Can anyone tell me what happened to the romance between the two leads? One minute, the are wearing rings and trying to hide it from their coworker, and then they never mentioned it again. I must have dozed off.

The American news reporting it is extremely different than American fans. You can't equivocate the two. Furthermore, the person was talking about how American celebrities don't care about who gets married and there certainly isn't protests about it.
