I will share with you, not only my thoughts, but the thought of another friend, who live in the other side of the world . .
(Now, you will note how this engaging drama challenges our emotions and now be discussed in different parts of the globe)

*** My thoughts on Episode 22:
Rong Yu seems to forget the promises that he made to He Jiuling on that night where they look up to gaze the starry night . . . "that I will always be in the side of my wife . ."

*** My friend's thoughts which I find more interesting to reflect:
Yes, has he forgotten or not realized that He Jiuling loves & needs him - despite the betrayal?
She no longer has a family and the best way to repay that debt is to help rebuild a family with her.
Oh! ❣Is he so overwhelmed by his Uncle's betrayal of the He Family that maybe he no longer thinks he has any right, honor nor worthiness to stay with her? You can see that in the last episode how he wept as he awoke after overhearing the conspiracy confessed.
Rong Yu is so ashamed but still so filial that he is willing to commit suicide to atone for his Uncle's crimes.
He Juiling & Rong Yu love each other to the point of being willing to die for the other and the tragedy & difficulty are magnified as they do not / cannot consult nor communicate but rather each makes erroneous assumptions unilaterally

@lovehj I am not familiar of any traffic or non-traffic actors, especially in the Chinese Entertainment Industry.
For me, I rather focused on how the actor acts on his assigned role.
That he is the Character, not an actor anymore . .
*** That he is Rong Yu, not Wang Youshou and she is He Jiuling, not Song Yiren . . ***
And the way to measure on one act is to watch a drama with an "open, objective mind"

This is one comment which brings a happier note to those who enjoyed this drama; for we came to watch a drama to be entertained and to know the story and the characters involved on it. We came not as a judges, we came as viewers . .

"The MDL ratings mean absolutely nothing. When people get upset about something they attack and when their fave actor/actress are in it they blow it up.
Ignore the scores and watch for yourself"

It seems that MDL has a way to filter those who are writing negative comments about this engaging drama. Hence, they will rated it a minus point.
In some independent site for bloggers, this drama is on a higher ranking.

Hello. I am reading your comments behind the lines.

I think that before you measure this drama, you should complete the whole episode till the end; for this is "not a one-man show"; this show involves so many characters that we should appreciate also. And most supporting characters on this show did their role with passion, too.

- Your outlook on He Jiuling belittles her significant role in this drama

- The setting of this drama has an engaging storyline to the plot since it breaks away from the conventional pattern of male dominance and female weakness, where the male lead is supposed to rescue and save the female lead most of the time.
Now we have a female lead rescuing her country and the male lead from his injuries.

*** I could say that this drama is engaging because it challenges the emotions of the viewers; that we are carried on a roller-coaster of emotions in our journey with the characters here. And so we read people hating this drama.
However, we forgot that the characters of this drama have undergone a "character development of their roles that they're different at the end of the story than they were at the beginning . .

*** A Drama Analyst from France has a Logical Truth when he wrote:
" Dramas that are Rated Low due to some Preconceived Notions and Prejudgment Opinions tend to end up "Classic in Time".

You stated very well what is the logical way of watching this show!
They only look on one side of a character, forgetting that the other character played significantly to keep this drama alive.

@ Disnightmare -- A very good and an interesting question to ask, as I've send an email to Viki before on the criteria of their Rating a Drama.
--- There are Two Classes of Mind who are Watching a Drama / Show / Play:
*** First group watches it on a Subjective level
*** The Second group watches it on an Objective Level

--- Reading and studying the comments written around YouTube, Viki and even in this MDL Comments section, one can distinguish who are basing this drama on subjective or on "eye candy" level - eye candy is a prevailing word in the study of any Dramas / Show, where viewers look on visual images that are superficially attractive and entertaining but intellectually undemanding, such as I liked this drama because the actors/actresses are so handsome and beautiful, or even commenting such harsher words that this actor/actress here is not qualified on this drama for he/she looks so dull, short, ugly, etc . . etc . .
They are easily get annoyed and frustrated on the very little details of the drama.
(They have forgotten that even though a beautiful facial features is good in a drama, yet they forgot one important wisdom that "beauty fades, talents remain" . . )

-- And for those who are into Objective Level - they looked on a drama to be entertained, they follow closely the storyline, the plots, the character development. This group are happier when watching a drama, they don't allow their personal opinion to go with the drama; they are just there to enjoy and to appreciate what they have seen.
*** This objective group of people who watched this show understands very well that the characters of this drama have undergone a "character development of their roles that they're different at the end of the story than they were at the beginning . .

Hello. Very good question. it is always good to ask to know the facts . . .
- The Inextricable Destiny is not just simply a drama. For a sensible minds, this is a drama whom you associated with; it challenged your emotions and when that happen; people will ask what, who, why and where.
- A drama that is worthy to be watched is a drama that makes you happy, smile, cry and be sad; you are in a journey with the characters, you watched well how they act their roles and how the storyline was from the beginning to the end.
As in the study of English Drama and Literature:
"Appreciate the Story and the Characters, not the Eye Candy"

Ziglar, a wise author once wrote: "Don't listen to people who tell you what to do and what to think, especially those who blurting only negativity; listen to people who encourage you to do what is right in your heart!"

I did a Viki subscription while searching for a good C-drama to watch and upon consideration that one of my friend, a French lady is doing a French subtitles on the other drama of Song Yiren; "Professional Single"
-- I find that viki has a good English subtitles which one can easily relate to.

You said it well! Imagine meeting a woman, who was raised by a General of the Army and with 3 brothers who are all expert in martial arts, plus that long years of training in a mountain . .
Such strong character and a discipline of He Jiuling were totally nurtured by this kind of strong-willed family and by that environment.
No wonder why she likes to have a guy who can match up her own standard . .

"Where are you when we needed you most?", considering that we are friends and the times that I've helped you along the way.
--- This is one drama which captivated our attention since it conceptualized on how it is to be a good human being versus those bad elements . .
*** And oftentimes, when we are in the lowest point of our lives, those friends whom we cared are nowhere to be found . .
He Jiuling realized all these things when she repeatedly uttered these words that "I have no one to turn to . . I have no family . . Where is home?"

Sadly, friends, even close friends are nowhere when their lives are threatened, too.
