It is distressing. I have been following the drama on weibo and other places. There has been a lot of justified…
It is ugly and chaotic. I am not liking somethings I am seeing either. But I think that people don't react in a vaccum. I don't like their reaction but I understand where it is coming from and I think it is not fair that the focus and blame is being placed on the reaction without giving due consideration to what led to the reaction in the first place. In any case, I love JC and I think that he is now in a secure place where these kind of things won't have much effect on his career or the drama itself. So, I am not much worried about this and I think things will calm down once this project wraps up.
Idk about weibo or other chinese platform but XTH on twitter r behaving very stupid! They r sabotaging the drama…
It is distressing. I have been following the drama on weibo and other places. There has been a lot of justified grievances piling on the xth side and things kind of got escalated around May first when the studio pinned a post. It was a rational, well intended post but with all the grievances that has been piling, it landed as hurtful on the core fans. The fandom is usually disciplined and self managed but things got heated up after that. There has been a lot of emotional stakes involved in the drama, from his smear campaign early this year to xth showing up in droves to support him. So things have become chaotic and emotional. Not to say who is in the wrong and who is in the right, but I think it is just how things unfold when there are emotions involved. And the story has been just simplified to male lead fans becoming jealous of the female lead, especially on the international side where the fandom does not have much voice, but the sequence of events has been more complicated than that. In any case, I am not a part of the fandom, but I have a lot of respect for xth after being a fan of TJC for three years, and after witnessing his and his fandom growth from where they were three years ago to where they are today. Not saying that fandom doesn't have issues, every fandom has extremes, but I don't think that things are simple as irrational fans losing control and acting chaotic. I hope that things will calm down when he wraps up the shoot and moves on.
Good quotes. There’s more going on in Tong Hua’s second post than just Jing, Hou, and Yi Ying. She references…
Very interesting discussion. Thanks for sharing. Do you know where to watch this and other old Hong Kong movies with English subtitles and decent quality?
