Wtf did I just watch... This is a complete new level of stupid misunderstanding
Seriously ... there was this scene in s1 when Shi De said that he isn't "inexperienced" when it comes to (unrequited) love and Shu Yi thought it's about his guy friend, assuming Shi De is gay. Now he has a woman and a child? WHAT? They are really messy when it comes to the sexuality of the characters. Regarding Shu Yi they went for the I'm-only-gay-for-you cliche. And now this?
This felt very out of character for Shu Yi to just walk away without confronting Shi De
Yeah. Maybe as a first impulse it's credible. But sooner or later he would confront him for sure. He is no coward. I was praising the show for the well-written characters. And now this?
Shu Yi doesn't know anything about Shi De's mom's fiance -- we can't predict what that boy is thinking when he…
You know, I had a lot of babies on my lap in the last years and none of them was mine ;P No idea how he could jump to such a conclusion! They should have shown us that Shi De didn't write him anymore or something. So that Shu Yi had a reason to believe, there is something wrong and that's why he came to America in the first place. Would have taken one minute.
And the draaaaaama begins ... I feel it will get worse with s2. But the actors and production team knew how risky this project is. So hopefully they are strong enough to endure the heated discussions that will follow.
It's weird there wasnt proper daily communication from the beginning where shi de would've tell about his day…
The whole thing looked like a long music video where we only see some unknown characters in some causal settings with the purpose of telling some kind of story that goes along with the lyrics lol.
Well, despite having a WTF-moment, I must say it was beautifully filmed. I liked the backgrounds, the colors, the music. Kudos to the production team and the actors. It seems it's always the writer who messes everything up.
Wow ... I'm proud of the boys. When you go to the official WeTV homepage their series is the first in the header. And on the WeTV app the advertisement for the spin-off is also the first you see. So WeTV is putting this series above all others at the moment. Must be pretty successful.
I agree with Sathiperera. If you didn't like *any* of the HIStory series, this one might not do it for you either.
People praising Trapped so much, surprises me a lot. A bunch of cops who behaved like children, some cheesy cliche BL scenes and then Jake Hsu's acting who was over the top most of the time? Chris Wu was great and stunning, though. And the plot with the father was good. But the whole series wasn't balanced out. I rewatched it several times, and still got the impression it didn't flow right. This was a very mediocre production, all over the place, with some great scenes, some great acting, but no consistency. I think people love it so much, because it was different (like even someone commented here). With some minor changes like reducing those silly and unnecessary scenes in the first half and making the cops more believable, it could have been much better. The end was also a disaster. I later heard two different writer were working on it, and it felt exactly like that. No offense, but Trapped is sure not a good example of a great series with great writing and great production. After watching Trapped and MODC (which was also not balanced out at all) I felt like I should skip Taiwan BL in the future. WBL is a rather generic story, but the actors are charismatic, the characters well written and the most important thing: it's not so messy. But it's nothing new or groundbreaking. That's for sure.
