Did you mean to say "Fan Chang Yu" - her name in POJ? Thanks.
I did! It was a popular youth drama at the time and it really introduced her to the mainstream audience in China that ppl still fondly remember the character
It just finished filming two month ago. It still needs to go through post production, review, license, etc
I think what’s great about her is how multifaceted she is in looks and personality. Her whole feature screams sweet but something about it leans sweet but strong. When she has her resting face she leans into a cool and aloof kind of look. Even her personality ppl she worked with describe as sweet bright and lively but she’s not the type to take things lying down and will speak up when needed.

No. I meant Huang Chengzi it’s the role that really brought her to a mainstream audience in China and I still see ppl fondly remembering her character. I’ve seen a lot of ppl refer her to that even after PoJ or even during PoJ I see ppl asking if that’s Huang Chengzi. Huang Chengzi, Li Wei and now Fan Changyu are like the the three most character I’ve seen ppl refer her to
She graced the cover of a magazine and in the interview this piece stuck out bc I’ll always see ppl referring her to her characters name especially Huang Chengzi so a lot really still see her as that bright character another one I see ppl refer her to is Li Wei ❤️ It really shows how much the drama resonated and how impactful the characters are and the way she portrayed them 👏🏼
“ A few days ago, I was walking on the street when the auntie at the convenience store suddenly shouted: 'Hey, aren't you that pig slaughterer?' When she repeated this sentence, her tone was full of mischief. 'People might not know my name, but they know the name of my character, and that feeling is amazing, it's the greatest affirmation for an actor!'”
Tian Xiwei just starred on a cover magazine and mentioned the drama!
“ Jun Dai and Wei Rao, one is "pure evil" and the other is scheming kindness. Constantly jumping between two characters, it is necessary to change the shape, change the voice, and change the way of thinking. Sometimes it's really confusing. I may be playing Wei Rao, or I may be playing Jun Dai. Sometimes I play Jun Dai playing Wei Rao, and sometimes I play Wei Rao playing Jun Dai. The number of lines is two to three times that of ordinary modern dramas, and it needs to restore the ancient language tone of the Han Dynasty.”
I can imagine double the workload of playing two characters and remembering all those line and being able to convey the characters and the characters pretending to be the other characters is definitely exhausting.
The trailer has got me so excited! I hated the novel so I welcome the change. The novel the FL & ML were wrought with miscommunication and the ML wronging her at every turn bc of his prejudice of her for majority of the novel. There was no good romance between them. The changes looks like they fleshed out the palace intrigue that we got a little glimpse of and a bit of the ML two sister in law that didn’t like her. Also the change looks to give a better reason for ML to not like the marriage to FL
The synopsis says a look-a-like and in the teaser trailer mentioned “Are there really two people this alike in the world?” So no relation… at least from what we know so far
In the book, who of the twins is the prince's wife? And whom does he like?Like do people know they are twins or…
In the book there isn’t a look-a-like. There is another girl betrothed to him but since he was in a coma her family tried to get out of the marriage and fortunately that girls grandfather passed so she had to go into mourning. So his mom sought out someone else with an auspicious birthdate to hopefully help the coma and it was Wei Rao. So when he does wake up he knows that this wasn’t his original bride. In the drama this girl doesn’t exist and to get out of the marriage they found a look-a-like to take her place. The original bride is not a good person. Since the bride was switched with a look-a-like he was suspicious and guarded against her bc he still think it’s his original bride and not a switch.
I did not like the trailer of this drama at all, meaning in the entire 1 minute trailer, only Xi is there, I assumed…
This drama is not for you if you are solely here for him. It’s a female centric drama where Tian Xiwei plays two characters so double the screen time. He will have his own moments but even the romance… cp isn’t just him. There are other leads who are obsessed with the FL characters. Since it’s female heavy it’s appropriate to show at the conference. If they’d done more on the romance/couple to attract ppl like you and then when the drama comes you you’d be saying you got tricked lol
I miss this drama so I’m gonna do a rewatch. I actually wanna do a reread of the novel as well!! I love the slice of life in the novel. After PoJ with the yearning, I’m yearning for this drama with its more explicit affection lol especially from Wu Zhen and watching Mei Zhu Yu get flustered/shy.. and when he finally gives into his emotions 👏🏼❤️
I’m 7 episodes in, but this drama just isn’t hitting for me, despite the high rating you guys give this drama…
Maybe it’s just not for you and that’s okay 🤷🏻♀️ especially since a lot of ppl think the whole Li’An arc of them at the village was the heart of the drama and the strongest. So if you don’t like it you probably won’t like the rest BUT there were some that liked it better once they left the village lol so it’s up to you to preserver or throw in the white flag and concede lol
Is it like too much romance... Cause i want to watch something with less romance more comedy and more mysterySo,…
At the end of the day it’s is basically an idol romance drama set in historical fictions. If you are looking for comedy and mystery, this isn’t the one for you.
I miss Xiaotian sm after POJ that I hav been rewatching her dramas hahah.. Is “in between” an okay drama?…
It’s a self growth drama. No fluffy formulaic romance drama. These characters are flawed so their actions might annoy you lol it’s young adults navigating life and relationships and shows the complexities of humanity.
Those last 10 min were so useless they could’ve shown scenes with the leads and their kids or if they wanted…
Those last 10 minutes is when Wei Yan was reborn and he stopped the massacre from happening. So what we saw was them in their next life if that massacre didn’t happen bc Wei Yan stopped it.
For the conclusion of the drama? She just finished doing makeup for the drama she’s currently filming a few hours ago so she won’t post for awhile … maybe during her break or even tomorrow if she’s too tired after work.
