It broke my heart to see those women and children suffering for so long . I used to work for an organisation that had a division focused on combating the online sexual exploitation of children, and the staff there were deeply committed, but you could tell it took a toll. They didn’t look okay, not in the way people try to seem fine on the surface. The long-term effects of being exposed to that kind of trauma every day were obvious. Every time there was an arrest or something had gone to trial, you could hear the sigh but then the cases were never ending.

As a photographer, seeing them leave the Leica at the station, hurt my heart a little.

It’s tragic. It seemed like the comment was made in an attempt to create a sense of normalcy. You're right though, how do you go back to any kind of norm after experiencing trafficking? I appreciate that they mention getting psychological help a few times, even if it's not shown directly. That kind of recovery is heavy, and I can understand why they chose to acknowledge it without putting the full weight of it on screen.

I took two days off because I needed to mentally recuperate because the tensions, the urgency, emotions, and everything in between feels too real.

Stop dragging in stars who when Dilraba isn't even thinking about them that way! It’s honestly embarrassing, for the star and the fans, to be that delusional about where your fave stands next to her. If the only way you can hype your fave is by tearing someone else down, I’ve got news for you: your star isn’t that big of a star.

It's embarrassing for them. Baba has really taken it upon herself and immediate team to reshape the direction of her career. If their fave can do that instead of putting out dramas that just pander to audiences then they should and their fans should call to account their teams. Alices do it all the time. Out of everyone in her generation, she's one of the few diversifying her portfolio. It irks them that she can be away from the scene and still be beloved.

My favourite thing about Sword Rose is that the drama centres around the "story" and not the "star." It could've easily been seen as just another #Dilraba drama but DY isn't a Mary Sue & the cast compliment each other. Everyone has a role, a purpose, and a seat at the table!

Very much so! It's so beautifully directed and paced. I'm on edge every episode as the cases are heartbreaking not to mention that it is taken from real life stories.

A reminder that behind every statistic is a stolen life, a broken family, a child robbed of safety. Human trafficking is not a distant issue, it happens in plain sight, fuelled by exploitation, desperation, and silence.
