From YouTube commenter Kasandra Morgan “ I think it's strange so many people seem to agree that Fighter and Tutor's storyline didn't have a plot, but it did. *spoilers* Fighter spent two years hitting on Tutor while dating his best friend. And while Tutor suspects he's gay, he's not sure until Hwahwa's b-day party when Fighter kisses him. Then he has to choose between keeping Fighter's secret and being honest with his best friend. And he chose to protect Fighter even seeing Hwahwa was being hurt. After spending time with Tutor he realizes that he can't deny his feelings anymore and breaks up with Hwahwa which goes against his fathers wishes. Tutor and Fighter confirm their feelings, finally become a couple and Fighter's dad finds out almost immediately and talks Tutor into breaking up with Fighter. Tutor tries to let Fighter go, but he has a moment of weakness while sick and lets Fighter take care of him. Fighter discovers the reason for Tutor breaking up with him and goes to confront his father. His father gives in and decides to support the relationship and Fighter and Tutor are happily reconciled. That is a plot. A clear, concise, well-written plot.” https://youtu.be/bMBMMPrphOw
From the YouTuber lacrima, they said this perfectly “
What I don't get... is all the hate about too much kisses and NC Scenes between them??? First of all... I always see comments like: "They only have sex blabla" HELLO??? Their first NC scene was in episode 9. There was developement before that. It's not like they directly dived into it lmao.
And the argument that they kissed too much??? I don't get it at all. I'm so tired of seeing BL Couples were one of the characters seems basically asexual (which would be awesome if it would be adressed and represented well!) and has to be persuaded by his partner to kiss or have sex with him. Sorry, but if you're in a relationship it's not realistic if you just peck each other once in 2 weeks and one of you is still shy about it... maybe if you're 12 or something. When you're older and want to be with a person you want to be as close as possible, want to touch that person as much as possible... which is why I loved Fighter and Tutor so much. It seemed realistic. I believed their love and forgot they were actors entirely. It didn't seem awkward or forced at all. It was just... natural. Especially the few pecks in between, which were not at all sexual, just cute and just showing us their affection towards each other. I don't know. I always get mad when people say stuff like "why do they have to kiss so much?". I don't watch them because they have "hot scenes". I watch them because their entire dynamic and relationship seems natural and believable because of their affection towards each other. Maybe people that write that are 10 or something... Idk I'm petty because I'm just so into this couple and all of their flaws and I would absolutely love to see them get to know each other more (without any more conflict though!). ” https://youtu.be/bMBMMPrphOw
Posting the review I did here Before I even started to get into whatever Why R U was, I had seen one show to start with, that was together with me. I was into it when it was airing, and I came across it on YouTube. I loved the main pair and I loved their chemistry. It was a great show to have started with incomes to my first BL. I was then given a list by one of my friends maybe 2 months ago, maybe less about BL shows that I should watch because we just finished the untamed witch was also amazing. Some shows she had watched, some shows she was planning to watch, so I got started on her list. So, before I even got into Why R U and was exposed to what it was, I had watched Tharn type, Theory of love, and together with me. Then I started watching Why R U. From the jump this show was different for me, there was just something about Saint and Zee that stood out for me from the beginning, I started watching the show when they were up to episode 5, so I got into a bit late, but it consumed me. Everything about Saint and Zee/TTFT character was everything to me up to episode 5. As I again as watching this show on YouTube, I needed all the information I could get when it comes to whom these actors were and what this show was all about. So, I jumped into BL twitter for the first time for Why R U and made sure I was up to date on everything. I watched every Friday on one 31 and then the rerun online TV. Maybe I am the only one who feels like this when it comes to why are you, but the show is perfect for me. I mean as I said, I watched multiple other bls Before, super popular ones, and nothing has ever hit me as hard as this show. For me, every episode was amazing. That is all because of fighter and Tutor and Saint and Zee's portrayal of them. Their chemistry in the show was undeniable in these characters. It completely made the show for me. For some reason, the other main leads did nothing for me. I tried to watch their story, I tried to get into them, I was unbiased. I had no exposure to anyone in this show but from the jump until now their story was not it for me at all. I get that they were cute, but compared to the story we got with FTTT, I did not care for them. I never really got how they got from point A to point B so fast and their relationship developed into something more so much quicker than TTFT. The kissing scenes were amazing for TTFT, and so where the love scenes. People saying there were too many have no idea what a healthy regular LGBT couple in their honeymoon phase looks like. People kiss a lot, people have sex a lot, that is normal. They are showing you what is normal. Nothing about their love scenes were porn, they were tame IMO. It is leveling on homophobic the criticism that TTFT love scenes and kiss scenes get compared to SZ because SZ was cute and tame in comparison. That is not real-life friends. I also want to give a huge Praise to Zee because he is acting in episodes 11 and 12 truly made me cry harder than I ever had for a show. Same with Saint, I have never been that heavily affected by a breakup of the scene in my life. I think this show would have been perfect IMO if they scrapped all the side characters except Hwahwa and Day and Zol and made SZ relationship into one of the side characters as well. I never really care about inside characters in these shows, none of the BLS I have watched have I ever been into the side characters, so Why R U does not change that for me. It was an amazing show and would have been a 10 across the board if it were not for SZ and the side characters that for me, felt extra and unnecessary.
