An Engaging Story Structure Weakened by the Script
Recently, I’ve been referring to “meh” watches as rotten tomatoes, and this one fits the bill. I started watching it when it first came out at the end of last year, but I took a long break because I struggled with the execution.
I can’t clearly recall my initial impression, but I suspect I was drawn in by the premise and narrative structure, which had an engaging framework. However, I quickly became less fond of the female lead’s performance. The portrayal felt overly exaggerated at times and lacked the authenticity and strength I was hoping for, which ultimately detracted from the overall story for me. The twists were interesting, and the structure of the storyline itself was enough to keep me engaged. That said, the ending felt underwhelming despite being happy. There were still moments I appreciated, particularly the development and reconnection between the female lead and the second female lead, which I found compelling.
However, overall, there weren’t enough strong or emotionally impactful moments to outweigh the aspects that didn’t work for me.
