This is the golden age of villains I presume π They're all sneaky in their own ways~ I love how the villains are portrayed here; formidable with no-nonsense attitudes, but have their own stories for revenge. Some are brash while some are calculative. There are several grey characters too, except for one lovelorn princess π« ....

Thank you for a very detailed response!β¨ As for Murong Yao being a loose cannon, I couldn't agree more to that lol~ For someone who has so much filial piety, I'm guessing his goals may have been connected to his father, or maybe someone else, too... That reason alone doesn't really make sense enough for a rebellion either..π€ HMMM... My little brain can't think anymore, so I'll just stop guessing π€£. They'll show us soon anyways~ (β β§β β½β β¦β )
Whie everyone complains about the same OST playing constant, I might be the only one unbothered by it, in fact…
You're not alone~ π I'm loving it, too!β¨ Especially the opening credits OST. (β Β β ββ βΏβ ββ Β β )β β‘ Also, the song "Don't Cry" somehow really suits Xi Yang in a sense, cuz of the lyrics "I'll find my way back home.." & "I'll remember my way back home"... It's like the song's telling us (from XY's Pov) that she regrets and will repay what she owed her family, and that she'll definitely return to her home...
I don't know whether my eyes are deceiving me or it's just because of their makeup and hairdo, but Xia Jing Yan looks more like Feng Sui Ge, rather than with Xia Jing Shi.. (β Κβ α΄β Κβ βΏβ )

I'm more curious about the former empress's d8@th.. Was it the Zhuangs that caused her downfall? If so, why was the emperor just staying put without trying to uncover the truth? Or did he chose to stay quiet to protect Sui Ge and Xi Yang? And as of ep21, I guess the old man Zhuang's hate for the emperor stemmed from his son's d8@th...? On the other hand, Murong Yao's intentions are still unclear, but it also seemed like they in this together for a grand revenge plan....
I guess that's exactly why they showed us the (slightly annoying) story of that Ruyan girl, To show that the FL…
Yepp~ We can see how different they are although both faced similar fates. One tries to change and chose to defy the wrongdoers even if they were her superiors, while the other just succumbed to her miserable fate without even trying to fight off...
