I think that both the friend and the ex-girlfriend of the ML are cowards. You don't make those choices when you really care for someone. If the friend made that choice, at least he should've moved on and not still have lingering feelings for his friend's partner. The ex was the worst, her excuse made me totally roll my eyes, if you don't like the guy, don't date him and then hurt him. I also hated the fact that the ML was really clueless and saw just what he wanted to see.
Have you ever watched a drama where you wished the FL never ended with the ML? That's what this drama did to me. I've never seen such an indecisive person as the FL, And every time she got fooled by the 2ML and did nothing got on my nerves. I expected so much and ended up watching the last 6 episodes in fast forward 3x. What a waste...
I really really liked this drama, it was short and to the point. No melodrama and clichés. I loved the kids' short stories the most. Their younger selves were way too fun. They made me expect the start of each ep. with much eagerness and see what other antics they'll come up with. It was really nice. A 10/10.
If they come up with a 4th season for this drama, i think i can already guess what's it's going to be like. SAME SCRIPT BUT DIFFERENT SETTING. It' getting boring... Say, work life setting with a mean female colleague and a nice male colleage falling for the FL again and again. Tbh, i didn’t agree with the mean girls' actions in all seasons, however i can see where they come from... how can she be all smiles with every guy and doing things that she should only do with her BF. Come on, i know the writers wanted to portray a nice and innocent FL but i think it's way too forced and it's getting tiring. I hope i'm not giving them ideas to come up with another boring season.

I think that is the essence of the entire drama. Wanting to see when she finally loves him back is what kept every lover of this drama going, no matter how many times SHI YI is disappointed or hurt because of her indifference.
I had mixed feelings while watching the entire drama since i was frustrated and wanted to strangle the FL on numerous occasions. Even though the ending was rushed, it is worth watching. It finally settles your heart to at least watch her hurt a little for him.
I fell in love with SHI YI's character that no matter how many times i was engaged for his suffering, i could rewatch all over again, just for him.
So, i actively recommend you to finish it, it hurts but at the end it heals too.
Trust me, 36 eps will go by in a blink, and by the end of it you'll be wanting more 💕
I'm a sucker for HE. I hate all sad, tragic, open or farewell endings. I said i would've preferred the book ending because my annoyance of her love for the 2ML was on a high level. But in my heart i'm content with the drama ending eventhough it was too rushed. If they were going to give us a happy ending after everything we went through with them as the audience. We deserve something better.
Still, it's one of my favourites. I will not choose to go through all that angst again but for SHI YI, we never know.

Not reciprocate per say since it was way too late when she realizes it. Around ep. 34. They don't show them as couple, just a little in the last 2 eps. Which is really a shame because we deserve to watch their love blossom after all that angst.

Can i say that i prefer the ending in the book? I loved this drama but i can't get over the fact that SHI YI hurt for her for the entirety of the drama and she never looked back until it was too late. It was really frustrating!!!
Still in the last episode, he is the one running towards her without her ever making an effort to run towards him or meet him midway. I guess their journey towards love is really like "A river runs through it".

If you haven't watch familiar wife yet. I guess i should encourage you to, it's really great. It has the same vibe as Go Back Couple and lots of comedy. It's really fun to watch, give a try. You won't regret it. Happy watch 👌🏽
