Good analysis. Ruyi has never been taught about the relationship dept. But she is a fast learner. So she is learning about affection, intimacy and slowly about commitment in a relationship will entails. I believe the Empress had gave this goals for her to also want her to experience life and connection.

FFB is Xiang Liu’s idea version of a man for XY and I believe FFB is XL’s most truthful self if he hasn’t need to carry the burden he promise his God father to protect his army. I finished reading the novel. IMO, he does seems to fallen for her voice quite early, like infactuation. And when he found her, he pursue her directly. It’s good thing she is his fans, but for her I didn’t feel she loves him yet, more like idolizes him a lot. Felt it’s because in the book ML is a smooth and although he is rather quick in confessing, he is also respectful, so didn’t feel he is tracking and felt FL can easily fall for him. Just hard to imagine a guy would fallen in love for a voice and so determine that will be his love of his life, definitely very confident and sure of himself. And of course FL is pretty, what if she is ugly…I don’t know and don’t want to go there. Just want to stay at the moment of a perfect love. lol!
