In the book she is described as absolutely stunning. She was also very intelligent and came to that world with degree in math and engineering:)))

Her dad is much move simple in his mindset and not at all like LBY. LBY is older male version of CSS, he is loyal, calculating, fierce and very, very politically savvy and intelligent.

LBY actually did a lot of things like that and i bet he is amazing chess player. He can calculate moves in advance and even for CSS, with his minimal knowledge of her at the time he was able to see her motives. Similar to her mother, who ahs similar to CSS mind set and can see through her manipulations but can’t really understand her, where LBY does.

It is not like that at all in the book and i am pretty sure movie will have same story line around it. It was her political choice.

It was after 5 years and he was trying to move her to forgive him. It is a powerful scene in the book, even with google translate. He also renewed her bite mark during that scene:)

CSS had an official title in the book but Google translation was not comprehensive, it was only when she mentioned that she had an official post, i guess similar to lady in waiting

Effectively mom has shown that she is not following the etiquette herself by interrupting LBY:)) BTW, in google translation some titles in the book are translated like 50% etc, was it meant to be like 5th prince or similar?

In the book she said that she doesnt want to to be engaged but rather marry strait away without engagement period. The author still adding chapters and someone linked it above so there could be a wedding scene later on.

In the book LY and CSS stay friends and support each other.

The characters development is amazing in the book, what also was very inspiring is that FL was very loyal to all her 3 MLs and supported them as much as she could despite breakups and other misfortunes ( they have also remained devoted to her as a friend or a lover)

Thank you, it makes sense as YS did rush to see FL when he knew that she was in danger, only to find her sitting next to LY in the funeral ceremony. But next time they have met he actually called her scheming or similar ( not that she is not:)) but still:))

The difference between YS and LBY love is that LBY wants her to be happy even if it is with somebody else, were YS only wants to have her and if she is with someone other than him, he gets very mean

But YS did fall in love with her?

With Yuan Shen, why is he constantly putting her down in front of others? Is it his way for safeguard her from other suitors or what?

Her mom is something else, i can see her point of view being a mother myself but if she has taken second aunt’s type approach, her daughter would have listen to her and would not try to escape living in the same house so much.

Well, she is only 15 and did not have much guidance or exposure to know

I have to say that having FL played by an actress who is in her late 30 and same age as ML, who supposed to be her senior by a number of years is a big turn off, she looks 30 and doesn’t pull “ just out of college look”
