I won’t be giving a rating. I’m not a novel reader, so I’m not familiar with the original story, but as…
They are making a remake of at least few of the original books as we'll speak. They follow the books almost to the letter and the cast is great. A lot of lines from the novel is used. It's called Time Raiders (make sure it's the series from 2025). Book one (The first tomb with the tree from season 1) and a coming adventure that takes place on a sunken boat is the plot of the first book. That part was shown in Lost Tomb 2 but they moved on to the next book right away so they include other stuff as well. Part of the ending in Lost Tomb 2 will be replaced in Lost Tomb 2.5: Explore with the Note, because they ended up missing large parts in Lost Tomb 2. I wholeheartedly recommend that for someone just getting onbord the chaos trip that is Lost Tomb you should start with the newest series. Next book is from what I can tell (almost?) in the works. As for the other seasons, the screenwriters has taken quite a lot of liberties but they are super charming and you watch them for that and the chaos they bring alone. Every season has a new cast, there are a few recast actors but that's it. Every new actor bring something new to the characters and I love it. I do recommend watching them at some point because it's an experience. Best seasons of the old series is 4 and 6, then 3 and 5. the rest is counting backwards; 2,5, 2 and 1.

Im super excited for this new possibility to se my favourite characters in yet another light. ❤️

Title The Vendetta of An Spoiler
i have not started it and really want to but cheng yi has traumatised me. Does he die/everybody except him die…
One spoiler, coming up!

Well, it is Cheng Yi. I would say it's an open ending for him. There's a short episode that takes place after the main series but I've only seen it without subtitles so I have no idea what is said. However, I'm not sure I would say it's a happy ending for his character. Artistic, definitely, but not happy.

As for the other semi main/main characters, several dies during the span of the show but a few do survive.

With all this said, it is fantastically balanced and I don't think a single death was unnecessary for the progress of the story (a death is always unnecessary of course, but here it's well thought out to fit the story). It's very well done and a wild ride from start to finish. I'm usually a HE-girl and often get annoyed when characters are sacrificed for chock value but I didn't feel any of that here. I can of course not speak for everyone, but for me it was absolutely worth the emotional roller coaster to experience this series. It's not a sweet series, and it never claims to be because the pacing and grit it set right at the beginning. This is not a cozy watch, but it is heartfelt.
