Yup, I think a lot of viewers look at his behaviour from a modern perspective and not the norm of that era. He would already be considered exceptionally lenient and generous for that time. Of course he lied but people forgot that he assumed she was the enemy and he did saved her and didn’t abuse her. In a war context everything goes as his enemy said. He didn’t expect to fall in love and he was already too deep in his lies to backtrack. The FL (her real self) would be just as cunning if she had her memory.
And it is absolutely not the norm for a man of his stature to only have one wife and allow her to work and be as free. You don’t seem to realise that a woman like her (no family) would either end up rogue, sold or forced to marry a random man. They had no choice back then.

It was soooooo satisfying that the aunt/cousin gave him a valid reason to cancel the wedding. Won’t have to deal with their scheming and he won’t feel guilty for having another wife.

I must admit that I’m mostly loving the FL acting and the plot. I would agree that the ML actor’s acting here is not strong. Something about his facial expressions is exaggerated, unpolished and not fit for the character he is playing so can’t connect to him yet. But Ill definitely keep on watching as the FL is amazing and this is the trope I love

And does she know about his identity when she ends up pregnant ? How come the ML’s cousin (whom he is supposed to marry) accepts that he is having a baby with FL?

You look at things from an emotional, modern standpoint. I look at things from their era. At that time, a woman like her who lost her family would have been forced to marry or sold to a brothel. He is a royal, so him not taking advantage of a beautiful woman is a rarity

But it’s not the book. Dramas can be very different from the book.

Mmmm could be much worst though. She was dying and he saved her. He is lying but treats her well and doesn’t take advantage of her. She lost her memory so she could have ended up in a much worst scenario.

Novel readers please…at which point will the ML start loving her romantically (so when do they become a real couple)? I love spoilers. Thanks ;)

I wondered the same - they usually mess up men's foundation in dramas but maybe he is blessed with good skin and doesn't have a lot of facial hair.
