Felt like my bright eyes were in the dark.

Honestly, this felt like such a waste of time. There was love, there was a “break up”, there was a build up and…nothing! This is more of a documentary than a drama. The drama is terribly flawed with hardly anything concluded. He’s a firefighter, she’s a dancer and that’s that. They connect until they don’t. Of all the firefighter dramas this year, this was is very low on my list. I really did enjoy it and was anticipating the ending but the last set of episodes that was released all in one go felt like a bucket of cold water being poured over all the “warmth” created in the former episodes. There’s very few dramas that I would say is bad but this is one of them.

The perfect love story!

This was such a beautiful story with beautiful people (and I don’t just mean appearances). Everyone was just genuinely good people. Even the villains aren’t villains, the one was emotionally scarred and the other was just blindly supporting her best friend. The relationships were so authentic but also beautiful. The siblings had the sibling rivalry but were also protective of one another. The parent-child relationship was so healthy, goodness! They express their opinions without being hurtful or getting angry. The roommates were such amazing and supportive friends! No jealousy or backstabbing! And the mains, oh the mains! Such a healthy relationship! It’s been a while since I saw a relationship without stupid misunderstandings or breakups. This drama really deserves all of its flowers!!!

The comment section gives the real rating.

As much as I love ZLS, as much as the ML’s acting impressed me and as much as I don’t want to undermine a writer’s efforts as I’m sure writing a script cannot be easy, this drama was a complete miss for me. The characters had extremely problematic personality traits that could not be overlooked, no matter how much they tried to redeem them at one point or another. Some relationships made no sense, the doctor-patient relationship we had to watch for 30 episodes is the main example of this! Serious issues were portrayed so carelessly, like the psychiatric patient’s (her diagnosis vs the symptoms she portrayed and her final video did not correlate at all). Serious issues were also glossed over, ignored and not concluded. There was never any real retribution for anyone’s bad actions. There was so much “side issues” going on that at one point I really didn’t know what the actual story was. I can understand fans wanting to give this a good rating because of their favourite actors but one look at the comment section will tell you everything you need to know about this drama.

Gross male lead. That’s it.

If ever there was an award for the most disgusting male character written, this would be it.
ML is late to his own wedding cause he’s with another woman.
ML spends the night of his wedding!!!!! With a different woman.
He sleeps with a woman then goes home to sleep with his wife (not even showering and honestly, that was it for me!)
ML constantly tries to get his wife to shower with him or shower him, my goodness!
That’s it. That’s the plot. He just sleeps around. I’m not even mad. I laughed so much cause this plot was so ridiculous. Wow.

I really liked the female lead. Some would say she’s naive. I also thought so at first but you will realise that she just doesn’t do drama. She has faith in her husband until she figures things out on her own, not just reacting to what other people say.

This male character had ZERO redeeming qualities! Please, an apology in the last 10 minutes after sticking his weeny in everything does not cut it.

Not worth it after one and only

As another review said, after watching one and only, I needed justice. I normally read reviews beforehand to see whether stories have a happy ending and if it doesn’t I just don’t watch (seriously, Asian dramas have broken my heart too much).

Thus , I only started watching one and only after I saw forever and ever was completed. But honestly, what a waste. One and only was captivating, even with the tragic ending. This drama was not. Maybe if you watch it on its own you’ll enjoy it but after coming from a drama with so much personality, so much happening and just so much soul, this drama was just flat, dull, banal. We went from beautiful cinematography to, what felt like, shades of grey. It felt like each episode had like one thing happening and then just a lot of nothing. The actors went from showing all their skills in one and only to, again, nothing.

I dropped this. The ending of one and only was enough for me. Maybe on a day when I can’t find anything to watch I’ll try to finish it.
