So I'm planning to watch this for Cheng Lei π Those who completed the drama, please tell me how intense the…
Heya~ Just to be clear, Shadow Love is more romance than political, so it mainly focuses on the female and male leads' love journey in the first 29/30 episodes. ALSO, our FL, Shuang, is more of a female general who relies on her wits and strategies rather than power or strength (informing ya just in case :3)
The angst arcs start after episode 30, in which he lost his memories of his days as Jin An. The "heavy-hearted pain, humiliation, or aching betrayal that the FL lead has to go through" would be during the torture scenes, at the start of the memory-loss part, which went for about 4-5 episodes... However, it wasn't dragged out for too long (which is good imo), and ML slowly but surely remembers his sweet past with the FL.. His habits during the days with the FL have already become a part of him, which he didn't even realise~ It was delightful to watch π€.
That said, the initial 30 episodes do involve gripping fight scenes, such as that iconic "landing on the ML's arm" scene during one of FL's battles against the Yao army. Their chemistry is fire~β€βπ₯β¨β€βπ₯β¨
Anyways, [Shadow Love] is mainly a "romance fantasy" genre, with traces of war and political plotlines. This is a 3-in-1 royal package of Cheng Lei, which you rarely get to experience, so welcome to the squad~ (β qβ β’Μβ α΄β -β )β β§
This drama so great only when the romance focus on the leadsπ―. But I can still say the plot bothers me, it's…

From what I see, some of the conversations have underlying contexts and meanings. E.g., Lu Xin's. She was clearly furious at Duan Ao Deng for not coming clean with Shuang when she was still alive, only to reappear as Jin'an when it's too late. (And know that the Linglong Jade is a dangerous artefact, a potential threat to many people and a 'double-edged sword' which can turn a person into a killing machine.) The meaning behind her words is directed at Ao Deng's arrogance(?) for daring to demand such an important relic/artefact to justify his wrongdoings towards her friend only when she's gone. Even so, she's worried for him as well. I'll just say this again, but that thing is dangerous, could later become a threat to many people... And, Lu Xin may seem like an immature person to some, due to her way of speaking, but she always means well to those around her and is sometimes sarcastic.
Hope this clarifies the misunderstanding about Lu Xin a bit~ ^^
Why does it make me cry so much during their farewell scenes with their respective Emperors... I became especially emotional during the conversation between the two royal brothers... And when Ao Deng first heard of Shuang's death.. ππππ
"So today is your real birthday" The bittersweet look on both Shuang'er and Ao Deng (Jin An) when Shuang'er said that, reminiscing about their 'oath' on the blossoming tree, was heart-wrenching to watch.. π₯Ί
According to the info from "Marcus Here", [The Journey of Legend ] will air before Fated Hearts... Not…
Hi @RHOMBUS, just saw a new trailer of the upcoming drama on Youku, [Tales of the Dark River]. This will probably take some time to air tho... the earliest could be October according to the rumours... I'm just giving a heads up since you asked about Youku's drama..
Whaaa... no way. He got the redemption arc for real? (still at Ep 35, haven't continued)
Oh wow, The King of OSTs!!! He slays that music genre~
I'm both excited and nervous about reaching the end X3 lol It's also nice to know the ending first and foremost~ I'm taking it slow until the story sink into my bones~ Shadow Love imo gave us both a slow-burn and fast track story telling process, with a mix of various genres. Binge-watching it once more would be great!
