I think Wu Zhan’s character is as such that she has little cautious of people close to her, and Zhi Shu is consider her close pal, it’s just that she never thought he would have feelings for her. Zhi Shu confessed because it’s the first time he truly felt threatened by Mei ZhuYu and knew that he has lost Wu Zhen to him.
