better.
But yeah ... both terrible in this.
2) My Stubborn was a very questionable series. But the characters weren't that badly written (at least as a viewer you wanted to know where the story is going). Not everything has to be fluffy and cute and prude. Ending was disappointing though, because there really wasn't a reasonable explanation for the behavior of both characters. S3x was mostly good and pretty nice filmed. There should be some room for explicit s3x scenes that are artistic and hot and not porn. My Stubborn, despite being toxic, had some very nicely filmed s3x scenes. But after that they should have done a more serious work and not going in the same direction high speed with more s3x and even worse characters and plot.
I'm over those two for sure. Never a big fan, but I wanted to give them a chance.
They obviously don't aim for a serious acting career.

I read somewhere people are rooting more for the 2nd lead or something or are not supporting the main leads romance. Don't know. I thought there is some scandal going on outside the series. That's why I called it controversial.
But well, so it's just badly written then.

Don't be too hard on them. We don't know how long he exercised, and you can get lucky once.
What surprised me more was Lin Zai killing real humans like it's nothing. I never was under the impression he had done that before. But hard times ...
I'm also more concerned about the-sucking-out-poison scene. Is this still a thing in China? Shouldn't the poison be already in the whole body?

What is so controversial about this series? Just asking. I didn't watch it yet. I loved the main lead in Are you human too? Wasn't a fan of Undercover Highschool (too cheesy and boring after a while), so now I was excited to watch this, but well, seems people don't like it?

A Lie has a tragic past, to be fair.
Seems Lin Zai in comparison had a normal and easy life, was going to university, had a loving family etc. Until the apocalypse of course.

A little thing I want to talk about:
I love how consistently A Lie is written. He is a trained fighter, was sold by his parents, he is cold, doesn't trust anybody, and let's be honest: he is a ruthless killer. While it was cute how Lin Zai was impressed by A Lie killing those men, I just thought: woah. No mercy.
While normally such characters like A Lie change and became sappy and cheesy when they finally find love (unfortunately that's a thing in BL), A Lie remains true to his character even during the love scene. Because this was some aggressive love scene!
Lin Zai had to fight him off twice to slow him down. There was never a moment of perceived danger, since it was for us viewers (and hopefully Lin Zai) obvious he would stop, but still it fitted the character perfectly. He was on the edge, most likely because he is crazy about Lin Zai, but also, let's be honest, when did he had sex the last time? It's the apocalypse after all. So I applaud the actor because he really made me believe he wanted Lin Zai badly, he was obviously hungry. Those stares and trembling lips after or before he kisses him! Still, he didn't lose control, which again fits the character perfectly. He is violent, ruthless and aggressive, but he can control himself, and he doesn't hurt innocent people and sure not the one he loves. Because, again, let's be honest, he could have raped Lin Zai easily. He is much stronger and knows tricks to immobilize a person. When he finally asked if he could go further, there was as much determination in his gaze as desperation.
Hopefully he remains like that and doesn't change suddenly, otherwise I have to eat my words. I love a good character development, but only if it's believable and doesn't happen out of the blue.
It's honestly sad how impressed I am by some consistent writing. And it's not like we didn't get emotional scenes, tears were already shed, but again, without being cheesy or sappy.
So hopefully they keep this up.
