Go on and WATCH IT!!!

I have no complaints about this drama. Even if there was a slight wrong in the whole drama, I didn't notice it because the acting, the story the scenes were soooo good.

I absolutely go bonkers for historical Kdramas and this was one of it.
Jang hui bin especially was played to perfection, the badest bad. A proper villian who took all the advantages against her protagonist. the humor to the story now and then. The wonderful depiction of Crown Princes Suning and Yeoning (Gyeongjong and Yeongjo) loved it!!!
You'd have missed a whole world of fun if don't watch it!

A load of Cheese than I'd like.

Well, this is definitely not a serious drama, the producers made it certain from the looks.
Everything going on in there was super cheesy and unreal, even a fictionalized series should have solid elements of reality to ground the fantasy being induced, however this one is more like eating icing on the cake without ever having the actual cake( I think we all know what happens in the restroom afterwards)

I'm not a fan of corny romantics but yeah I guess I bothered to finish it for the love of kdrama, however this one is definitely not a drama I'd come back to.

Politics is about sharing:whom do we give and whom do we take from..

That, above, is one of my many take homes from this series, it will teach you beyond what you thought you already knew.

Cast.....
Yi Bang Won; I really don't believe there could've been better casts for this role and indeed any of the other roles, why? The actors did such splendid job in bringing their characters to life,so much energy, emotions...pheww!!! Too many words cannot possibly describe the perfection.

Story...
A grand prize for the diligent genius behind the fictitious aspect of this drama! A drama ought to be able to drench the audience with the right amount of suspence and common sense, this is probably why most dramas end up in the baskets... unnecessary suspence, too little suspence or too much suspence, absence of common Sense-- most writters seem to throw this one out the window, they need to realize that these dramas aren't for the kindergarten viewing classes and that REAL life people expect to watch dramas that seem real enough (don't bore us with blankness and tragedy, if you must tickle us with utopia, MAKE IT REAL AND CONVINCING!) We're not babies. So I must now in respect for this particular writter(s) for a masterpiece, 감사합니다!??‍♀️

Music...
This one one of those dramas that I'll definitely check out tracks, it's got some really interesting tunes, especially for people like me that love instrumentals or even old classics. I have nothing much to say except that these selection conveyed every bit of emotions that it's supposed to.

If you've watched this series, you'll definitely want to watch it again sometime, so I definitely recommend a first watch, Have fun!!!.

The scenic beauty of this drama, a big bonus.

I think what made up for the lacks and potholes in the emperor was the attention to the side factors, seemingly unimportant elements of each scenes. From the beautiful landscapes, the plant blossoms, the stunning sunsets, the demeanor of the locals going about their business in a very matter-of fact way, the customes?(although I felt they could've done better with the Kings' and Queen dowagers' official wardrobe) and the soundtracks were simply amazing.

*Okay I'm a huge saeguk fan,no no.... I'm an unrepentant hooogeee!! fan of Kdramas ??
I'll recommend this drama for the love of Korean historicals.*

*The not so good*....... Ga Eun??‍♀️, her appearance in the first episode promised alot more but about two episodes down the line, the character turned out a disappointment. As the student of medicine and a pupil of former Sungkyunkwan master, she deserved a better script than playing the trophy girl in distress. The script made it seem as though the crown Prince's character would've been utterly useless without him running over the place on her matter, with the initial plot, she ought to have been a sort of (bong Yun, roots of the throne) and not a Rapunzel waiting to be swooped, making ridiculous decisions without communication despite knowing the current challenges faced,(then there's the rushed affection between her and the CPrince, it sort of felt like the prince developed "intense love" for her mostly beacause of his role in her father's death) with the way the romance turned out, it was utterly ridiculous for her to run off as a court lady without discussions or proper planning which betrayed the "die for you" peak of their romance since at that rate she'd have known what'd crush the prince but noo....'ima jump into the war zone and hope for utopian salvation' especially when she (without backup)made those outrageous trip to the Kings' room to sniff around. Another betrayal of the supposed "hot romance" was Ga eun-ah becoming a clueless puppet when it came to her deceased father and his honor, she seemed to suggest for half of the entire drama that the Crown prince(as lord Cheon soo) be damned until she regained her father's honor.
And there's poor Hwa gun, exceptional second FL, brilliant, thoughtful and I incredibly loyal to the brutal end, after all those story saving sacrifices, she ended up sadly, it was agonizing to say the least though that sad fate is very much understandable because shits like that happen more often in life than desired.
In all, the actors did well, the potholes was in the script writing because So hyun and others would've done better but for characters scripts being poorly developed.

Nevertheless, I'll recommend this drama to absolutely anyone, especially those like myself who find pleasure in other aspects of Kdrama than the scripting.

it's a Saeguk,Saeguk!. 세국이예요!

Yes, I'm an unapologetic fan of Saeguks and I don't want to repent of it at all, 싫어.

For this reason I'm writing a small token. This drama is undoubtedly one of the most frustrating love story ever told. Jeongjo and Uibin, it shatters my fragile heart. However, the end offered a sort of closure for all the frustration I had endured through out the drama. I absolutely adored the friendship between Duk Im and her friends,it was a breath of fresh air. it turned out this perfect because every one of the actors chewed their roles without spitting, each conveying the needed emotions with undeniable expertise.
it was all too beautiful to witness, I love the part where each of the friends talked about their meeting together later in life(here or afterlife) the story of "going back home after we become old". it was just the kinds of spice that makes my heart sing.

I'll say, just go watch it, It's worth it!

It was a very good drama. Unless for personal grudges with the actors and actresses, there's nothing much to hate on in this drama

My favorite part in the story was how the writer presented the logic of vampires being infected by a virus and how that concept was religiously maintained throughout the drama that alone is gold point for the script writer.

I'm very much vexed at the finale, it almost or did rubbish the entire story. The writer ought to have calmed down and developed a breathtaking ending since he really did a good job with whole thing until the finale. The last part might have you ramming your head to the ground in frustration but a good drama nevertheless. I recommend a watch because you can't say no to seeing a kdrama at least once?
