Dear Nita, fans of the drama appreciate both his unwavering hard work and his dashing appearance as an actor,…
I'll add a spoiler tag just in case.. :3 (& it's a huge block of words too..)
"(wouldn't shrinking technically be him scaling down to a miniature version of his adult self?)" Sorry, that was a mistake on my part~ You're right, it shouldn't be shrunk but entirely changed in appearance.
"Are you trying to say that anything goes as long as it's in a fantasy world?" No and yes, but that also doesn't mean anything that happens in that world is without proper cause. What I said above was "anything can happen", and since it's a fantasy, we should be watching with an open mindset, all the while following the logic of this particular world. Here, the sudden & imbalanced powers ML received were so strong that they affected even his physical traits (cuz his body couldn't handle). Who knows, something entirely different could happen to other shadow puppets, like instant d8ath. His turning into a child is a form of a recovery process for his body, and him getting used to the foreign object that has embedded itself into his heart. Also, like others have already explained, when he slowly has control over that power, he couldn't just immediately show himself as his true adult form, because it could cause problems.
And about that reminder, some seem to have completely forgotten that it's an imaginary world, and keep on saying what's realistic or what's not. Being critical is one thing, but those who just plainly criticise are a bit upsetting. If I had misunderstood your pov about this part, I apologise, but I also hope you would understand our viewpoints. ⭐ฅ/ᐠ🝦 ༝ 🝦 ฅ\
I like Ryan Cheng, and I really wanted to like this c-drama.... but I can't be the only one a bit freaked out…
Dear Nita, fans of the drama appreciate both his unwavering hard work and his dashing appearance as an actor, but that doesn't mean we "lust" after him, and connecting that to his characters from the drama doesn't make much sense imo. What you wanted to imply may have been much more reasonable, hopefully, but the way you've worded your view can be misunderstood by many. Plz correct me if I'm wrong. :)
First of all, [Shadow Love] takes place in a fantasy world. Anything unreasonable you've mentioned can happen, like changes in appearance. In fact, the ML is indeed an adult who just shrank into a smaller version due to the unsettling, INCOMPLETE power that was forced inside him (a side effect). His consciousness is still that of an adult male, although he shrank. (It was mentioned that he remembers he's actually an adult when he became a child.) Just a 2nd reminder; this story is inside a FANTASY world, and what we always think of as we watched on was just "Jin An, the ML who shrunk" and not "the child = CL". As for the Shaung (FL), she fell in love with ML's true form(adult). If it were vice-versa, she wouldn't even see him as a man, even if ML had turned into his adult version... So, plz don't worry about her choices~ :3
I can't help that we have different opinions, but sometimes words can hurt, even if unintentionally.. Thus, I'll return all the cabbages you threw fully seasoned, cooked, and packed... 🥬💖 You're welcome~✨
I do not feel the same with Xiao Kaiyan tho. I like Xiao Yiren, mom (mostly) and dad.
I knew you wouldn't say it without a reason, Noona~ ^•ω<^ ੭✨ Lol, no wonder he's all smiley-smiley all the time. I got tricked..! He's still the old him! X"D
Do you mean Cheng Yi? I think, yes (from what I read in the previous comments). I'm still at Ep6, and haven't reached that revelation part of the story yet.. :'3

Oh my~ Are there any specific reasons in the plot? For me, I like all of them~ I find XKY interesting, cuz the actor was always given villain roles before (as far as I know)... So, his being the 2nd son of a righteous sect is somewhat a fresh image imo~ XD (Also, I'm a slow watcher, and I'm still in the middle of Ep6.. X'D)
Speaking of Ep6, it gave me goosebumps during the scenes where they first encountered the poisonous fog, and when the poisoned disciples got pulled back into that fog...! I was like, "Eek! They're here!! (⊙_⊙) ! "
Whenever they show us the Xiao brothers together, I dunno why, but I'd always tear up... /ᐠ っ˕ -。マ I don't want to watch the end of their beautiful brotherhood (nor their family's demise), but the trailers are hinting at a potential tragedy.
