I didn't become a hater, and I certainly don't hate the cast. I'm still a fan of Wang Churan and Zhang Linghe, and that will never change. If anything, that's exactly why this drama disappointed me so much.
I've been waiting for their collaboration since the day it was announced. After watching the trailers, I genuinely believed this would become one of the best dramas of the year. Instead, the production somehow managed to ruin almost everything it had built up.
The directing is full of questionable choices, the editing feels like it cut out the strongest moments, and the writing often makes the characters feel unnatural. Some scenes were so childish that I honestly wondered whether I was watching a serious romance or a show made for kids.
And let's talk about the romance. The behind-the-scenes footage showed incredible chemistry, passionate kisses, and natural intimacy between the leads. So... where did all of that go? Was it all cut in the editing room? The swing kiss was painfully underwhelming, and the so-called love scene had absolutely no passion or emotional impact. I don't blame the actors—I blame the director and the editing. They had two actors with amazing chemistry and somehow managed to make it feel flat.
The biggest disappointment, however, was how the female lead was written. They turned her into such an irritating character that there were moments when I almost forgot how much I love Wang Churan as an actress. And that's saying a lot because I've enjoyed almost every drama she's been in.

How do you completely ruin a drama? It's actually very simple.
Take a great story and tear it apart. Fill the script with endless backtracking, pointless misunderstandings, and drama for the sake of drama. Make the female lead so annoying, manipulative, stubborn, and cold-hearted that by the end you don't even care if she gets a happy ending. Then turn the male lead into someone with zero common sense who lets everyone walk all over him and never learns from his mistakes.
And the directing? It feels like it was made for three-year-olds who'll believe anything they see.
At some point, the director must have woken up and thought, "Today I'm going to make sure nobody remembers this drama for the right reasons."
A 7? No way. It deserves a 5 at best. Even on MyDramaList, a 5 would have been more than fair.

Honestly, we really don’t care if some people call Overdo “emotionally manipulative.” The drama is absolutely on fire, and that’s exactly why we love it. We’re not looking only for sweet little romances with hearts, flowers, and perfect relationships with no tension. We love dark, obsessive, jealous, and wild dynamics that make you feel every emotion to the extreme. Murong Qingyi is not your typical romantic hero, and Ren Susu is not a simple heroine — that’s why their chemistry is so explosive. Some viewers may prefer softer love stories, but we enjoy exactly this kind of excess, intensity, and passion that makes Overdo so addictive. And in the end, that’s why it’s called Overdo — because everything is taken to the extreme: the love, the jealousy, the obsession, the pain, and the passion.
One of the things I love most about #Overdose is that it gives us three different couples instead of focusing only on the main one. ❤️
For me, Murong Qingyi and Ren Susu are undeniably the absolute TOP couple. Their chemistry, the intensity in their eyes, the jealousy, and the way Murong looks at her make every scene between them unforgettable.
What I also really enjoy is that the drama doesn’t stop there. We also have Murong’s brother with the sweet teacher who is also a pilot, and I love their dynamic because it feels both tender and strong.
And finally, we have Ren Susu’s singer friend with the police officer, Murong’s half-brother. I enjoy watching their story as well, and it makes the drama even more interesting because we get different emotions and different relationship dynamics in every episode.
Honestly, I’m so happy that #Overdose gives us not only an incredible main couple, but also two additional couples whose scenes are genuinely enjoyable to watch. 🥹✨

The scene with the photos of Murong’s severed tendons was honestly one of the most gripping moments so far. Ren Su Su and his brother were the ones looking at the photos, and their expressions completely shook me. Through their eyes, you could feel all the pain, sorrow, and shock caused by what they were seeing. That moment captivated me more than anything else. I loved every scene they shared, and I feel an immense amount of sympathy for Murong. I’m truly looking forward to tonight’s episodes and can’t wait to see what happens next.
