So I have only watched until episode 21, but I have such intense feelings that I feel like I can't wait to finish to discuss, and plus it seems only right since they've officially broken up.

Flora and Luke are a complex couple. Flora excels in some many areas that she shows matureness and thoughtfulness that you'd think that she'd be the same in her relationship, but I feel like I grew frustrated in every episode that passes because I can't seem to fully understand some of her actions. Like in the beginning I agreed that it was hard to fully be herself because they had some sort of "benefit" relationship that was hidden and there wasn't anything that Luke was doing to create safety and trust in a way that she'd be able to fully express herself. But as time passes, Luke is so sometimes so cold that I get that she can retreat to herself but the more their relationship continues the more I see that somehow he is creating that environment where they acknowledged that they're together, that he wants to know more about her and her life, and there have been several incidents such as Dony that Flora should have been able to tell him about what is happening to her and the feelings that she is having and the troubles that she is. she knows that Luke is fixer and capable so why is that she still keeps things to herself, and it isn't that she thinks that she is able to fix things by herself that sort of pride, rather she is capable of sharing things with Lumi, and sun yu and even the guy roommate that she just doesn't share with him, and that is so strange to him that I find myself unable to fully understand her. And sometimes idk if it is the actress acting (which i doubt bc ive seen her other shows and loved it) she is uncomfortable in his presence even if they are saying that they love each other and have been together that i am like what is going on?? I'm not going to lie to you, I feel like Flora's tendency to keep things to herself isolates Luke in a way that I'd understand sometimes he would have trust issues bc certain things he finds out after the fact and he never knows anything about her. Like when the guy friend died and they've yet to fight but Flora didn't call him or tell him anything she just moved on with her life, and she was hurt deeply and that was one of the reasons she was lashing out and if he'd known that he'd understand her. She just feels like she is uncomfortable in the relationship even in the times that she is seemly happy.

And Luke, honestly he frustrates me so much because in the beginning he was trash with the way he spoke to her and acted but I grew fond of him in the middle of the series bc he was beginning to open up more, but I hate and HATE when he grew angry bc he doesn't say what he means he just belittles Flora and is incredibly defensive that it doesn't matter what she says he will be cruel, and you can be mad at someone but you cant be cruel to someone you supposedly love. He doesn't trust her, and like i said before I think this stems partly from the fact that Flora doesn't share any of her feelings and thoughts with him and he often finds himself guessing or hearing from others, but he doesn't trust her bc he also has deep issues himself. Honestly if a man spoke to you the way Luke does when he gets angry it is not a relationship you should enter. and in that scene they are arguing after the awards where they break up I was like screaming that this is exactly the kind of time when you should get angry and minimise your partners feelings but instead he was like having an aura of you're overreacting and thinking like a boss instead of her boyfriend, and honestly that is also one of the biggest issues with him, he often thinks like her boss and gives her lectures instead of understand that you're equal in a relationship. I think they worked well when they were happy but they need to work on themselves and understanding themselves before they can fully be in a relationship, like instead of saying how you're feeling they just became petty.

More thoughts to continue as I watch the rest of the show.

She doesn't feel she has the right to ask him questions as their arrangement was basically friends with benefits.…
Yes I have seen all episodes, and I’ve seen that part and that was why sometimes I’m drawn in by their slow realisation towards each other and that Lian is for example understanding that he’s turning out to be like his father, but at the same time the whole thing about Alex and the job, and my whole thought about communication he’s panicking and he’s feeling a lot of things but he’s saying it in all the wrong ways and she’s closing up because he’s her boss and it’s a sensitive situation but at the same time he’s her boyfriend ish and she doesn’t know how to express her emotions towards and it doesn’t help that he’s so freaking emotionless sometimes like lumi spoke to her the way I expected him to talk to her and idek where I’m going with this I’m just frustrated at their lack of communication but that’s what often comes with any situationship

Honestly by the way they resolved the issue with the best friend shows that they are capable of making it if they just communicate with each other. Honestly the whole thing is a mess because I kind of understand that flora isn’t able to fully communicate with Luke because he’s her boss but at the same he’s also her boyfriend so she should be able to confined in him, this is why it’s so messy with boss employee relationship. I feel like their current relationship is held together by the glues of their friends and it doesn’t translate well when they’re with each other lian nian was so wrong for this episode and the way he brutally verbally attacked her if it was real life I’d say to run away as soon as possible but at the same time I keep wishing for tao to speak and open her mouth and communicate and then I keep wishing nian to also communicate and it’s just so messy

Title Shine on Me Spoiler
I don't remember her weighing herself or even worrying about weight but I think it's pretty typical for women…
I recently binged the show over the last two days, and it stood out to me from pretty early on. From the beginning, there are several moments where weight comes up, like when she weighs herself after she starts the job and is surprised that she gained and when they comment that it’s because of snacking or cafeteria food, and later when people mention she’s lost weight in the hospital. None of it felt overtly negative or positive to me, just very frequent. I wasn’t saying it was portrayed badly, it just caught my attention because it came up so often and from different people as well as if the writer was obsessed with that, and I kept wondering if it was leading somewhere or meant something more, but it never really did. Totally possible others didn’t notice it the same way

Title Shine on Me
While I liked the drama overall and really loved the chemistry between the leads (although I didn’t end up finishing it because it got too slow after they got together) I couldn’t help but feel distracted by the frequent comments about weight gain. It wasn’t just one character or one scene, it kept coming up, from remarks about eating too much to the main character weighing herself. Because it didn’t seem tied to any real storyline or character growth, it felt unnecessary and left a weird impression rather than adding anything meaningful.. was it just me

Yes, I also posted my rant about XQ towards SY in the other posts. I am looking forward for next week.
Let me know how it goes, hopefully it'll be better!

Title Fireworks of My Heart Spoiler
The way this drama is making me lose my patience. I really liked the first episodes of the drama, where we could clearly see the hurt that Song Yan felt and the courage that the fl displayed. I binge-watched the drama last night and it made me so stressed and annoyed by the development of the FL. I get the fact that she didn't have the courage to stand up against her mother when she was a teenager, but at least she could've explained the situation to him, instead of just leaving like that. But i'm going to let that slide because they were just kids, but now I can't stand her as a grown up.

She comes back and disturbs the life that Song Yan created for himself, and expected for him to let her root herself back into his life, knowing fully that the reasons for why she couldn't be with him still existed i.e her mother and brother. She yells at him and asks why he isn't fighting for her, when she hasn't yet to apologise for leaving like she did, and take fault in her actions (frankly i don't know why Song Yan felt sorry for her). When he gives her an ultimatum, she goes back to being the coward that she is, and doesn't chose him. She wants it all but doesn't realise that she wasn't able to have it back when she was young and she isn't going to have it now. All that she does is cry, cry and cry.

She blames everything on her family, and whines about not being able to be herself and with Song Yan. She wants to show herself as an independent woman, yet doesn't take any steps to show it. She has no boundaries set for herself towards her family and allows her family dictate every inch. Frankly, i'm accepting towards the trauma that she has towards her mother that doesn't allow to stand up to her but her brother?? she is going to let him talk about SY like that and not say anything against it??? She keep saying stay out of my business, yet runs back to them despite the disrespect that they have shown towards her decisions and SY. This girl annoys me to the core.

SY deserves more, and I hate dramas that create the lousiest character as lead and have them end up with the other lead when in reality, they would've chosen a much more better person.

And I hate the lack of development of their relationship, i'm going to give the benefit of the doubt because we are half way towards the show, but I feel like the writers haven't given them a reason to choose each other in the present, much of their relationship relays on their past. The writers keep using their work lives to get them in scenes together, like she magically happens to be at the accident that he is working at, or the whole "task force" thingy which was so unbearable to watch. I don't like dramas that use these kind of plots to further the characters relationship. Like okay, so they work well together, that's good for a firefighter and a doctor, but what about them out of it??

Frankly, i don't even like her as a doctor, she is weird with the way she acts towards her collegues, and what does "i don't lose the job" mean as a motivation for being a doctor? (I honestly fast-forward every scene of her being a doctor, which doesn't leave me much of her scenes, which also shows how much this show relays on their titles)

I feel like for me to want them together, i need to see them outside of their work, having a real dinner, or a talk. I need to see her own up to her mistakes and apologise, and i need SY to hold her accountable.

I'm going to quit watching it for a while and watch it when it has finished, just so i don't waste my time anymore.
