The other two platform it airs on has express package where they can pay and watch the rest of the episodes. Netflix follows the regular secdule of basic membership of those two platforms
Yeah its HE. The romance starts quite early, its obvious they like each other by ep 4 ish. You get their first…
I’d say give it a shot. As long as you don’t go in with expectations on how characters should behave and this being a more ensemble cast lol This drama has been a lot of people’s first time watching a cdrama so there is an audience friendly aspect of it. I’d even say it’s an idol drama set in historical fiction with a looming war in the background. I’ve seen ppl get angry at the female lead character bc she’s straightforward and has a backbone in scenes where by rule of order she shouldn’t be so… flippant I guess but it is fiction. I also think it has a bit of a modern feel to it.
Why are people rating drama low i have watched nearly 300 cdramas good bad both ……….this drama is good if…
Like for whatever faults it has, it’s an overall great show I saw a data index for popular tv series characters and 8 of the characters are in the top 10. There was another data index of large increase in social media and 8 of the actors were in the top 10. This show went beyond one main lead or main lead couple but a whole ensemble cast 👏🏼
I LOVE Changyu always referencing thing back to her pig days lol from the dam days and rounding up those loose pigs to prevent them from informing little Sui to referring the Emperors limbs as pig trotters lol
Song Yan! I knew he was off to the capital but wasn’t sure if they’ll weave in him from the extra chapters. In the extra chapters he keeps failing an exam and gets an opportunity to teach Changning. In the drama he gets the opportunity to teach Changyu court etiquette lol
I like the novel and I love the drama. I hated episode 29 & 30 for its rush. Which also made me frustrated about episodes 31 & 32 bc some of those scenes should’ve been in 29 or 30 that lead up to the battle. The characters and storyline changes I’ve been fine with bc as a whole the drama has been a joy to watch. The one thing I wish they didn’t change is the dynamic is Qi Min and QQ. The women is literally terrified and had nightmares of him since their introduction. The romanticizing of this very dark toxic relationship every time it’s their screen time. My only justification for screenwriter doing this is like the begin of the show focusing time in the village. We had things from the extra chapters woven into the drama. I don’t know how they’ll do it but I’m gonna guess we’ll get a what if/second chance type of thing if Qi Min grew up normally so that we cheer it on bc we saw that twisted romance and that they deserved better
To novel reader, how Xie Zheng become so powerful that so many people afraid of him?
You hear stories of his rise and how he got his title throughout the show especially in the beginning when ppl thought he died. He was someone who earned his merits through the battlefield at a young age… I think his mentor said he was the youngest to earn the title. What made people fear him Changyu and him discussed at his funeral tablet in the drama (I can’t remember where in the novel) lol in the peoples fear of him was the mass killing / “slaughter” incident that many people condemn him for. They thought it was ruthless beyond necessary bc he killed surrendered enemies and civilians after a battle. In the drama they didn’t say surrendered enemies and civilians but just enemies. The drama only says killed a large number of enemies after victory and was too ruthless on the battlefield. They framed it as a harsh general
He is just there to be manipulated. In the novel the emperor has a presence but the drama? No presence, temperament,…
In the novel the emperor isn’t passive or weak minded. Instead he’s more calculated and builds up his own authority and try’s to balance or curb Wei Yan’s power over him.
The drama went for a more figure head… literal puppet probably to not add another layer of power struggle bc we already have it with the Li and Wei family and add on Qi Min wanting to take his rightful spot.
How is this person an emperor 🤷♀️Just a weak ass man that can't make a simple decision.
He is just there to be manipulated. In the novel the emperor has a presence but the drama? No presence, temperament, or aura of an emperor or any high ranking official. I thought it was a good way to show that he is just a puppet put on the throne to be used by the family who put him there it’s why he can’t make any decisions or you see him looking toward Wei for what to do.
I really love that the drama does a good job at showing instead of telling. The emperor? He is a puppet to manipulate and it’s easy to tell he’s a puppet bc doesn’t look or hav a temperament of an emperor let alone any high official. Just basically no aura lol
I always referred to him as the little Sui brother and that is what I feel sorry for. He had familial love and is “soft-hearted” to his family and the betrayal of someone he looked up to and admired. It’s something all these “villains” didn’t have AND for that he is just plain evil which makes him a true villain. All the other “villains” have a “what if” chance…. it’s something in their life that made them what they are. The “what if” is the moment that changed their trajectory never happened. I don’t know about the Li family… I’m thinking so far they are just greedy power hungry family.
I absolutely adore this drama. The way EVERY SINGLE character is written and the actors who brought them to life.
Just curious, who is still watching ongoing and waiting everyday for new episode release? Or many of you already…
I watch on Netflix so it’s ongoing for me. I rely on subtitles and apparently the leaks subtitles being auto generated would just confuse me. Plus I was never bothered by one episode a day bc I barely have time to watch. It gave me a deadline to watch before the next episode comes out lol
Question regarding FCY and XZ's first wedding: I am rewatching on Netflix with a friend and she is wondering about…
The gourd has multiple meanings like fertility, good fortune, unity. Red symbolizes marriage and prosperity. The thread is binding the couple so a red thread is like invisible red thread theory of couple tied to tether were destined to be together
ep 28 so she turns some people into deserters. I bet will be another non-issue. I don't know if these were details…
In the novel is in charge of a small group, not a general yet just one of the many chosen to lead small groupa. The drama does make it look like she took a random group 💀 the drama left out a lot of her growth where we she her sparring with others and it’s how General He saw her use her fathers movements
Also I need her in more roles of her fighting!!! Her moves are so clean and sharp! In the bts videos it’s so swift and clean and to see the final cut it’s just as clean and sharp without the fantastic camera work
I am only up to 31, but how would the events in it could have happened before the battle? Since General He dies,…
The cut a lot out of the battle. In the novel by the time she reached Luocheng General He was on his last leg and she and others were able to help him back behind the gates. General He refuses to tended to so he stood ridged as to give moral support to the soldiers. As the battle wears on and it looked like they were losing she and her group as well as other people who live there are willing to join the battle to hold them off as much as possible bc Xie Zheng and his army was on the way. Besides trying to hold on and keep the flag up, I think Wei suicide assassin army came and targeted Changyu.
The drama went for a more figure head… literal puppet probably to not add another layer of power struggle bc we already have it with the Li and Wei family and add on Qi Min wanting to take his rightful spot.
I absolutely adore this drama. The way EVERY SINGLE character is written and the actors who brought them to life.
