The romantic interest was ML’s past. I see it significant plot to show ML’s growth at present. So far the story revolves around the brotherhood and mystery solving. It’s enjoyable, hope you do pick it up again and skipped the flashbacks.

Yes, XY and XL has emotional connection😍. XY to 17, feels more like she wants to protect him, like how she has been protective of everyone she knew in the town. XL is a demon, but soon he will fall deeply for her but I don’t think he will ever show her. Their love is a painful kind.

XY has gone through a lot of suffering. And somehow she emphasize and feels for XL, so she is never angry with him. Somehow she feels he is as lonely as her and vice versa. XY shared truthfully about her past to him, which she never shared with anyone else.
Finally his senior’s corpse has been found. But after 10 years, how come his body doesn’t rot? Did Shi Hun use some magical preservation? I may have miss that…😅

Thanks for clarifying her role. I have no issues with CDL. I guess her role in TTEOTM really leave a mark in me, so unable to accept her in the new drama. But I know she plays a supportive character to ML in that drama;). You watching that too?
