WATCH THE DIRECTOR CUT!

Normally I don't write reviews but I think this time I have to write one or not really writing one but just draw attention to it, so pls read that before (or during) watching the series.

This series starts so beautifully. The main actors Leo and Tai (Tan and Oil) did such an amazing job by representing the main characters. I really was into it during all the scenes and the chemistry was on top. I really enjoyed every single scene.
BUT and this is the main point that I really don't understand. In this series there are two important scenes between Tan and Oil and they just cut them out. I don't want to spoil but just look up (EP 1 and EP12 directors cut) and watch them. Because I think when you miss these scenes you will be a bit upset after finishing the series. With the scenes I think it is well done. Nothing special but worth watching I guess. All in all the story is pretty basic and sometimes a bit frustrating but when you watch the whole series with the missing scenes you will like how it ends.

I wasn't really into the other main couples but I think everyone has a different point of view and I guess you could like the other couples too.
Also the ending was a bit .... ÄHHHHM OK?! But yeah.

For me personally, it wasn't that new and some plots and scenes are a bit unnecessary. Although this series hasn't a special story line or an important message but I think as a BL fan you can still watch and enjoy it.

A childhood story with a different feeling

Tbh, I watched many BL series and a lot of them were high quality (like Until we meet again) but I think this series has a very different feeling from all the BL series, that I have watched so far. It is intense in a way that is breathtaking. The intimate scenes in this series are special and beautifully shooted. During some parts you hold on your breath and don't want to make a single noise as you forget where you are. I totally understand the high rating of this series and I want to add another one!
This series did something to me, that no other BL did. I don't really know how to describe these with words, but just watch it and you may understand what I mean.
There is no staged drama or something like that, this feels so real and normal like someone would tell me his story from his childhood.
Just wow - for me it is a masterpiece.

"Accepting yourself" - BEST storylined BL of 2020

First of all, I have to admit that I was a bit scared watching it, as it's a Filipino BL series and I made the experience that they are often really cringe and exaggerated. For example: I liked 'My Day' but most of the series I had to bite my fist as it was just too much and I skipped some scenes because I wasn't able to watch it.

GayaSaPelikula was on my watchlist but I totally forgot about it and missed the airing date. Looking back - a good expiry because I could watch it in one piece.
It had my intention again because I saw a sneak peak on YouTube and skimmed some reviews on MyDramaList (everyone gave a 10 or wrote a nice comment) so I told myself 'ok let's watch it even it's a Filipino BL' and OMG GUYS I DIDN'T REGRET IT!

Three words: JUST WATCH IT!
For me personally this series was one of the BEST LGBTQ series I EVER watched. It shows the reality of a coming out.

-Not the coming out to other people - the issue with yourself by accepting who you are.-

I really felt with the main character Karl and I could empathize to his anxiety and thoughts. For me it wasn't just another BL. It's an "Accepting yourself who you are" story combined with a homosexual main character. And especially if you aren't a part of the LGBTQ community - due to that series you get a better understanding how hard it is to accept yourself for who you are, who you love. I think now I even understand more the main issues and how people of the LGBTQ community goes through this process by watching GayaSaPelikula.

The acting was on top, the story line is a masterpiece because it shows how life could be. Just put attention to the small details in this show and you know what I mean.
I think this is a series that everyone who aren't familiar with LGBTQ should watch to understand better, especially the older generation.

All in all for me indcluding 'I Told Sunset About You' the best storylined BL series of 2020 and a MUST WATCH for everyone.
