In a state of perpetual exhaustion

She lost too much weight to look teenager coz in the novel she was only 13 years old.
But I think her face was de-aged. I kept looking at how her mouth moved, it was unnatural. Some of the scenes were clearly AI like the wide shots of people riding horses.

Maybe it's just me but in the first episode when Chen Duling looks like a literal teenager, I thought that maybe they used AI to de-age her. Even the way her mouth moved, it looked very uncanny. She was also dubbed there to make her sound like a young girl, so it would make sense that her dubbing isn't in sync with her mouth movements. But I think in the later episodes, her voice start to sound deeper and she looks more like herself. I agree about Zhou Yiran's dubbing though, sometimes it sounds like him, sometimes it doesn't. Weird. But I'm still watching anyway.

It never was; international platform doesn’t have it; depending on your region, check out Disney+, VIU, or Viki.
I’ll just wait when it’s done so I can do something else. 😆 I don’t want to stream it if you know what I mean. 😉

They uploaded it but only for a few hours. I was able to watch the first few minutes of the first ep until it was taken down. Suddenly, I couldn't click the video anymore. It's a mess! They really dropped the ball on their international distribution. I'm watching another drama. I can't with this stupidity! I'm just going to wait until the drama is done airing and then do my thing. VIU is not getting my money either, they said it will be available in my region but they haven't said when exactly. Enjoy the drama! Hope it's good.

They really don't want international viewers for this drama, huh? This is a huge fiasco! Their international distribution is a mess! I guess they forgot that they can't air the drama on their international platform due to regional restrictions, so they put it up and then took it down as soon as they realized their mistake. This is plain stupidity! Who does business like this??? Seriously!

i hope it on viu in my regions🥲
Not in my region. I have Viki but no Zhan Zhao. It’s not available in my region, not on Viki, VIU, Disney +, Netflix, iQIYI, or WeTV. And I have premium subscriptions to all but VIU and that’s why it’s frustrating.

Or you go the other route.
Yeah, but I find the ads incredibly annoying and the resolution is not exactly top notch. I hate resorting to those sites.

So it is not on VIU in my region. If I want to watch it legally, I will have to subscribe to a VPN. Damn, they're really not giving me any choice here. It's either I sail the high seas for this or just watch something else and pretend this drama doesn't exist.

I used to when I had VPN. Now I don’t. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to try other means.

It isn’t. I tried the link on this page. It says, “not available in your region.”

Southeast Asia. Disney+ only acquires C-dramas for Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. They're not available for other parts of SEA. Viki sometimes releases the latest dramas in my region but not all. Netflix has a bigger catalogue of C-dramas than Prime, Disney, and HBO combined. They normally acquire dramas from Tencent and Youku.

Not sure if VIU will acquire it in your region. Sometimes they only make it available for Singapore. We'll find out after it premieres.

I've been looking forward to this, it's a male-centric wuxia drama reminiscent of Mysterious Lotus Casebook, after all. And it's Yang Yang! He's a massive global star. It's just plain ridiculous! They still don't understand how much revenue they can gain from their international audience. This drama could've benefitted from the renewed interest in C-dramas because of POJ. If they had only sold this to Netflix for worldwide release, they could've capitalized on Yang Yang's global appeal. I'm just so upset about this. I have Viki, Disney+, and Youku but it won't be available on any of them.

I sent an email to Youku global customer service re putting it on the site. Hopefully it’ll help; best I can…
Sadly, this is only available on Youku China. The streaming rights were bought by Disney+ for Taiwan and Singapore, and VIU bought the exclusive rights for only certain parts of SEA as far as I know. Viki bought the distribution rights but only for Europe and most likely US. The problem with this drama is the streaming rights were bought by different platforms but only for certain regions unlike other dramas that were bought by Netflix, Prime Video, or HBO that were usually made available globally or at least in most regions. What they're doing with the international distribution of Zhan Zhao Adventures is an absolute mess! This is definitely going to affect the global views for this drama as not everyone has subscriptions to all these different platforms. They should've just sold it to Netflix like they usually do.

I actually subscribed to WeTV just for Joy of Life 2. I was so pissed when it wasn't released on its global app. It wasn't available on any legal streaming platform in my region at all. I had to watch that drama illegally and I hate resorting to these pirate sites. It still isn't available by the way, so I can't even rewatch it.

They couldn't care less about their international audience, that's why. They're only concerned about the local reception of the drama. The international views are just the cherry on top. It will most likely be released on VIU and I will be forced to subscribe to that. But Immortal Ascension was released on Youku International, this one isn't. They're only turning viewers away from their dramas by doing this. Haven't they learned from the massive success of Pursuit of Jade? That was possible because it was simultaneously released globally on three major platforms including Netflix that has a wider reach worldwide. If that drama was only made available on Tencent, WeTV China and VIU for SEA regions, it wouldn't have reached the global success that it did.
