That episode was so messed up,it seemed like written and directed by completely different person. They showed how smart main leads were the entire drama and that episode was such a bummer for all that buildup, I mean years of planning overthrown by a not so smart man's plan that he came up in two days??? I regret to inform you, no he doesn't have a happy ending in this show his character was really messed up and obsessed with FL despite being rejected several times he kinda deserved what he got but that shows how talented he is as an actor😊

Ye Xian was really good, his character development made me cry for him, SML rarely win my hearts but he did. He actually cared for the FL and helped her alot though his ways were sometimes childish but he was true to his feelings and respected her unlike that Xuanqing ugh hated him so much and what was the point of Qinglan's character she was irritating to watch. Ending could've been more better, I would've loved to see that Old Fu toasted instead. ML and FL had good chemistry though would've loved if they added more of their scenes I heard many scenes were cut during editing, RIP to beautiful scenes that didn't made it.
The mere presence of SML on screen made me roll my eyes and boiled my blood even before I knew all the back story I didn't like his presence on the screen. After knowing all the back story,the stupid explanation and excuses he made I genuinely wanted to throw hands, man!!! you had two lives yet you didn't choose her now you claim that love and care about her🙄, I felt like he was treated very gently even after the atrocities he committed, I mean why is the last ep making me sympathize him with such long convo with FL,I didn't feel a bit bad for his death. The only person I felt who deserved our sympathy was crown prince, poor guy his past life was miserable and present was also not much good, happy that he got his happy ending. Loved Zhang Linghe and Zhao Jinmai their characters were strong and chemistry was good.
