In my opinion, no. At least not yet. There's been some flirting and push and pull between the main CP, but nothing obvious yet. But others may say otherwise. It's just to me, this is focusing more on the relationships between the demon-hunting team members and their character developments, and the stories of the side characters. It's not a plot-driven drama but rather character-driven so some people might find the plot progression slow.

The insert songs are cool, but the musical score is even better! Thank you!

I'm biased. I can't see Neo with anyone other than Zhou Ye and vice versa now. lol I am still waiting for their reunion project. But I don't mind him being paired with others. Chen Duling is alright. I never had issues with her because I didn't see her in Till the end of the Moon where most people saw her as a villain and has since associated her with villainous roles. I first saw her in Mysterious Lotus Casebook and even though I didn't care for her character there, I never had problems with her.

If this drama is not for you, it's not for you. You can always drop it and find another drama to watch. No need to yuck other people's yum.

My god, Zuo Ye and Ai Mi are probably the best looking couple I've seen in C-drama to date! I haven't watched My Journey To You so I didn't know they were also paired there. I just knew Ai Mi from The Blood of Youth and Zuo Ye from Back From The Brink. I hope they get their own drama soon.

Here's to hoping they release Moonlight Mystique and Under the Skin season 2 soon and that they do well. And they better announce the season 2 for Oh No Here Comes Trouble. That drama was a sleeper hit.

Eh, Douban's ratings are scored by fans, not critics. Some deliberately review-bomb dramas. But even so, different strokes for different folks. I found many highly rated dramas in Douban to be not that good. I trust my own judgment.

I can't tell you either because I also stopped watching when Fangs of Fortune started and I just focused on that drama. lol I lost interest in this drama because I found something better. But I will finish this sooner or later for Xueyi.

I doubt the Japanese would admit that most of their culture originated from Chinese culture, though. Hahaha. But yes, it's possible that Demon Slayer was partly inspired by Chinese myths. And there's also the possibility that Chinese dramas are influenced by Japanese literature and animation because both countries are close neighbors and they engage in regular trade. Heck, C-dramas are popular in Japan too.

If I'm not mistaken, Demon Slayer is inspired by Japanese mythology just like most of their manga/anime. The demons in Demon Slayer are based on their yokai, which are supernatural beings in their folktales and Shinto religion. Now whether these beliefs are based on Chinese myths and religious beliefs, I do not know for sure. But this I know for a fact, there is a market for manga and anime in China and many Chinese people I know are fans of this genre, so it's not impossible for some Chinese writers to be partly inspired by Japanese literature and other works.

They kinda remind me of Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing from Word of Honor. One is a straight-faced by-the-book tsundere and the other is a flamboyant mischievous flirt. In fact, this type of pairing is common among Priest's novels.

Is it true that they had to tone down the bromance stuff? Because I am definitely getting BL vibes from this. It's like the hetero romance between Zhu Yan and Wen Xiao was just an afterthought to pass censorship and it was originally written to have Zhu Yan and Zhuo Yichen as the main couple with Li Lun being Zhu Yan's bitter former lover who wants him back, so he wreaks havoc in his frustration. Even the kid, Bai Ju, appears fruity. Sorry, I've been reading too much BL. Hahaha

Is he an idol? I can't find much info about him. He sure is great in Fangs of Fortune. And he's starring opposite Cheng Yi in Go to the Mountains and Sea so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him in that drama.

You mean Zenitsu and Inosuke? Hahaha. Yep, this drama definitely has so many anime elements. I feel that anime-watchers can appreciate this more but those who are strictly C-drama/K-drama watchers may have difficulty getting into it because it's not their usual fare.
