A Strong Forensic Start That Shifts Away from Its Best Strengths
This review is based on episodes 1–18 (roughly half the series).
I originally started this drama about a year ago, but long gaps between viewing sessions made it difficult to stay fully engaged. I was initially drawn in because I enjoy forensic and investigative storytelling, and the early episodes delivered exactly that. The focus on careful observation, reconstruction of events, and evidence-based reasoning was especially compelling, and I enjoyed following the investigative process step by step.
Alongside the individual cases, there is also an ongoing political storyline involving court factions and broader power struggles. As the series progresses toward the midpoint, this larger narrative becomes more prominent, shifting the overall balance away from the forensic elements that originally interested me. Because of the long break in viewing, it also became harder for me to keep track of the political developments, which affected my overall engagement.
Overall, I did find the early part of the drama enjoyable. The characters are likable, and the investigative work is particularly strong when it takes center stage. However, as the focus shifted more heavily toward the political storyline, I found myself less connected to the direction of the series, and ultimately decided not to continue.
