I had similar thoughts as you, the color seems very pale/pastel in the drama. At least with Youku’s previous costume drama The Blue Whisper, the color wasn’t too pale. Seems like I will have to enhance the colors when I make a FMV for that drama.

I just finished E01 of Immortal Samsara and agree with you. Quality isn’t like LLTG at all. I will still watch it just because I love fantasy dramas. But I’m way more invested in LLTG. 😂

Just had a conversation with a friend about this yesterday. Due to China’s new restriction, dramas are max at 40 episodes to provide better “quality”. Before they thought dramas were too long and filled with fillers.

The first drama I watched with Lu Si was Love is better than immortality.

My first drama of Zhao Lusi was “Love of Thousand Years”. She was good in that one. Actually, I’ve liked all the dramas that I’ve seen of hers. 😍
