I understand that the way the character was portrayed doesnt represent much of the Arab Muslim community, but…
No one even remembered or cared that it was an Arab prince. Like everyone who’s not Arab didn’t get a bad image let alone care about it at all

now ur just assuming that all white people don’t take other people’s culture into account …talk about double standards. I wouldn’t mind if an Arab actor played an Indian role because that person is an actor and it’s immature to get mad over tiny things like this. It’s so silly. This character was there for barely two whole episode and y’all get pressed and start hate commenting on his page on Instagram. “The only role u could ever play is a driver working for an Arab” racist remarks like this to the actor? Why are ygs mad at him when all he did was play a role which tbh doesn’t seem rude and offensive to anyone else but some Arab ppl because frankly they don’t even care it’s such an insignificant role I might say and yk no one even remembered that the character is Arab and no one cares. Here’s another comment “o worshipper of cows, you are not qualified to represent the character of an Arab man” the same people calling the show Islamophobia are the ones hating on another religion..the fact that some Arab person would even comment this doesn’t help their point in character representation because that persons character is awful.

Ik the clothes in a few scene are Arab clothing but I’m saying that the dialogue never says anything to represent the culture. And many people are getting mad that he was drinking and partying but what’s wrong with that? It’s not specified or said that he’s Muslim or should be doing that. Ik many Arab people who love to party and I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all. A character in a show who was there for barely 2 episodes does nothing to affect people’s impression of that culture. Just because he didn’t portray a conservative Arab person doesn’t mean that all Arabs are the way that character was. I’d like to think of it as the way that this character was jolly and added so much comedy to the show and it really brightened those two episodes.

No I’m sure they could have used an Indian actor. But I think that because Indians and many Arabs are brown skinned, they don’t really out much attention to what race is casted, just like in squid game the Indian actor played a non Indian role, but I think that because it’s a character it can be overlooked. I personally just dislike the fact that many people who are Arab are taking offense to having an Indian actor play an Arab character. Like he is a good actor and can speak Korean, and he’s famous as well. I don’t think there are Arab actors who speak Korean and are famous in the kdrama world, so they used an Indian one. And I think they made the character an “Arab prince” because arab people are known for their wealth or richness, just like Asians are known for being smart. It’s just a positive stereotype ig and it doesn’t really mean any harm. And it’s not like the Arab character had anything to do with any arab country. They never even brought up his religion or where he’s from so there shouldn’t be any offense taken because he didn’t really represent anything Arabic.

I think that some ppl doesn't undestand why arab are this mad. this inst the first time that in a kdrama arab…
I understand that the way the character was portrayed doesnt represent much of the Arab Muslim community, but I think that since it’s a kdrama I let it pass personally. Because ik that the intent was not to make it rude to Arabs but the intention was to have a funny character. I think this character could have been of any race and culture but it an attempt to show diversity as well as have another colored actor, they made the character Arab. And I don’t think people should get insulted over an Indian okayed an Arab role.. in many western shows Korean actors play Chinese roles etc. it’s just a character so I don’t think people should get so pressed, cuz the culture in Korea is dif. Just imo :)

i love it when people get offended over fictional charachters,i want to congratulate the indian actor for overcoming…
Yeah! And ik people r getting pressed but like it’s only a character! And it’s not like all Arab Muslims are conservative, they are so many who party and drink etc. and that isn’t creating a stereotype unlike what people are saying. It’s j that the culture has a variety of people. And yea they all getting mad that it was an Indian actor like why is that an insult lmao

Not all Korean ppl have the same mentality…saying that just makes u racist.
I agree, ppl have preferences and we can’t judge them for that. In American shows some ppl always say t he y like tanned men or women, similarly, some Koreans like light skinned girls.
